I saw patio chairs outside of my Rite Aid, and 50% off. Try looking at some unconventional sources.

It turns out the Target app lies. I was out running errands and had time to kill before my next stop opened. I went in and they had a huge stack of the chairs I wanted. The app still says they are out of stock. Now I need a table.

Red onions. Went to the grocery store today and not a red onion to be seen. The single Vidalias were meh and I don't need five pounds bags for just me. Especially since I'm not actually supposed to eat onions. Eh.

It's getting harder to find garden soil, compost, bark mulch, etc.
Part of it is unprecedented demand.
Part of it is that some of the producers can't get the plastic bags to package the products in because the bag manufacturers switched to producing other things (PPE, etc.) or were shut down during the surge.

Computers.....
Last week, TD thought he was going to need to buy another computer to be able to WFH. We went out to Costco to try to find him one, because he needed one immediately - if reinstalling windows was not going to work, he needed to be up and running and could not wait for one to be shipped. He was looking for a desktop, so he could use a dual monitor set up and be a bit more efficient.
Choices were VERY limited. He wound up buying another laptop - not one he would normally have bought - and paying way more than he wanted. As it turns out, reinstalling windows was sufficient to get his computer working properly. But just looking at what was available, you could see the stock of computers was really down.

I will say I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I went out to buy plants for my planters. Most of my herbs survived (and flourished) during the winter - but basil. My thyme, oregano, chives and rosemary have fully taken over one of my planters so I decided to plant my basil and tomatoes in the other. Plants were gorgeous, I was able to get all that I needed and even wound up buying 4 hanging baskets as they were gorgeous too.
Thinking about going back and buying more plants for the rest of the planters on the deck.

Same here, laptops all sold out. The only ones left are prohibitively expensive.

DD decided she wanted a bike. Stores don’t have them in stock. She and her friend spied on on the curb during our community spring clean up. They asked the homeowner if they could take it. She says it needs new tires.

I can't find a watering can for my flowers. The hose bib is leaking. Replacement is complicated by us having Pex water lines. We don't have the crimp tool that would be needed. DH has a call into a plumber.

A few weeks ago, the only relatively inexpensive Chromebook I could find was to order directly from Samsung. The one I had ordered a few months previous from Amazon had gone up over $100. Just after I ordered the Chromebook from Samsung, I got a notice it was back-ordered to last week. Right now, it's showing 6/15... This could really be a problem for WFH and people trying to do school from home.

Many school districts have bought and given computers to children for online home school. Probably added to shortage

Badminton sets! Something chewed up our set (it was in the garden shed.) I went to the sporting goods chain store on Fri, they were sold out. I looked online, all the nearest branches were sold out too.
So I ordered a set online. It'll be here in 10 days.

Before all this, I thought it was silly that our elementary school had a Chromebook for every student, though they stayed at the school. It came in handy now, as they simply issued each student the one they had already been using at the school. The result is a little crazy for my home, though, as we currently have and use 7 laptops between the 4 of us.
I think the highschool may have had to buy some, though.

Shortages seem to be easing some here, at least when it comes to meat. For a time, we were limited in how much we could purchase at a time. I went to my favorite meat market today, and was "allowed" to buy 10 pounds of ground beef at a time. (Gotta celebrate the little victories.)

DS and I went to a larger city yesterday to do some shopping. The WalMart there had alcohol (score!) and Epsom salt.
The alcohol was what I needed for my business and the limit 1 is fine as I won't need much.
Both DS and I like to soak in Epsom Salt and it's hiking season, so I bought 40# of it. We haven't been able to get it here for a while, for whatever reason.
Meat, including hamburger, has been plentiful here for the last couple of weeks.
I'm curious to see what will happen to the supply chain in the next few weeks.

Although the quantity is still limited, and the selection is VERY limited, t-paper and paper towels can now be found and purchased, in my area. I'm not much of a meat eater, so I haven't noticed a problem with that. And I saw Clorox bleach again, a few days ago. But I still haven't seen any Clorox, or Lysol wipes. And there is absolutely no alcohol, or alcohol swabs/pads, to be found. The shelves have remained empty and are collecting dust. >>>I did find alcohol at the State Liquor Store yesterday though. So I bought some, just to be sure! Has the Walmart in your area been closing at 4:30, "for safety reasons"? I haven't been to Walmart for months. I had heard they were closing at 5, due to the rioting. So I stopped by the one near me, for 2 frozen dinners a few days ago, at 4:25. They were already closed. It was SO annoying! -> Don't say you are open until 5, if you're closing at 4:30! When I inquired, I was told "The store is open until 5, but not allowing customers in after 4:30, for safety reasons".

My doctor told me the clinic is out of Clorox wipes. They now have to spray with disinfectant and then wipe the desk down. She said she only uses it for her desk, phone, etc.

I'm finding everything I need/want though I have to buy some online, some at one store, and some at a different store. Finally found yeast at a Stop and Shop one town over from me.
TP is available at Walmart and Stop and Shop, though the aisle always is at least half empty. Hand sanitizer I have three bottles I bought in the black market.

Bikes are 30 days out to buy or repair. I lucked out and found a unicorn cruiser for sale for $200 on the way home from my in laws. 21 speeds, fits perfect. He didn't list it in Craigslist which is the only reason I was able to snag it.
I've never liked my mountain bike and it needs a rear derailleur. Will probably put it up for free on Craigslist for someone who can do the work themselves.

We're not finding that much else is sold out but there are long lines to wait in to get into places. It's a pain for us and just not possible for high risk people.

Waiting to get in is the part that is fraying my nerves. I try to time it to avoid the wait but it's not always possible.
I was able to buy a 12 pack of hand sanitizer yesterday on Amazon. We have some travel coming up and I will share with DH's siblings and parents.
I noticed Walgreens had many of those items yesterday when I went in to buy Tide.
The line thing also I've noticed some stores either don't care or they assume they will never get over capacity?

I've always found the demand for wipes weird, since a few years ago they didn't even exist...
Lines to get in? DS and I went all over Bend Oregon the other day and there were no lines or control on how many people were in each store. Home Depot looked like it was Christmas.
I don't know, I guess we will know in a few weeks how things look as far as COVID goes.

I went to the grocery store today for the first time in quite awhile and it was really picked over. I can't believe the stocking up frenzy is still going on. There weren't a lot of totally bare shelves but it was still slim pickings of some things. Most pasta and soups were gone and there were almost no frozen vegetables either.

Our grocery has very few shortages, food wise. But I sure notice the quality of produce is down. Not sure why.

I went to Wal-Mart today. I didn't notice anything completely out, but lots of empty spaces on the shelves. It was busy as usual, but only about 25% were wearing masks.
They used to be 24 hr. Now closing at 8:30. Wal-Mart and Target both have local police monitoring the entrances. So far no trouble that I've heard of.

I'm in suburban Chicago. Spray disinfectant. Unless you go when the store opens, forget it. (Limit one) Might see six on the shelf. Maybe.... Still seeing bare shelves of cleaning supplies. Including, but not limited to sanitizing wipes, many disinfectant cleaners.... Hand sanitizer finally made it back. Hand soap, catch as one can. (But, we can use bar soap). Sometimes, there is NO chicken, sometimes, no beef. Pork seems to be okay... But, there are limits on most items.

i don't know if it's been listed, but dish soap. The liquid kind you use in the sink. 2 weeks now Costco has run out.

Dish soap ran out here early on. The shelves were wiped clean in March.
Gardening stuff and outdoor seating has really been hit hard. I've had trouble finding pots for my stuff.

Dish soap ran out early on here, too. It's easily found now. Also plenty of toilet paper and paper towels now.
