What purchases have you made, that you normally wouldn't, because of COVID19 and the stay at home orders? (Not counting stocking up on your usual things.) I've bought: A jump rope, because the gym is closed Blue tooth headphones, because of all the walks I'm taking Tylenol, not the usual pain killer I use A CBS all access subscription, to watch Star Trek Discovery and Picard and increased my Netflix to 4 users, because everyone seemed to use it at the same time

Besides a few books that I really wanted to read, I haven't bought anything different. I am buying stuff in larger quantities when I find it, because of shortages; TP, yeast, eggs, etc. The one thing I haven't purchased because of COVID 19 is my ticket back home for the holidays

I'm spending more on grocery items because its either too time consuming to stand in line at multiple stores or because the place I usually buy the item is out.

I think I bought a container of shelf stable milk, but that's about it.
I have purchased a hell of a lot more books from Amazon to download as I am slamming through a book a day. So my Kindle purchases have gone from about $30/mo to $60/mo. For me, cheap entertainment.
ETA: My normal shopping is usually grocery shopping the sales for meals. That's been thrown out the window, I buy what I want to make and try to have some sort of ideas as to new meals. As a result, I choose the grocery stores where I am likely to get everything I need in one stop - as that is all I am willing to do each week. So my grocery costs have probably gone up around 30%, if not more.

I have a pulse oximeter on order. I figure if I come down with this bug I'll have to deal with it on my own and a pulse oximeter will give me an early indication of whether I need to call 911. I sincerely hope I don't need it.
The only other purchase is for after things open up. I've decided that I no longer want to deal with the music they blast at us in my gym (interspersed with commercials- follow the money) and want to listen to podcasts instead, as I've been doing on my treadmill. The only way to drown it out is noise-cancelling headphones so I bought a pair.

A spin bike and a weight bench since the gym is closed. I've been trying to get a weight set, but they're sold out everywhere. I'll get one when everything opens up so that I have it for the second wave.

A bunch of K cups and more food than this house has ever seen.
And a bunch of masks and gloves.

A bunch of masks (required in my state), gloves, hand sanitizer, wipes and Tylenol. Those are the items out of the norm for us
We have stocked up on a lot of food, alcohol, toilet paper and paper towels. Normal things we buy but in much larger quantities.

Tylenol. I prefer Motrin for my various aches and pains, but switched to Tylenol for precautionary measures. Hand sanitizer. I was FINALLY able to find some a few days ago. I’ve never bought hand sanitizer because imo, hands can still be “dirty” if they aren’t washed with soap and water and I prefer real hand washing. For example, say I’ve been digging in dirt and my hands are covered in said dirt, hand sanitizer might get rid of some of the germs, but my hands will still be “dirty”, because I can literally still see dirt in them. Soap and water gets rid of the dirt and the germs. At least, that how it works in my head. But these days, as soon as I get back in my car from going inside a store, I use a liberal amount of hand sanitizer. It’s better than nothing, I guess. I still wash my hands with soap and water as soon as I get home. DBF really wants a freezer. The only reason he hasn’t bought one yet is they’re sold out locally. He’s occasionally mentioned buying a freezer since we moved, but he has a sense of urgency now because of current events. I don’t care whether we get one soon or not, but if we do, it will be because of his concerns about COVID-19 messing up the food supply.

I bought my first ever small container of hand sanitizer and put it in my truck.
I bought enough food and household stuff that we can live comfortably for 2 months or more.
I ordered a spare Chromebook because their prices are rising and they are harder to find online. I ordered direct from Samsung and it's been backordered.
I bought DS a piano keyboard as an early b-day present so he has something else to keep his mind occupied.

