This thread is not about whether or not abortion is morally right or wrong. So don't even go there. It is about Norma McCorvey only. The woman behind 'Roe vs. Wade' didn't change her mind on abortion. She was paidWhen Norma McCorvey, the anonymous plaintiff in the landmark Roe vs. Wade case, came out against abortion in 1995, it stunned the world and represented a huge symbolic victory for abortion opponents: “Jane Roe” had gone to the other side. For the remainder of her life, McCorvey worked to overturn the law that bore her name. But it was all a lie, McCorvey says in a documentary filmed in the months before her death in 2017, claiming she only did it because she was paid by antiabortion groups including Operation Rescue. “I was the big fish. I think it was a mutual thing. I took their money and they’d put me out in front of the cameras and tell me what to say. That’s what I’d say,” she says in “AKA Jane Roe,” which premieres Friday on FX. “It was all an act. I did it well too. I am a good actress.” In what she describes as a “deathbed confession,” a visibly ailing McCorvey restates her support for reproductive rights in colorful terms: “If a young woman wants to have an abortion, that’s no skin off my ass. That’s why they call it choice.” Complete article here: The woman behind 'Roe vs. Wade' didn't change her mind on abortion. She was paidThe 1996 movie, Citizen Ruth was way ahead of its time.

As with most things, we are only allowed to see what they want us to see. There’s always a back story of half truths and lies. What bothers me is the fact that so many people believe everything they see on TV or read on social media. Skepticism is not a bad thing.
I don’t blame either party for doing what they had to to win.

Wish I could say I was surprised. For the Republican Party, money seems to be the cure for a host of problems, right or wrong...

I think that both sides played her. At some points, she was probably for rent. Whoever had enough confidence in their editing, or stomach for the job, could get what they wanted out of her. I don't think that she ever got paid what she was worth to others as a pawn.
I'm not sure that I can blame her much for switching sides as much as she did. And I thank her heartily for her small part in making my potentially reproductive years less hellish than they could have been. 1980-2017 would have been very different for me had it not been for Roe v. Wade. I could not have walked the places that I walked, at the times that I walked them, had it not have been for the law known as Roe.

It’s quite ironic how many of those wack ‘Christian’ protesters that think Bill Gates is in league with Satan have the My body my choice’ protest signs.

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

I think a lot of people would take a position they didn't really believe in for $500,000. That is a Hella lotta $$.
