Expensive scarves. Also designer clothing. Of course she is well paid, but right now when people are in food lines and waiting for UE and a $1200 check you might want to dress down a bit.
People at the top just don't get it, but that is not the thing to do right now.

Yeah, my unemployment is $370 a week. I'm guessing each scarf is more than that!! Make face masks!!

I generally have a new or newer vehicle and I like really nice ones. When we rent a place hubs wants me to drive his truck its a 2006. He says you don't want to go all dressed up. I also don't wear my one ring I wear all the time and other jewelry, its not the time to do it.
I think that's why we don't have issues, hubs generally has old work clothes on, will fix anything, and he sure does not try and act better then anyone. People realize if they see our home that we are not exactly poor but I think we have struck a balance with those folks on appreciating how hard we work too. It does make a difference.

You missed my point. It was a joke about her scarves! I'm not poor. Yes I am on unemployment which is a fucking joke!! I purchased a lower end home for my kids and I 11 yrs ago that I knew I could afford no matter what. I shop sales. I drive a Range Rover because I got an amazing deal- 40% off.

No, I didn't, you do not try to look well of in front of poor people struggling. she does not need to do that right now.
I'm sure you are ok, no reflection on you. And we are fine too, but sometimes you want to downplay that. In Houston its fine, here in a small town if we didn't have rentals I could. With her right now, try to dress down some. It's always different for women. Men can wear $5k suits, women in her position can look very well put together but not be ostentatious.
In fact I'm not sure what she is doing there right now, I don't hear her add anything of value.

I live in a smaller suburban area. I dress down even as a CFO. I have gone on numerous interviews and the boss has worn jean?

Why should she dress down when the men she is standing with on that podium are wearing suits that cost as much, or more? This is pretty sexist. Women in professional positions just can’t win, and her own gender is the worst.

What she is doing of value is tracking the virus in the entire country and working with universities throughout the world to estimate spread of virus, sickness and deaths. She brings reality to what is happening based on actual data But because people don’t like trump they dismiss the work of a world class expert that the US is fortunate to have

I was thinking something similar but I also believe that comments like this distract us from what we need to focus on. This is very much a case of "corona virus is... oh look over there SHINY... It is no secret that I despise trump but, in response to Jersygirl's comment, that doesn't mean that I don't respect scientist like dr. Fauci or Dr. Brix. They are the only people worth listening to during this crisis. I like to hear what experts think. The man who considers himself the anointed one...not so much

Both she and Fauci are burning the candle at both ends and are bearing the brunt.....so SHE gets belittled because she wears an expensive scarf. I just don’t get the purpose of this. She is incredibly well educated, but some care more about what she wears.

I don’t care what she wears. I do care that when she was asked about health care providers lacking PPE, she claimed she had no knowledge of that

Dr Birx is tracking the epidemiology and spread of the disease and encouraging behavior that will reduce the spread. Why can’t people be grateful to those who dedicate their lives to helping people, Dr Birx has spent many years working to decrease AIDS and some people will leap on anything to trivialize anyone who is working with trump. Because Trump

You can say anything you want, I was a professional person. You dress up its to much, the other women resent you, you dress down you are not looking professional.
When I worked I always dressed well. I wore suits, had my hair and makeup nice. Never had my nails done, would have been pointless the work I did at home. Because I had a job that had been male before and had more freedom and flexibility the women hated me. But I didn't fit with the men either. Sometimes its hard to make your way in such a world, I did but was never able to strike that balance. And no she should not have to dress down, doesn't really matter to me. But it just doesn't present a good image when you are on TV going out to 40% of the people that don't have $400 to rub together. And I can tell you the men may not but a majority of the women know what her clothes cost.
I'm just stating what I see, not arguing about it. Believe as you like doesn't matter to me.

She has started kissing up to him of late. Lost my respect, but she has to or she would be gone like everyone else. So survival I guess.

How useful would it be to the US for Trump to get pissed off and fire both her and Fauci? Then the US would be in a world of hurt, and both realize this. It is pretty shortsighted to not realize that both of them understand this and are doing what they can to try to help.

Even my mom said they look like from the 80s. And I never stated that her scarves were Hermes. I mentioned she wears a LOT. Donate them!!

We can't afford to have the few experts left to make politics their hill to die on.

I wouldn't be there long. I just can't kiss up to someone like that. It is so degrading.
And it doesn't matter how much they do, it will be some tiny misstep and he will kick them aside, find the most unqualified person around and put them in charge. I am totally disgusted with him.
I hope Rachel Maddow is correct. She said look why Obama got elected, bushs failure in Katrina and he only caused 2000 to die. Going to be many more thousands then he. Hopefully, as family members across the US die, their families finally come to their senses. What a horrible statement to make, but their deaths have to stand for something. There would be deaths anyway but I don't think it would have been this bad.
I don't think its going to end for months, sadly.

It ranks right up there with practically climbing into someone's grocery cart to see what they are buying. Apparently what she wears is more important to some than what is said ? Says a lot about the critics maybe and less about her clothing choice?? But not judging as we all have our PRIOITIES.

I'm in the party that doesn't notice. I couldn't even tell you what she's worn because it's immaterial to me. I listen to her, not watch her wardrobe for mistakes or missteps.
It's sad to see that she's being judged for her clothing.

How can you all tell how expensive her clothes and the men's suits are? To me, people either look neat and professional, or they don't. I have no idea how to tell the difference about how expensive something is. I suspect that most of the poor/unemployed are similar to me, without the specialized knowledge to figure out the cost.

I did notice the scarf one of the first times I saw her and now she is "The Scarf Lady" to me. I like when people have a "thing" that makes them them and thus easily identifiable.