My daughter got spoiled because we are trying to keep her busy and not just prop her in front of a TV... - coloring books (about 3 I think). - reading books (about 5), she tend to want to read the same one over and over for a couple of nights - stickers (she love that)... about 2 books - stickers for the windows (we have been buying those since last year for each celebration / event. - a lot of different paw patrol things (her new obsession, she is over Toy Story for now) : coloring books, reading book, ordered 3 season on Verizon (bad). - lots of legos: she basically have the whole Disney LEGO sets and Bow boutique (my wife enjoys it just as much as her, so they do it together). She is proud of her little village setup in her room. - Harp fruits, coffee maker, baking , etc: my mom got her that and I think the whole thing was like ~$150 because each is about ~$30. They are like wooden play toys ; she already had the tea set, the kitchen utensils and the fish/meat.
And probably a lot more that I am forgetting. We just had a conversation that we need to slow it down for the remainder of the summer because: a) wè overdid it so far and b) running out of space.
Me : face mask
My wife: a mixer and a lot of different spices. She has been doing a lot of baking and cooking since working from home and trying different things.
Our grocery bills has gone up a lot (1 extra person + everyone except from me being home + more exploring different kind/type of food requiring some spices that I would not usually buy and not always cheap).

No daycare means extra funds and I've done A LOT of emotional shopping.
I got back into needlework just so I could have something to do with my hands and keep them off the computer.
Bought more paint than I normally would to keep Gwen occupied. We got a tie dye kit to play with tomorrow for something different to do.
Got a pretzel kit to make with the kids.
Also my herb garden has expanded. Tried growing microgreens with Abby and it worked so well I got another kit.
Gwen's fairy garden has outgrown its pot I'm going to ask my brother about helping her incorporate it into the landscaping he's doing for us in front of the house.

I forgot about the $70 headset for DH. We've been sharing mine but sometimes we both need it. I could have looked for a cheaper one for him but I know these work. Everyone must have bought them because I had a hard time finding them. I am skeptical about these as I placed the order 3 days ago and they haven't shipped.

I ordered a spare Chromebook because their prices are rising and they are harder to find online. I ordered direct from Samsung and it's been backordered. There's a lot of scarcity around electronic equipment; wvugirl mentioned a headset and 2 weeks ago a fellow Toastmasters member said that high-grade video cameras were now way overpriced because people want to look better in Zoom meetings. I know BF bought a better monitor for working at home. You mentioned hand sanitizer- yeah, that was never on my radar screen. I was running out of the small supply I had from when DS was sick and found some in a standard alcohol bottle- yeah, made in a distillery. Yankee ingenuity. Never would have bought that size were it not for COVID-19.

I got a chromebook when this started. Our laptop is ancient. Gwen came home with one but Abby did not so I decided to upgrade so she could also do school work.
Then the school got a grant so now every kid has a computer.
Now I'm keeping track of three separate chromebooks. DH was provided with a desk top.
It wasn't a lot of money but now I feel silly. I use it the most for checking out ebooks from the library.

Got a Kindle for DH and he's burning through books so I'm glad we have 4 months of Kindle Unlimited for free. $9.99/month after which is cheaper than his reading habit at Costco, Amazon, or Half-Priced Books. Our library is very limited and now it's closed.
Masks, masks and more masks because we wear them, I like them to look good with our clothes and I'm supporting local people. And a 1-gallon jug of hand sanitizer.
T-shirts with sayings like, "All we need is love and a good vaccine".
Lots of facial and nail products because no mani-pedi's, but I've still sent less in that category than two months at the salon would be.
Last night I drank wine and went on Pottery Barn's website. The damage has been shipped and will arrive next week. In my defense, they were having a big sale. And I really NEEDED 22 lbs of decorative metal to hang on our fence.

I want a peloton too, but I'm too cheap. I got this and am watching classes for free on YouTube.

An XP-Pen art tablet so I can make videos for my students and write directly on my slides instead of printing and juggling a document camera and dealing with all the inconvenient shadows. That's the work thing.
Fun things are more yarn and continuing our Hunt-a-Killer subscription. We got it for the winter months and right now we are all home to play it. It's fun.
