Ha ha ha ha ha. First, EVERYONE has usable baggage. Second, Trump will just make up a bunch of baggage, so even if you found a perfect candidate, they would be puke by the end of the campaign. Cuomo is problematic. He just isn't getting heat for his deficiencies at this exact moment. I just don’t know enough about that problematic, vindictive douche I guess. I do know enough about Joe who was never in my top 5. Pay to play, bid rigging, etc. No convictions, but Lock him up is too easy.

Technical point. Biden is the presumptive nominee but is not officially in any position from which he would have to be removed. There are enough delegate votes uncommitted (and committed to others) right now to deny him the nomination. Great, find someone who can get all those delegates and get them on the ballot and have the people pick their candidate. The DNC already has a black mark for "shoving Hillary down our throats". Removing the front runner and dropping in a rando will be way worse. It didn't come to it in the primary but there were multiple articles mentioning DNC super delegates saying they would do whatever was within their power to prevent Bernie from getting the nomination if it came to that because they felt on a national level Biden had a better shot to beat Trump. If the DNC did an about face on this now and screwed over Biden and the will of the voters that would be about the worst course of action and cost them votes at the state and federal level. They picked their candidate now it's time to live with that decision and move forward.

No, Cuomo is a vindictive prick and has his own issues with corruption. Run him in a nationwide campaign and it's going to get ugly. Granted, what he's done is nothing like what Trump has done, but for some reason Trump is teflon. I know you have called him a douch and now a vindictive prick (not that we don’t need one to go against Trump). But what of this corruption of which you speak? Trump sleeps on dirty sheets! I said he's a piker compared to trump. Several state programs have passed where the only vendor that can fill the request is a small shop run by a friend of his. Construction development, 2 close friends of his went to jail, sort of like Trump with stone, manafort, etc. His hands are clean but all his buddies fell. I think he'd probably do OK as president, but he's not the white knight everyone is making him out to be.

Conspiracy theories and feelings of being deceived would be too strong. The only way we get rid of him is if he dies or is otherwise incapacitated. (And Hilary will be blamed for it.)

I think if Biden were to do it today however, it would be a story with less "legs" than the sexual assault allegations and thus have less impact come November.

More of a Zorro slashing through all the Repo-Con BS. Whereas Joe is riding a little white pony that may have forgotten where the trail is. Donnadub, not quite the political animal I’ve always been, thinks he’s a horrid choice and a mistake. Doesn’t see him not getting ground into burger by Trump. She liked Amy. I see Cuomo as simply someone that can go toe to toe with the Donald and win.

FWIW, I think this is an important discussion to have now instead of not having it. I am stating one option more strongly than I necessarily believe in. I appreciate the counter-arguments. This to me is why this board's existence is a good thing.

I see that as the problem for Klobuchar and the others who ran.

I used to think this kind of accusation would derail a campaign but not anymore. The voters will have to decide if the would prefer someone with a thirty year old assault accusation (no witnesses) or someone caught on tape talking about how much he loves grabbing women by their private parts. I don’t see how the dems could pick someone out of the crowd and pronounce them the new dem candidate. We have primaries for a reason. At this point we have so much to judge Trumps performance on, and imho, he is lacking in so many areas. Anyone but Trump has to be a better choice.

VP candidate for Biden is key. Absolutely. I don't care about the person's gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity but they need to be qualified. I do not think some of the names being mentioned are qualified to be a heartbeat away from running the country but to be fair some of those names are being pushed by the media and I don't think they're really in contention. Nothing would make me vote for Trump at this point but Biden's pick could definitely make me vote 3rd party like I did the last few elections.

I know at least one Democrat who thinks he is loathsome. One whole democrat?! Aren't most of them loathsome, and the rest are just unlikable? Or is it just me? confession: I don't know many Democrats. most businesspeople are Republicans.

Is that supported by data or just your experience? I know there were more small business owners that are registered Republicans, but it isn't 100%. It is like 60/40. Given that college educated people vote democrat like 55% of the time, it isn't a stretch to believe that there are Democrats in business.

Back to the OP assertion, I don't know if someone is going to come to light that can win against Trump with less than a 7 month timeframe to gear up a campaign. I know the accuser said this wasn't political, but I don't believe her at all on that. She came out via Business Insider not a regular newspaper or even a credible magazine. She passed up coming out during the #metoo movement, both his terms as VP, and times it for when he looks like the nominee. Its totally political and I would not be surprised if she got paid to come forward from part of the opposition machine.
So for those reasons, I don't want him to step aside and let their shit throwing mission succeed. Obviously it happened when it did because the Trump campaign is worried. Biden's campaign or related ones should start flooding channels with all Trump's old accusers especially the girl who got death threats. I wish someone else had made it this far, but Biden does have the Obama card to play unlike anyone else, and I am certain Trump hates that.

Dear Moscow Mitch. Regarding your request I have to ask. Is a one word answer sufficient? Similar, but less gross than the one we rightfully use for the Republican candidate (Mushroom in case you don't know what we refer to)?

another thing about businesspeople tho, they tend not to discuss politics.
