Masks are meant to prevent other people, not yourself. How Christian of him to put others at risk. I would have booted his ass out of our building, and would explained why. Back in the early 80's VP Bush and his entourage came to the door of a restaurant that I cooked at, 15 minutes after closing. The Hostess asked if we could serve them. I said no, kitchen is closed. I was very quickly told via a telephone call that the kitchen would re-open, immediately. Power has it's privileges. Of course, this was fried clams, not life and death, and I didn't own the joint. Yeah, but we have a lot more power and ability to push pack. We are trusted a whole lot more than politicians

So many ways clams could go bad. ETA: I love fried whole clams. I wish we had them here. Had some a year ago this week when I was up in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Top of my list for eating out. Definitely got to have my fix once a year too. Wicked good!

Besides that it was disrespectful, showed lack of concern for others, set a poor example, and contradicted what everyone has been told to do... Maybe I'm wrong, but just because he gets tested all the time and didn't have it at the time he was last tested, that doesn't mean he couldn't have contracted it since his last test. Right?
Seems like a shitty thing to do, in my opinion. I would have been furious, if I, or someone I cared about, had been there. It makes me mad, even though that wasn't the case.

Yes, he could have contracted since his last test. He alsocould have contracted in during the visit. He also broadcast the entitled “I’m so special I get multiple tests, but you peons can’t get a single test”. And trump is upset that hisnumbers are down

I read earlier today (no link) that the reporter who tweeted will be barred from attending any more VP trips.
Guess they didn't like getting tattled on & making "Mother" a liar!

Now, after saying he didn't need a mask. And saying he wanted people to see his face. And his wife saying he didn't know he should be wearing a mask. He comes out and says that he should have worn a mask. What a wieny. If you are going to apologize and eat crow - do it day 1 or maybe day 2. Don't try 5 other things and then finally give in. You ain't foolin' nobody!

Another is his pettiness in never forgetting a slight, no matter how minor. Thank you Mr. Vice President for saying you should have worn a mask.

His ‘leadership’ was pathetic. Now that he has taken the heat for his misdeed and apologized? FU Mike, too little way too late.

PHOENIX (AP) — Making himself Exhibit A for reopening the country, President Donald Trump visited an Arizona face mask factory, using the trip to demonstrate his determination to see an easing of stay-at-home orders even as the coronavirus remains a dire threat. Trump did not wear a mask despite guidelines saying they should be worn inside the factory at all times.

Of course he didn't. Idiot didn't also unequivocally say he would get vaccinated. If you are that unsure, why the push for a vaccine, asshole.

Republicans More Likely Than Democrats to Refuse Coronavirus Vaccine: PollSome Republicans in the U.S. may not be lining up to receive a vaccine for the coronavirus when it becomes available, according to polling data released Tuesday by Morning Consult. Social distancing guidelines and mitigation practices have been shown to reduce the number of coronavirus cases in the country, but many governors do not believe that they can fully complete their state's reopening plans until a vaccine is ready for distribution. Republicans are almost three times as likely to refuse vaccination for coronavirus as Democrats. While only 7 percent of Democrats said they would not be vaccinated against the virus, 20 percent of Republicans polled said they would choose not to receive the vaccine. Overall, 64 percent of adults polled said they would get a vaccine, including 61 percent of Republicans. Seventy-one percent of Democrats said they would be vaccinated against the virus. "I don't think ultimate resolution comes until you have a vaccine," New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told radio personality Howard Stern in April. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said at a Tuesday news briefing that without a vaccine for coronavirus, there was no way for life in the state to return to normal. Complete article here: link

He can't say that because then he loses a large part of his base. Gotta appeal to the religious anti-vaxxers who believe that their faith in God is all they need. Hence that bizarre cult leader straight out of a zombie movie tweet he put out too.

I read somewhere that Wings "Live and Let Die" was playing in the background. I don't know if it's true, but if it is, it's perfect.

On the other side are anti-vaxxer. First group won't be able to grasp that you can't just magically get 300 million doses made, and first in line needs to be the first responders. Other group will wonder why the disease continues to appear in there are if there is a vaccine, even though you need at least 70% ot the population to be vaccinated before spread slows. Would be entertaining if it wasn't so serious.

I am very pro vaccine. I've made a point to make sure I'm up to date with adult boosters, have gotten the pneumonia vaccine since I was diagnosed with asthma, and while it was a bit more spotty before then have had the flu shot the last 6 years and most of the 5 before that. Hell my mom took me down for gardasil the moment our insurance said they officially put it in the free vaccine category - so quick she had to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed for the first shot because the doctors office didn't have the update info.
That said I am a bit uncertain about how fast it seems they're rushing this and corners that are cut. I'm also very worried that if the rushing and corner cutting has any negative impact that it will give anti vaxxers great ammo that will put us at risk for more viruses than just this one.

This is a difficult situation. A vaccine is necessary to getting us out of this with the least mortality, but there needs to be some safeguards. If the vaccine is made based on some settled science, some steps could be skipped, and human testing could begin quickly. If it is a new idea, it gets trickier. But for someone in my position, regularly being exposed to infected individuals, I would have little concern about volunteering for a trial. Not like there is no risk to the status quo. But looking at it from another viewpoint, I understand your posisition.

What a weird thing to report. They were playing all types of songs (e.g., rock, opera, country, etc.) in the background before Trump arrived and during his visit. He was at the site for 3 hours and people were congregating there for at least 1 hour before that. It wasn't the same song over and over again.

I was wondering if it was a company soundtrack, you know, like Muzak in the stores vs. the Administration insisting on it.

No, it was not a company (Honeywell) soundtrack. The White House was responsible for that.
ETA: There is no music in that building (or any others at the site) during production.

I saw a video of it yesterday, from someone who attended (I guess). I wasn't sure why there was music. It didn't seem like it was when he was walking or being introduced. Someone was talking to him about the masks, and they were inspecting one. Was it just that music is always on in the factory (true) or was this chosen by one of Trump's people, or did an anti-Trump guy just play it and no one stopped him? So weird.
