I might do 500 miles for a haircut but that's my max. Right now I'm looking for drive-by hair cutters.

I asked DS if he was up for a road trip. The nearest Great Clips that is open is 3 hours away and says it has a 2+ hour wait time. I figured we could get on the wait list and it would be about his turn when we got there. He said no.

I helped my DH cut his hair with the clippers. It wasn't as good as the salon cut on the top, but decent. Planning on doing my kids' hair later today. I'd be ok with them growing their hair long if they want, but apparently it's bugging them. I sort of know how/have done it before--its not rocket science.
My brother found my dad's old flowbee. He says it works great.

Ok. I was thinking to say no to daughter who wants to drive and hour and a half to meet friends in a park and socially distance talk... because why, but maybe it's not a crazy idea. At least she'll feel like she did something?

I'm not getting a haircut even when they reopen the barbershops. Steven Tyler is my new role model.

I don't even like to drive two miles for a haircut! I walk into my bathroom grudgingly on occasion to cut mine and that's only a few feet

This is why we will have out-of-control outbreaks. Because once people are told things are open they now feel free to travel hundreds/thousands of miles and share their germs.

What I have learned. Women with curly hair will cut their own hair without much problem. The curls hide any boo boos.
My GrSIL paid his wife's hairdresser $50 to make a house call.
A friend who had been hospitalized 2.5 weeks with meningitis and UTI problems had a visit from her hairdresser after she got home. It pays to know your hairdresser well and have a H. with some deep pockets.
My neighbor showed up with a new haircut. I asked her where she went. She didn't drive too far in comparison to 600 miles. It was about 20 miles.
A retired hair dresser was doing hair at the resort we were at. She was very busy.
All people need to do is talk to each other for find the hair deals!

I have short curly hair so I cut mine. I used to say I scrunched it up to hide the oops. But to be up to date I now say it autocorrects!

I’m letting my hair grow out, so haven’t had a haircut in months. I can “line” my hair and clean up the hair that grows down the back of my neck myself, which is what I’ve been doing. DBf keeps his head shaved clean, which he can do himself. He cut DGS’s hair for me, a haircut that was sorely needed but one that I wouldn’t have ventured into a barbershop and most definitely wouldn’t have traveled hundreds of miles to get.

I'm fortunate in that I don't give a shit on how my haircut looks. lol . Full head of hair but thinning so for the last 5-7 years, I've just used clippers and called it good. I've offered to use the clippers on others but haven't had any takers yet I wasn't even going to charge!

What stood out to me: Guy had lost his job He drove 600 miles to get a haircut but this was the first time in years he drove home He is not the only one going to extremes for a hair cut Looking for a sense of normalcy?
We are living in a looney bin with inmates acting like spoiled brats.
I too need a haircut, BADLY but I'm not driving more than a few miles for it well after we are open for business again. Until then my hair will be a mess.

I only get my hair cut a few times a year anyway. I must say, it's quite long now.
I just cut my ods' hair, or attempted to. I used a longer attachment, so it was harder than my husband's. Plus, his hair is crazy thick, and he wanted to keep the top long. I'm going to go back with scissors, and even things out. He seems to like it the way it is.

It's called getting "caught in the act" of cutting hair in a gated community where you do not get in unless your name is on the list. Like running that red light.

Okay, I blended the short in more to the long on top. It's looking much better. My son wants this to be the way his hair is cut from now on. I'll be happy to let our stylist do it again when she can, because his hair is a pita.

My kids won't let me anywhere near them with a clippers. They yell, "SOCIAL DISTANCE!!" and run away. I think my oldest has PTSD from his dad cutting his hair one time when he was younger. He looks so scruffy though. It's all curly and messy looking. I really wish I could get it cut before graduation. Carrot's is ok long, it's getting in his eyes, but for the most part it lays down well and can be brushed to look neat.

I borrowed a friend's clippers and shaved my head this afternoon (not bald, but REALLY short), and then my wonderful DH did his hair, too. Mine is now colored hot pink. For years I've wanted to shave my head for the summer heat and menopause and the quarantine seems to have pushed me to take the plunge. It's definitely short ... but in about 4 weeks I'll LOVE the length!

I cut kiddos hair with the trimmers. Didn't touch the top as he's been growing that out for almost a year, but went much shorter than he was thinking apparently in the back. He said, well, your not K (our hair stylist, and his eyes teared up and he kicked me out to take his shower). I felt really bad, but I thought it looked good-and so did everyone else. Not that it matters.

Our salons all opened last Friday.
I had bought clippers and cut DH's hair a couple of weeks ago. I thought it looked good, but when his stylist called him to offer an appt next week, he scheduled the appt.
I turned down the one that was offered for me tomorrow. I am still not comfortable going out even though the state is open again. I have a shoulder length bob, so it doesn't look much different than normal yet. Maybe next month I will have more confidence and make the appointment. I feel bad because my stylist could use the money, but we are still reporting about 1000 cases per day and I am just not comfortable being in such close quarters for two hours.

I need to whack my bangs. DD and I managed to get hair cuts right before Wisconsin shut everything down. My DS is in dire need of a hair cut. DH has a pair of clippers and is going to make an attempt to trim him. But he's hoping that if he procrastinates long enough that the hair place he and DS go to will reopen. DS has really thick hair and neither DH or I are good at hair cutting.

He flat out refused. I asked if he was going to grow a man bun then. He said no way. His hair grows really fast and it's really thick, so he's going to have to do one or the other soon.

I'm waffling on a hair cut. With mine being an angled bob with a shaved underside it's growing out weird but I wear a hair net at my regular job and nobody is commenting on my hair at the business. It's not long enough to put up yet but I'm going to have to get some head bands to push it out of my face. I've also noticed I have WAY more greys than I recall having the last time I colored my hair. I usually do my own but I haven't had the motivation to. I am bored with the current color anyhow. I haven't decided if I want to go Cherry Cola or let my hair go back to natural. My regular salon at JCP is not open yet. I'd like to go there to support the two stylists I regularly use. However one in Omaha I have been really wanting to try is open. Reading their guidelines I don't think I am at any more risk than I am at the restuerant on Saturdays. We'll see. I am waiting out the next few weeks, I am thinking maybe June.
