is that like when you pull the covers up over your head? Can't see danger = there is no danger?

Step right up to get your pair: “Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses have been specially designed to help people develop a relaxed attitude to danger. At the first hint of trouble, they turn totally black and thus prevent you from seeing anything that might alarm you.” ― Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe link

I was going to use the ostrich thing as an example, but it turns out that that's more of an urban legend.
They do put their heads in holes in the sand, but it's to check the eggs that are there, rather than pretend danger doesn't exist.

Dang! I did not know that. How did that bit of fact escape me for all these years?

Cynicism: Dear Mr. Jones, you mother passed away today in our care facilty at age 84 of Covid19 related causes. However, since she was already past the average life expectancy of 81 years her death will be recorded as the effects of old age. Please make a generous donation to reelection campaign of the man who made it possible for your mother to die of old age. And be certain to vote for him come November. sincerely yours, a true strumpet. MAGA

Since "average life expectancy" does not exist other than as a someone playing with numbers game, your "fun fact" can be true or false. It only exists as science...so to the level that science "does not exist"...that's true. The measurement of a mile only exists as someone plying with numbers. All science only exists as someone playing with inputs. But then again if you don't believe in science...then anything can be true or false in your mind.

All science only exists as someone playing with inputs. But then again if you don't believe in science...then anything can be true or false in your mind. There is a need to "believe" in science. Or an acceptance of things to be what human beings have decided them to be. If one does not "believe" that the distance generally agreed upon to be a mile is actually what a mile is, then anything reported in miles using that generally agreed upon distance would not be accepted as the accurate number to use to represent the distance. I do believe that there is a physical world that exists outside of human awareness and that there is space that exists between objects. I also believe that if all human beings were to cease to exist, "miles" would die with them. Average life expectancy is a human construct, totally dependent on what is used to create it. A talented person can play with definitions and data to create all sorts of fun facts concerning it.

He's currently on TV talking about rebuilding our great economy... Nice he never seems to care about the 86,000 Americans who have died.

but an Oscar worthy performance you have to admit. The clarity, deeply thought out presidential responses are perfectly reproduced. Heck if it weren't for that hand thingy that @missrigby pointed out you would have a hard time differentiating between the two.

He doesn't seem to care because he doesn't care. He's a narcissist, and they don't care by mental defect. CNN is currently trashing the rapidio vaccination plan. lol

Besides the hands, of course, also way too much natural hair, no comb over and actually a normal color. You all are funny as heck.

I posted this on another thread but it probably applies better here. Testing we don't need no stinking Testing!
