This does make me wonder what the White House threatens people with, if they testify. Dr. Fauci seems to be his own man. Inquiring minds want to know...

In the good old days important people kept their "skeletons" quietly hidden in a closet (or two). It seems like Trump has dozens and dozens of 'em all in plain view. Good thing he's got good lawyers and the Trump Show to help provide distractions .

I’m guessing that while Fauci seems to be his own man, he is doing this altruistically. He seems to be one of the few people tRump listens to. The man has worked for the NIH long enough to have a pension. He can retire if he wants. If he does not want to retire, he is so well regarded as a scientist that if he did not work for the government, he can write his ticket ANYWHERE in the world (I think Italy offered him a job if tRump fires him). If my experience in working with scientists, they very rarely retire and step back from science. It is very hard to stop doing what you have done for 40+ years. I know that my brain is still going about what I would do if I had access with my old job, and I didn’t leave at near that level. There are a zillion projects I have come up with in the last 8 years.....if only I had access.....
