The sign of intelligence is to change your mind when facts are different. Our actions have had a positive effect on the course of the pandemic. Projections change as facts change. Or is this too hard for you to understand. Do I need to type slower. 'Our actions' lead by Trump. Take your own advice when Trump changes his mind. Fauci was saying in January that the virus wouldn't be a big threat, just like Trump did. Yet Trump is being criticized for saying that but Fauci isn't. So apply your 'signs' to everybody and don't be a hypocrite. Trump left the response up to the governors, remember. Trump, not Fauci ios president. Or is he not in charge?

Nothing can guarantee his election. I agree. Just Peachy doesn't: "Trump's leadership during this pandemic is going to guarantee his re-election." So, I'm waiting from an answer from her on this statement. Of course ! An absolute statement like that will be hard to defend. I wouldn't worry about the economy a whole lot, the fundamentals remain the same, except for the 'pause' that is in effect because of the virus. The required limits on economic activity, aren't caused by any specific fault in the economy. It will come right back, if anything it will restart too quickly and cause inflationary pressure due to pent up demand. Just my prediction.

Thank goodness others in the US stepped up and provided some leadership.

I support border security and building of the wall. If other countries enforce their border security, then why shouldn't the US enforce our border security? I would not be averse to voting for a Democrat if they ever find anyone to run who isn't a clown. I predicted last year that they would be stupid enough to choose Biden as a nominee, and I was right.Anyway, I also have two forums (links in my signature). I look forward to getting to know other members here. ETA: Btw, personal attacks against me will not go unchallenged, so don't dish it out if you can't take it. Yup. A sign of stupidity it is.

That doesn't give me any right to claim that I had a leadership role in making it happen.

I'm very happy the predicted number of deaths has been lowered. I hope the new models are correct.

Here's a platter with your ass on it: *hands you platter with your ass on it*.

If there is some epidimolgist out there who Trump is relying on, shouldn't we see him/her instead of Fauci? Trump keeps the guy next to him at his briefings, so he must by relying on him somehow. If I think someone is a bozo and doesn't know what they're talking out, I'm not going to let them speak to the public as part of the administration.

Here's a platter with your ass on it: *hands you platter with your ass on it*. Makes a big difference, but since you are so ensconced in your own belief system, you can't even envision another outcome. I am not a psychic, but I know quite a bit about medicine. And what I know, is that over 90% of people will still likely be susceptible to this infection after this first round. So even if "only"60,000 die from this round. More deaths are around the corner. How many, is anyones guess. But its not being over means that life will not be "normal". So crow about how Trump was rightand Fauci was wrong all you want. I will need to deal with the reality as I just explained. But prefer to "own" the liberals. Much more effective than trying to make things better.

You're attempting a false cause fallacy.

How is just peachy not violating the COC? I'm genuinely curious. She comes on here, stirs the pot, make outrageous claims with nothing to back them up, and continues to insult posters....

Want to know how ridiculous this thread is. Fauci didn't make the predictions. He got them from the IMHE site, a bunch of statisticians who update their formula based on what is in fact happening. Justpeachy seems to think that our actions do not affect the predictions, or he is trolling us. Then he calls everyone who doesn't agree with him stupid, and declares himself a winner. He has no real desire to have a rationale discourse. We should all just ignore him

Stirring the pot is just conversation. She's just responding to those calling her names. Because more are insulting her by number, doesn't make it any more correct for the bigger number of posters. So it's being left alone for now ?

Republicans standing on the bodies of 60,000 dead & celebrating is a new low even for them.

Yet, last week as many as 240,000 Americans were possibly going to die from this thing even if we did 'everything right.' That was straight from Dr. Fauci. "Fauci did not say which model he is using to come up with the estimate ." no model was needed. you can do the math in 10 seconds on a calculator.

if you don't know the difference, then keep yourself ignorant and pro-trump. No one really cares about your senseless crowing. Well - the comedy part is nice. you have no information, no facts, nothing to offer in conversion or reasoned argument about any of these topics. you are part of a cult-like devotion that defies logic. fine - feel free. Do you need to post this drivel to receive the reinforcement you need to keep engaged in your delusional belief system? If you aren't fighting against the "democrats" and their imagined conspiracies, what have you got? I am not the topic of this thread -- Dr. Fauci is. If you can't defend him and have to create a diversion by attacking me, just admit it and move on. did it occur to you that scaring the crap out of the American public is maybe the only way to change their behavior?
if so, you should be thanking him, not mocking him.
