There are a lot of elections coming up.
April 28 is supposed to be a special election to fill former Rep Chris Collins's NY 27 seat. It's piggybacked on the Democratic party primary vote that day. Even the candidate who should most benefit from holding it that day is saying we must postpone it. Next opportunity is the Republican primary in June, but that might be too soon. We're also pretty sure local school district budget votes set for May are in jeopardy.
So my district will likely remain unrepresented indefinitely, unless they can change state law and appoint someone (like the candidate who nearly unseated Collins in a heavily gerrymandered red district).

the GOP has been performing very poorly in elections for 3 years now.
I don't see anything in the current political or economic environment that will change their fortunes.

Even if he's going senile Biden is preferable as a leader to Trump. I trust Biden to defer to the people he surrounds himself with whereas Trump doesn't and seems to take issue with anyone else stealing his spotlight even when it's the experts who actually know what they're talking about. I remember stories about Reagan falling asleep during meetings in his second term while I believe his wife and cabinet stepped up. I'm not trying to make light of Biden's possible issues or Reagan's but I'll take them over Trump at this point as he's shown zero ability to actually lead.

I am acutely aware of the election schedule. It''s not like anyone can actually go out campaigning right now. Except for Trump, he's using his daily pressers as a campaign opportunity.

Joe Biden has shown no signs of "going senile". The displays that you may have seen on social media are not real- they were edited by who knows who to make them look worse than they are. Yes, dear ol' Joe is a gaffe machine and always has been. He has a stutter too, largely overcome, that sometimes slows him down. He is also an old man. I am not as fast as I used to be on the draw, and I am a lot younger than he. Slower does not mean senile though, by any means. ETA- Speaking of slow, editing to add the second "o" to "too" ha ha ha!

I'm baking a cake right now...well, the oven is doing the baking. But it took me nearly twice as long to put it together as it would have when I was younger. That doesn't mean I'm senile...I'm not, I'm just a bit slower & the correct words don't always come to mind quickly...but we get there.
MUCH better than an idiot who thinks he knows it all & can't defer to the experts!
