Amazon only charges me once the item ships, so it may be on the way. This is why I am hopeful that it will arrive.

I've been doing Mom's shopping for her and haven't been able to find any Maximum Strength Pepcid. Well I did find one small box with 8 tablets on my third try. That with what she had left gives me two weeks to find more. That's famotidine most stores have their own house brand if you aren't "married to" to the Pepcid brand. I miscalculated the amount of doses I had of "original pepcid" for my cat and had to go looking for some last week. The Jewel Osco didn't have any Pepcid but they had their house brand. I just carefully reviewed the labels on the different versions to get the right one for my cat. (She gets 1/4th of a pill every day or so. ) I did see house brand pepcid at Miejers and at walgreens (neither had the name brand) this week. I was wondering how much I over paid at my local Jewel (which is known for having stupidly high prices on everything). I only over paid a dollar or so. I'm shopping at one store per week... so don't do so much "find the lowest price" before buying on some things. This week I was shopping for myself and friend so I was in both Meijers and Walgreens.

I've been using alcohol prep pads--the kind you use to clean your skin before getting a shot--to wipe off my hands after shopping while I'm still in the car. We have loads left over from DH's period of serious illness years ago.

I've done an embarrassing amount of running around town in the last few days.
Toilet paper and paper towels are now readily available here.
Hamburger has returned to the meat counter at my local discount grocery store. In fact, I didn't notice any meat missing this trip. But, there's more cows/pigs than humans here, so I don't think meat will ever be much of a concern.
Sugar and flour are available again. The frozen foods freezers were full.
For some reason, Epsom salt has disappeared and rubbing alcohol is nowhere to be found. Hand sanitizer is available, but alcohol isn't...
I also noticed the store seemed really low on canned and packaged food items. I shop at an "outlet" store that sells overruns, discontinued products, etc... and they typically have tons of canned and packaged stuff. But, the owner mentioned they only get whatever the warehouse sends their way and are getting fewer deliveries each week, so perhaps they are prioritizing certain products over others.

We can't get hand sanitizer in shops but our pharmacy has been making it for regular customers.
It took me 6 weeks to find antiseptic wipes. I bought two small packs but one is almost gone (no huge packs of anything here in France). By luck I walked by as they were restocking those shelves, because they go immediately.

Golf club wheeled carts apparently can’t be found since golf clubs are open in many states but golf carts apparently aren’t available

Liquid hand soap still seems to be sparse - especially the normal brands. There was a fancy bottle for 11 dollars in stock, but no regular $2.99 or whatever.

At the beginning of all this, my director had a meeting with us telling us about the science of this. The gist of what he said is that 100% alcohol does not work, and I forget the reason (something about covid having a hard clam-like shell maybe). I just remember it had to be diluted with water in order to work on covid.

At least that is what I saw a doctor saying on the news.

For everyone looking for flour:
You can buy King Arthur Flour directly from their website. I have no idea what it costs.
Our bakery is now selling KA flour as part of our "pantry" items because we still have access to 50# bags of it. Not a reasonable amount to keep at home for most people. Anyone in MA can PM me if you'd like.
Check with any local bakeries to see if they have "pantry" items. We're selling flour, sugar and chocolate chips. No yeast because we only use fresh and it comes by the pound.

Didn't read all the responses and someone else probably already said it but getting your hands on certain exercise equipment right now is like trying to find bigfoot. We checked target on two separate occasions and the first time the equipment aisle was wiped out then the next time I was back they had repurposed that aisle with other products. I can only assume people did online orders for workout equipment and they weren't getting any in store any time soon. I had to search multiple sites for kettlebells and ended up ordering some from companies that were out of state while they were sold out of the popular sizes. I know multiple people that have been trying to find dumbbells or weight sets with no luck as even the second hand market is extremely thin.

Costco has had flour our last few visits. In fact, we picked up another 25 lb bag. Audrey eats a lot and I have been using her regularly.
The last 2 grocery runs I have seen flour on the shelves. Not a lot, and not many choices though. My suggestion is if you can not find flour (or anything) try getting to the store near opening. I am usually at the store early...before 9 am.

Has anyone tried buying Vitamin D? The reports on its effects are mixed- apparently people who have more severe cases of COVID-19 tend to have Vitamin D deficiencies, which is certainly not equivalent to "Take lots of Vitamin D so you're less likely to have a severe case" but.... given the horde mentality I wouldn't be surprised if it was hard to find. I'll have to check when I do my regular grocery shopping tomorrow. I've been taking it as a supplement for years.

I haven't looked for it but I'm not taking any chances on DH's magnesium citrate so I just ordered another two bottles through Amazon. The citrate formulation is really hard to find locally and he says it has superior absorption.

Our stores have mostly restocked. The opposite is starting to happen as people are running out of money so they have very little to spend and the stores are starting to have excess inventory they can’t sell.
Except for instant rice, the shelves have been devoid of rice for weeks.

