I already have pretty short hair, and no real desire to grow it out. I bought a pair of clippers, and some blending sheers, and plan to keep it trimmed using those. I already did one pass, and it wasn't too tragic.
I have always kinda wanted to buzz it, but so far I have resisted temptation.

I was able to put my hair in pig tails for the first time in over a decade. My daughters were properly amused. 11 yo said it looked like a toddler do - you know when it's short and wispy and the mama just barely can scoop it up to pull it back. I made sure to point out to them that I have now shown the whole neighborhood AFTER our walk together LOL.

I am washing DD's hair and going to go outside and cut it. I have looked all over for the electric trimmers for the bottom and can't find them. But I have my scissors so will do what I can till I can find the durn things. It's 68 out so that should work, here's hoping.

My hair is one length and can grow as long as it has to. H. shaves what little hair he has. A woman in our resort cuts hair but does not have a current license.

My friend had her hair done twice a week. Her entertainment. A few weeks ago, she went shorter. The last time I saw her, she had a wig. A lot of workable options for her.

We purchased good hair clippers. I’ve cut DH’s hair twice now. One more cut and it’ll cover the price of the clippers.
I have my hair dyed as I’ve a lot of grey even though I just turned 40. I fortuitously had a regular hair appointment on March 6. I’m just now at the “ugh, another week until my hair gets done.” I’m not sure what’ll do until I can get it redone. I may have to dye it myself.

I talked to my youngest sister the other night. She told me she tried to trim her bangs. It didn't go well.

I have a bald head. And I cut my beard down with clippers I bought. I'm saving $60/month.

I’m going to trim my bangs and let the rest grow. DH has always had longish hair so no issues there.
Even when salons do open, I don’t plan to go.

If mine keeps growing I will be able to do a pony tail. I trimmed it last month, just around the bottom. Been a long time since my hair has been longer. I have to roll it every 2 to 3 days. A pain, instead of being able to blow it dry. DD's is a mess, guess I will let it keep growing, don't know what else to do.

I need 6 to 8 inches cut iff my hair. It was too long before the SIP took place but I had a vacation coming up and I was really busy so I kept postponing. When I could not get it cut and colored, I decided I would give up coloring for the duration as well. Well I gave up on that today and my white stripe (which was now almost two inches wide at the part) looks nomal again. I will now forevermore be known as a quitter

I've trimmed my bangs. They are too short and uneven, but better than being in my eyes.
I'm not sure when I will feel comfortable getting a hair cut. Not yet.

Except I haven't given up yet. And my hair is only half silver! I thought I'd be mostly white, by how it looked when it started growing. I'm ready to be a quitter, too.

I'd love to be a quitter but the last few times I used hair color, my head itched like a bitch. I will consider a henna rinse or something but not sure how it would go on my half- silver hair. I have also discovered I really don't like this fugly light brown hair that I apparently have. I much prefer my burgundy. Waaah!!!!!

I've never tried this before, but I've been waiting for pastel purple to come back into stock so that I can. Maybe one of the red colors would work for you? overtone.co/collections/shop-by-color-purple

Yeah, I live about an hour from Springfield and I'm a Great Clips customer. I can wait. It's sad news all around- I suspect those stylists went back to work while sick because they needed the money.

What is a little frightening is the number of asymptomatic people out there. Taking temperature before an person mingles with the public means diddly squat if a person exhibits no symptoms.

I don't do purple but the red and rose gold for medium brown hair are pretty much what I'm looking for! Kinda steep but they sound like they'd be good for my hair. I may ask if my niece is at all comfortable with wielding scissors yet. She just started beauty school before all this hit and I don't know how far she got. I did tell her I'd be a guinea pig for her so maybe sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I find that pretty useless. As I passed through the Lima airport in March, a guy was walking up to each of us and aiming a scanner at each person's forehead until it beeped. Whatever makes them feel good. At this point you'd hope that someone with a fever or a hacking cough would stay home (other than the ones desperate to get money so they can eat), so checking temperatures isn't going to turn up a lot of cases.

I think Pants @bsbbound recommended it on here a long time ago, so of you have any questions about it, she may be able to answer them. I'm taking advantage of being stuck at home to experiment with this-- or trying to, if they ever get my color back in stock.

My hair is all one length and the last time it was cut was 2 years and 3 months ago. I had it cut up to my ears and at this point it's half-way down my back. As soon as I start catching it when I turn over in bed, then it's time for a cut.

The number of people who go to work sick is significant. Even though asymptotic people can spread the disease, preventing ill people from spreading it is also important. Decreasing the “concentration” of the virus in the environment is what is important. Remember, especially in medicine, the perfect is the enemy of the good

I start a furlough week on Thursday. I think I'm going to take the kids to the great state of WI to get a haircut on that day. We'll see what the wait time looks like.

I bought some thinning shears and did a long inverted Bob the other day tapering from shoulder length in back to 5" longer in front with lots of layers and bangs. Turned out pretty good. Ended up going back and making the back a little shorter a few days later... Was scared to go too short can always cut more but it takes months to grow back.
I also color my hair at home dark red low lights first using a highlighting cap then all over strawberry blonde that softens the low lights and makes the grey look like highlights.
I used to do perms and cut hair for myself and family and friends when I was younger. Thinking I'll just keep doing it myself.... Takes longer but saves $20 on the cut and I don't have to worry about the stylist cutting the length too short

I got a haircut today for the 1st time in months.
I usually tip $5 for a $24 haircut. Today's haircut was $27 because I had to make an appointment instead of a walk-in, which costs less. I decided since she had to do twice the usual work to cut my hair, and the fact she was out of work for almost 3 months, I doubled the tip to $10.
My question to others: Are you adding $ to the tip to help offset the months out of work or the fact that this 1st haircut back requires more work than a usual haircut?

I got my hair colored last night. I started in one chair, b/c she had another customer in it, then went to the dryer, b/c this color sets by steam, then back to her chair to pull the color through, then to the wash bowl, and had my brows waxed, so another chair, then back to her chair. She has to wipe down every chair you sit in. I always tip 20%, I tipped extra last time I got my hair done, so I just threw an extra 2 which put the tip closer to 30%.

I'm going on Saturday for the first time since February.
I always tip well (it's a small shop -- just 2 stylists), but will tip extra tomorrow because I know they were closed for 2 months and had bills to pay and young families to feed.

I got my hair cut a few days ago, which delights me. I'm almost civilized again. It did give my stylist a 30% tip; they'd been closed for 3 months, just about.
