I'm doing a bit worse symptom wise today - after having on and off symptoms for about 2 weeks. Sitting in my chest with a weird cough and a little breathy at times. pretty sure it is covid.
I wish there was some info on if you have symtoms x long it won't likely get serious or such. I would love a test but that isn't likely unless I need some medical care and I don't right now and hope none of us do.
In regards to the OP - there is a high death rate for the vulnerable, and nonzero death rate for the perfectly healthy as well.
So - I don't think we can say just get it. I think some spots are trying to sequester the vulnerable and let everyone else get it/get over it? But how do you enough have had it to be protective of the vulnerable?
I hope we hear more on a vaccine. But what about the anti-vaxxers?

I think I read that day 8-9 tend to be the worst. If you're not in the hospital 2 weeks in, I think you're probably doing good. There was an article I read that had a chart on a study of China's first patients. I think I linked it on the timeline thread. I'm sorry I don't have time to go fetch it right now. Got another video meeting for one of my kids starting in a few.

Anything is possible, but the studies so far have shown a very slow rate of mutation in the virus. I believe they’ve counted 8 genetic strains worldwide but they only differ by about 11 of 30,000 base pairs. So if and when they come up with a vaccine it ought to be good for a significant period of time. With all the silent cases going on at some point they will have to have a general test for antibodies in your blood so they can do a simple fingerprick test to find out if you already have immunity. I do sincerely hope this damn thing manages to burn itself out in the next four weeks or so. soooo - technical! I had seen somewhere that after beating it the first time, there is something like a 14% reinfection rate. Elsewhere I did see something alarming that it worse with the reinfection as opposed to first time. Can't recall where this was - do you have any sources on these kinds of questions? Unfortunately my source was a Fauci discussion video that I don’t believe is in the public domain. I’ll keep an eye out. There are not a lot of peer reviewed studies since it’s all pretty new. The standard tests to date have largely been RT-PCR tests that are subject to a high false negative response rate, so it is very possible that the supposed reinfection was simply a continued infection, maybe combined with a secondary infection. Best wishes for a smooth continuing recovery!

Nephew who was presumed to have COVID-19 says he feels like his old self. He is 29 years old and healthy. Says he had a mild case. However, his 14 day self quarantine is not yet over.

I worry about the fools who don't fear it. My ISO thinks conspiracy the government created this in a lab, he doesn't know which government or why, he isn't a scientist. My neighbor is republican, Trump supporter. He is posting how many people die of heart disease or abortion to show this is minor. My brother and his wife aren't staying home much he goes to the grocery and hardware store about everyday and to the dog park. My niece went to her son's apartment to take him a birthday cake and he hugged her, she is letting her daughter go to her dad's. Her dad is working, brother works for dad and a bunch of others work there, brother has a woman roommate with a boyfriend who is always there, not living there. So their are dozens of connections. I am home all alone might get groceries every 10 days to 2 weeks, don't trust my family not to get it so can't even visit them. My nephew is serious about it, his wife is at risk so they are home alone not going anywhere, grocery pickup only.

Watched the Covid conference on tv today. If anyone thinks Trump and the medical team is downplaying the pandemic the person has not been listening for weeks. The message especially for us in NJ and NY is grim

It was grim here in Feb Yes very scary! my oldest grandson is in Seattle and goes to Univ of Washington and was in San Francisco on an internship when the city was locked down But the medical experts now have more data to show what is going to be horrid Interesting that today Dr Berx talked about when Wuhan was closed down it was thought this would be similar to SARS. SARS had some spread but nothing like CV. SARS was in South Korea and informed their response to CV, testing symptomatic for no cost and very aggressive flow up on contacts. SK was able legally to get credit card and individual phone tracking to find contacts. In the US this can’t legally be done (not yet anyway). In China police went to houses and dragged out family members of sick people and brought them to those large temporary hospitals, in some cases mailed peoples doors shut to keep in quarantine, had drones following people etc (grandson in Seattle married to girl from China with relatives in province next to Hubei)

States are run by people, and people kind of naturally seek to hoard in times of crisis. That goes double when there's also an uncertainty involved. And then hoarding begets hoarding. If i ask for exactly what I need, and every other state asks for 4x what they need...I'm more likely to get less than what I need in a time of limited resources.

That why Florida’s getting everything they ask for? He openly said he only calls back and works with governors who are "nice to him". I'd assume that's why FL is on the "nice" list...

Yeah, it only took 2 months and over 3000 deaths for him to get serious don't forget the bodies piled up in his old neighborhood in Queens It's hitting an area he knows well. Now it's personal. Before it was just a bunch of dead bodies that he couldn't relate to.

Trump told Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to bid higher on PPE. That we aren’t getting what we need because Trump is outbidding us and paying more. Seriously, it’s now OPENLY f’in profit driven??!!

No matter how much people try to give trump a pass, once the shit hit the fan in Italy, preparations should have been made and serious discussions held. He still didn't get it. And the testing fiasco is on his plate, no matter how much he denies it. He now wants to fix the roof since it was raining. There was ample warning to take action. People will die because of the federal response. On NPR, they had General McChrystal talking about lessons he learned. One is that this should be a national response. Telling governors to outbid others for supplies isn't it. The pandemic will last longer die to the uncoordinated response. That's at his feet too. Its fine to think he is getting better, but we will be much worse off if he doesn't. Doesn't excuse his previous behavior

By warehouses do you mean the spaces they are turning into makeshift hospitals in anticipation of the incoming surge? Because these things can be predicted ... In fact ALL of this could be predicted. And I'm going to stop there... although it just might be worth getting banned.
