weltschmerz you're probably right about his denying it. He denies knowing anything about the doc he had fired from the vaccine research. Said he didn't know him and never heard of him.

Given that Trump famously goes with whatever the last person put in his ear, does anyone think that half of his advisors are just pranking him and he's too stupid to realize it?

He had someone on talking about ‘what we know’ about covid... which includes disinfectants kill it and sunshine and humidity seem to slow it down... which he on the spot decided might be good ‘cures’ to try. Light heat and disinfectant... he seemed to be suggesting injection or somehow cleaning the lungs with it? You should have seen Birx face...

Setting yourself on fire after covering yourself in hand sanitizer would probably work faster.

My guess is people will do small doses of something - like maybe licking the hand sanitizer. What is likely to happen if they did that every day? I would think digestive problems. And if that is permanent, Medicare for all will be treating that for years to come.

He said he's not a doctor, just there to present ideas, just there to present talent. Ideas? Talent?

After backlash, WH claims Trump disinfectant 'ingestion' idea taken 'out of context' "President Trump has repeatedly said that Americans should consult with medical doctors regarding coronavirus treatment, a point that he emphasized again during yesterday's briefing," White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said. "Leave it to the media to irresponsibly take President Trump out of context and run with negative headlines."www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/after-backlash-wh-claims-trump-disinfectant-ingestion-idea-taken-out-of-context/ar-BB139qXx?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=spartandhpIOut of context? How so? The media reported exactly what that idiot said. I watched him say it. Every time he says something profoundly stupid, his minions claim it was out of context.

www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-vice-president-pence-members-coronavirus-task-force-press-briefing-31/THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. So I asked Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that too. It sounds interesting. ACTING UNDER SECRETARY BRYAN: We’ll get to the right folks who could. THE PRESIDENT: Right. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me Official WH transcript of what he said.

Does his press secretary have to drink before heading to the podium?

he should not be joking about stuff like this.
so, claiming that he WAS is just as wrong as saying it in the first place.

He wasn't joking. He was sincerely talking his stream of thought. Its the usual pattern. Say something stupid or provocative. Then the WH says its out of context or he didn't say it. Then play the it was really sarcasm card. Very predictable.

I was talking with my wife about this and she said, "Oh, he would rather be thought of as a dick than an idiot."
