Trying to log into my Chase Business Account and it logged me out, told me it did not recognize my device (My phone I log in on all the time) and then sent me a "code to verify my identify. It was a log ass sting of what looked like Chinese characters. I have never seen a verification code so long, so I did not copy and paste it. But now I am on hold. they are only taking limited calls and even their on-line service is backed up b/c of PPP applications. Which is what I was trying to figure out to begin with - did they accept our application, or not?
I can't try to log in from my work computer because my browser is incompatible and it has not been updated.
I just feel like, hell everyone else is still open, how the hell come my bank is not essential too.
DH deposited a deposit the other day for work, and did not look at the receipt, and they did not record the $590 in cash he had in the deposit. He is just out that amount. That is actually a small amount of cash for him, on Saturdays I often have $3,000 or more in cash. You shouldn't have to deposit that kind of cash through a drive through window.
I’d go back to the bank. They should reconcile the cash to the receipts for cash every day. And they should have been out of balance by the amount of the cash your DH deposited. If DH goes back and asks quickly, the bank will probably give him credit for the deposit. Dawdle or ignore it and it becomes the bank’s money. I’ve complained when the on site ATM shorted me $5 on a withdrawal. The bank verified the the ATM had $5 more cash than it should have and adjusted my account. If the bank can validate $5 in an ATM, they can validate larger discrepancies in deposits at the branch.

The article is probably correct about reduced air pollution, but it misses a key fact. The South Coast Air Quality Management District recognizes that much of the air pollution in the LA basin does not come from cars and trucks. (The SCAQMD reports that auto emissions have been reduced to about 11% of what they were in 2000.) The biggest source of LA air pollution is ship engines. From ships coming and going from the Port of San Pedro, the Port of Long Beach, and the Port of Los Angeles. With factories shut down in the Far East, I’d imagine that ship traffic at the ports is, like automotive traffic, down significantly. Emissions from ship engines is pretty much unregulated. And the fuel used is not refined to be low emissions. I lived in The LA area during a Longshoreman’s strike. It only took a couple of days to see the impact of having dozens of ships at anchor off the port on the air quality. The basin was covered by a brown haze. You could taste engine exhaust in the air. And my sinuses were irritated and my nose ran. Once the strike was resolved, the air quality improved dramatically. It’d be kind of nice if reporters made the effort to really understand the issues they are reporting on. Instead of simply filling column inches with poorly informed, superficial writing by people pretending to actually inform the public. In this case, it ain’t the cars, it’s the ships!

He is sure he sent in through tube-he said if he did nor give it to teller, then he should have the cash in one of his deposit bags. It is not anywhere. He looked. Thanks though.

All of our banks are now drive up only. I need to set up an account for the proceeds of condo I’m selling. Condo was in 3rd party special needs trust as my sister was disabled. I’ve been avoiding thinking of how to do this, closing is April 25.

My wife works at a bank and they just recently did away with "by appointment only" stuff in the lobby/in person. Now they're emailing out applications that they normally have available in-person that they fill out themselves. They aren't allowing anyone into the lobby, but they're going to the lobby door to take the applications and forms of ID and whatever other paperwork is necessary...and then if they need to talk to the person they are going to their office, having the customer go sit in their car in the parking lot, and talking over the phone. Then they pass items back through the lobby door again. It's basically just a much bigger drive-up window using the door instead.

I'm the person who used to go the grocery store several times a week, different grocery stores - Aldi, Giant Eagle, Marcs, Sams. For the past 4 weeks I have gone once a week. I actually like it. As something gets used up it goes on the list. I did go to Target and Sams today because I had to pick up stuff for my dad. I want to continue NOT stopping at the store several times a week after my work returns to going in the office every day. It was convenient for me to stop at the store, but I spent a lot more money doing that.

Hmmm - did they have multiple drive ups is service when DH was there? Wonder if his cash could have been mistakenly deposited to another customer’s account? My drive up receipt from today has a transaction number as well as a date and time stamp. It shouldn’t be too difficult for the bank to check to see if another account got cash deposited of a matching amount at about the time of your DH’s transaction. Or at the end of the shift, when everything is being cleaned up and reconciled. And to match customer prepared deposit slips to the way transactions were recorded by the bank. If you think the bank screwed up, keep pushing. As long as their records balance, they really don’t have much incentive to figure out if they posted part of your DH’s deposit to someone else’s account. And whoever may have benefited from an incorrect deposit to their account has little incentive to report the error to the bank, and throw the bank’s records out of balance so the bank has to figure out where the cash really should have been deposited.