LOL... icecream makers make me think of the Little House on the Prairie books. I read them for the first time a couple of years ago. When the Ingall kids are a bit older - ma and pa Ingalls leave the house/farm for a few days (can't remember why). They leave the the kids in charge (FWIW I think the kids are teens) and it's summer - so they pretty much just need to keep the livestock and themselves fed for a few days. The kids manage to do "chores" for a day - but then anarchy and dissent set in - and the kids make icecream and do a few chores. The third day little to nothing gets done and they basically make and eat icecream. Who knew you could make ice cream without electricity!! (they had an "ice house" filled with blocks of ice (and sawdust as insulation?) they had cut from the local pond during the winter) The thought of those 3 or 4 day in 1880's a middle of nowhere farm when the kids said "screw the daily grind - lets just eat icecream and take it easy" always makes me smile. They had some heck to pay when Ma and Pa got home.... as it was obvious the daily routine of farm care hadn't been happening. To the topic, I've been able to find/buy all the stuff I've needed/wanted. I had a good supply of TP and Papertowels going into it. I didn't see a need for "sanitizers" and "wipes" - I live alone and WFH. I noticed the canned sardines and spam are back in stock at my local Aldi. I think that was Farmer boy - the one book not about the Ingalls, but about Laura's husband's childhood. It was all about food, I swear. The massive breakfasts they inhaled because they did chores first, popcorn and apples in winter evenings while reading books, etc. I liked the earliest Little House books (when they were young children) much better than the darker, later books. As for missing items at the store, I couldn't get angel hair pasta (just the way too thick spaghetti), pork chops were nowhere to be found, whole wheat bread, boullion cubes, and regular frozen corn (they had the steamable bags, but not the full pound bag). The TP was proudly on display (blank shelf for paper towels, though), there was flour (has been all along). I got the last chub of frozen ground turkey, though. DS4 is home from college, had to increase my list by 1/3 to feed another. I'm almost ready to go back to shopping weekly, just because it's hard to fit two weeks of stuff in the cart/trunk. Prices are definitely up - potatoes were $5 for a bag! Most things were marked up 10%, but meat was significantly more, and half the variety of usual.

Has anyone tried buying Vitamin D?@athena53 yes, but only because I've been taking a high dose every quarter for years (per my pharmacist's recommendation!!!) I tried buying it at the local pharmacy, they refused! They told me it's too high a dose and that I need to see a doctor. It's the exact same dose I've been taking every quarter for years, per THEIR recommendation!!! That was infuriating! I take calcium for early stages of osteoporosis. I checked my Calcium pills, and they contain Vit D. DH takes "senior" vitamins. I checked his, and they contain Vit D too. Since we're both taking some Vit D, I decided to let it go. But I was PO'd at them for telling me to take that high dose for years, and then suddenly telling me that same dose was too high and they wouldn't give it to me. I'm also guessing it's probably because I got the PITA assistant that day rather than one of the real pharmacists.

You do have to be careful about taking too much vitamin D. There was a whole big conversation on CD about that.

CD? But Lizard, I was asking for my regular quarterly dose, per THEIR recommendation. City data. Several nurses and a bunch of others are all about vitamin D (especially through sunlight), but caution to get levels checked, because you can overdose on it if getting it through supplements.

Yes, vitamins A,D,E and K are fat-soluble vitamins, and are not excreted via urine. Your body stores them.

I take by scrip 50000 units of Vit D weekly, mine was low. My doc checks the level periodically. I think I need to do B complex by scrip too as the pills have way to high a dose and last time was to high so I quit it for awhile.
There are various things I can't get at Sams right now. Or at least online, no green onions, no romano cheese, things like that.
I stock up on most everything, and keep it topped off, so haven't really needed anything. Yeah, I have wants like the above but not needs. Sometimes I think I should get rid of a lot of "stuff" then something like this happens and all is good. In Texas did the same for hurricanes.
I waited to see my heart doc, they call today, change the time tomorrow then tell me the doc is not in. The assistant will call and we do an online interview. Oh if I can take my blood pressure and heart rate plus weight. Have meds ready. I told her I'm pass due for carotid artery check, was due in March. I haven't seen the doc since end of last year. I told her this time I was needing to see him.
So if they don't do any testing for the shortness of breath or anything will go back to primary. I told her I didn't want to duplicate tests so waited to see this doc. She was ready to do them all last Friday, since I was so close said I would wait the few days. I'm not very happy about this. The guy is always so busy its like he rushes through. I tried to change to the one my DD has and he told me in the past he would do the same treatment. He is never unavailable to see, he is the only doc in his practice, very thorough, but just a few years from retirement.
So here I am still having issues and don't expect help tomorrow. I need to see if I can find someone else up there or go south to another hospital. Will see what tomorrow brings.
I go in next Tuesday for my eval for my PT, so hopefully I can get that started for my legs. That's a positive.

I found 1 gallon size hand sanitizer at Lowe's a couple days ago. $25.00.
I've heard a few people say they don't like the smell, but if it saves your life, or keeps you from getting sick, it's worth putting up with a smell you don't care for, I think.

My work is all about safety, and this came through an email today regarding hand sanitizer:
"A SAFETY ALERT was issued to several electric generation facilities, after an employee was burned after using hand sanitizer.
Summary: April 2020, at Gasscoin Haugesund, Norway, a Gassco employee used alcohol based hand sanitizer, as recommended during the COVID-10 pandemic. The individual touched a metal surface before the liquid evaporated. Due to static electricity, the vapor from the hand sanitizer ignited with an almost invisible flame on both hands. The person quickly managed to get to a sink to extinguish the flames. The individual suffered first and second degree burns to the hand."
Just something to keep in mind. Probably not so much a problem in the humid spring and summer seasons/areas.

We are always under on D. I’m probably ok with getting sun right now but the kids I’ve encouraged to keep taking their OTC doses. They both have scripts for winter.
