I flipped past fox last night and they were ranting that this virus came from a lab, I just kept flipping. They are the only one that has said anything like that. CNN is reporting that the intelligence community is investigating it, but they have found nothing that supports the theory (so far). Fox is reporting that it was made in a lab, injected into a bat, the bat bit a scientist, and he was asymptomatic and walking around spreading it all over. Show me some proof, Fox news.

The question is, why? Why is this suddenly something for Trump to whine about? Who does he suddenly NEED to appoint that congress won't approve? Or is it just more distraction to cover for some other thing he doesn't want us to notice? Its a distraction. I think he'll move onto something else when he and his campaign see it doesn't get enough traction.

See, I heard it was injected into a fly, and there was an old lady who swallowed a fly... This was reported on Fox's new subsidiary, Fox Newsery Rhymes. I hear The Donald's a big fan, although it often frightens and confuses him, making him ornery if too close to nappy time.

The Chinese aren't that smart either When you think about everything that had to go wrong if it was unintentional or everything that had to go right if it was intentional PLUS all the people you'd have to silence. . .the math just doesn't work. I've done animal research for 13 years and I can tell you right now the odds of this rumor being true are slim to none. They've said the same thing about HIV, Ebola and Swine Flu. Here is the thing, we are animals just like every other animal on this planet. What infects one animal technically could make the leap to every other animal on the planet over time. We are not special snowflakes. Viruses survive by infecting things and the more things they can adapt to infect the better they survive. We have been in an arms race against viruses since day one.

Just about everything I have read have said that genetically it has come from the wild. I’m gonna go with what the genetic virologists say, not Fox.

Or is that just specific to Superman. Hydrocholorquine is being touted as a cure for COVID when it's an antimarlaria, so why not give it a try?

Who uses bats in virus research? Yes that is where I draw the line. I must be smart. I just said the same thing on another thread. I'm so, um, limited where science is concerned that I flunked a class called General Science in high school. It was the class for the kids who were too dumb to take biology. In college after just a week of class, the biology/zoology instructor "invited" me to drop the class and try again the next semester because I was holding my lab partner back. For instance: We were told that atoms and molecules can't be seen. Then we were instructed to draw a picture of an atom and one of a molecule. Top right of my paper had my name, class #, date. No pictures. They were there; they just couldn't be seen. That's why no matter how hard I look, I can't find those darned coronas and kill 'em. They're like atoms and molecules. I can spell and punctuate and know where Figi is and the main crop in Uruguay and that pineapples don't grow on trees.

OMG, we have been cooped up too long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'll be okay until we all start singing Ring around the Rosie since that was about the plague. When we all fall down we're doomed/dead. But then we get to retire to a country house outside Florence and read the Decamerone to each other - though Italy doesn't sound that attractive a destination at the moment. Maybe we can find a nice place in Napa instead

It is a beautiful city but Italy is not high on my list of places to go to right now. And the area outside Florence is a wine region hence my vote for Napa, but a nice place on the Pacific coast (where the beaches are not closed sounds good as well)
