Last month I looked for bandanas, and surprise not available. Now DD has moved to a new house and I was looking for kits to build back yard swing and play sets. Guess what, none available. With parks closed I guess everyone is building their own. What else have you been unable to find?

I heard canning jars are nowhere to be found with all the victory gardens.

I was trying to find a particular ice cream maker. It's sold out. Supposedly my local Bed, Bath and Beyond has it but they are not open for curbside. The stores were granted permission to reopen Friday night. I heard from another set of stores that they need professional cleaning first. And then they can mark off 6 foot intervals and do the splash shields.
Jigsaw puzzles have been grabbed up. I tried to get patio chairs at Target and the ones I want are all gone. I looked in 3 different mid Atlantic states and nothing.

Dusted sure, but professionally cleaned?

I call ours Mrs. Switch. She's apparently my 9 year old's new homeschool teacher.

Fitness equipment. I was able to get a weight bench, but can't get the weights to go with it. I was able to get some resistance bands though.

I was able to finally get hand sanitizer from Target last week. I hadn't been able to find it since things shut down. It is still pretty slim pickings for cleaning products though.

Wow, these posts are quite a list of First World Problems.
What if today's Snowflakes had to get milk by milking a cow, gather eggs, butcher a hog for bacon and laundry soap, harness a team to drive to town for sugar & flour?

Sort of like all the protests about not being able to get your hair cut, go to bars, restaurants, and the like, as well as buy guns, don't you think?

Not much where I shop. You can't get every cut of pork, chicken or beef your heart might desire but there is enough there for everyone. Hair dye was picked clean for awhile I am not sure if it still is I haven't been down that aisle lately. The paper good aisles are fully stocked now with a variety of brands. Wal-mart is still short on eggs but according to my parents Hy-Vee had so many crates of eggs you'd think the Easter Bunny was coming. Art supplies are picked clean at most stores. I did find some more acrylic paint for Gwen and switched up the medium she paints on. Canvas will be "sold out" for a LONG time as far she knows.

Here's your participation in life ribbon.

My parents lived through some tough times, but they have never butchered a hog and wouldn't know how to make soap without further instructions. My kids and my parents would be equally uncomfortable with your list, and my parents aren't snowflakes. I am not sure my kids are either, but since we are channeling the old man who shakes his fist and yells "Get off my lawn you damn kids" it seems pointless to discuss the possibility that the younger generation is strong and hardworking.

I will admit I couldn't butcher a hog. DH certainly could he's butchered and skinned plenty of other animals in his lifetime. However I don't think the city would look too kindly on us raising our own pork within city limits.

My husband did grow up on a farm. While he has milked plenty of cows, gathered eggs, hitched teams (but why would you do that when you have a tractor?), he would have no idea how to butcher a hog or make soap. He decided as a kid that farming sucks and he's now a pharmacist.

The fantasy of self-sufficiency. Life expectancy was a whole lot shorter because you could not do much medically. Now plenty of people are alive because of modern medicine, but very few who claim self sufficiency could treat their acute medical problems themselves
