Bush wasn't the brightest, but he had empathy, humility, compassion and an even keel. Not a hotheaded egomaniac!!

Every Republican president in my lifetime has been worse than the previous one. It makes me shudder to wonder what they will pull out of their cesspool

I'm thankful that Mr. Bush took the time to give his opinion. Even if the current occupant doesn't want to hear it. Isn't it amazing how our opinion of Mr. Bush has improved with time? Of course, I never imagined that folks would actually vote for "reality star" Trump. Even if he didn't win the popular vote, and only won due to the electoral college, it's disturbing that so many thought he'd make a great president.

The real scary s**t is the Donald doesn't understand how deep the hatred is for him and his Administration....there is his base and then the rest of America...
There is a reason former Presidents rarely comment on the Presidents in power...they know how tough it is to be in that position...The Donald just does not get it....It will be interesting to see how the November election turns out..I still don't feel if defeated he will leave as he should quietly and not make a fuss...even to the point of not leaving at all...peacefully...

I'm quickly growing to love when Trump does crap like this. Not only is it pure entertainment gold, but it hastens his demise, yet he still can't resist! The best thing his "advisors" did for him recently was to halt his daily press briefings, which made me sad. All he has to do is shut the eff up, but he can't, and it is glorious.

I was not sorry to see him resign. But over time, I came to respect him as an elderly statesman. And I was saddened by his passing.

Resigning was not enough. I needed prosecution, especially for him and Kissinger for being war criminals. Just once I needed to see justice applied to the highest levels, instead of what we always get... prisons filled with the lowest segments of society for crimes such as possessing a plastic bag with herbs in it. Nixxon was allowed to recreate himself as that ‘elder statesman’ given access to publishers and media, as if the resignation and shame were enough. Not for me. And Kissinger still can’t travel to certain parts of the world.

He admitted he's the same person he was in the first grade!! Donald Trump tells biographer he's the same now as he was in first grade Donald Trump's temper-tantrum tactics have been explained by the man himself. The frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination admitted to his biographer that, "When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. I get what you are saying, and Nixon was a smart and cagey man, expert on many aspects of foreign affairs. I too valued his perspective. And Dubya, there is a guy I could have a beer with, if either he or I drank it. However, I still cannot forget- Nixon was elected with a "secret" plan to end a war, and expanded it by invading another country and ordering hellacious bombing campaigns. Bush Junior invaded a country and started a war for completely spurious reasons. Between the two of them they are responsible for the death, maiming and suffering of millions of innocent people.

I think the better comparison is Nixon and Trump.
Nixon wins, hands down. if Trump had resigned in 2017, I would have given him more credit. he has been over his head since he trotted down PA Ave.
