So how will that mesh with trump's plan to "open" the country, except for what he's calling "a few hot spots," by May 1? How long will those spots that aren't hot spots stay that way if the economy is rebooted?
Looks like Georgia won't be able to participate in trump's big celebration.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told CNBC on Thursday that he believes companies could reopen in May as long as Trump "feels comfortable with the medical issues."
As long as trump feels comfortable with the medical issues? What?
ETA: Kemp changed his mind. Not May 13 any longer. April 20. Oh, goody. We can celebrate along with trump, providing, of course, that he feels comfortable with the medical issues.

As long as trump feels comfortable with the medical issues? What? Well, the power to send people back to work rests with the governors. I'm pretty sure Gov Inslee is not going to kowtow to trump's edicts

I think the county that has the largest death per 100,000 is in rural GA. I don't know how they are defining hot spots.

IIRC, he said "rural" areas. Albany is certainly rural!

And that's the thing. One person goes to a choir practice and 50 people get sick and several die... People are most contagious when they are asymptomatic.
Any place could be tomorrow's hot spot if we don't have testing and protocols in place.

Well, we will see what happens in our state after Easter Sunday. Most churches have gone virtual; however, our governor was one that classified churches as essential services so some are meeting in person. I'm not sure how many across the state will hold in person services for Easter but it is definitely concerning.

I suspect we will have a second wave across our county because of this and family bbq's on Easter weekend.

I took on a new position yesterday, I am now going to be the intake person for new clients in a Covid 19 positive facility. I have been crying because I am scared, but the only one who can do it because I am the youngest in the office who can. I hope that everything turns out ok, but this is not what I signed up for in Human Resources. I am not religious, but pray for me.

This virus is a weird beast...unless you have underlying medical conditions you should be okay. You are very much appreciated.

MarleyKeezy78, are you being given appropriate PPE, including N95 mask? Please say yes.

We will definitely lift you up in prayer, MarleyKeezy78 ! And, if it helps your nerves, and you have a Bible around your house, the Book of Psalms has some chapters that are calming when the world seems to have turned to chaos. (Been there, done that, not with coronavirus, but when life goes crazy...)
