Not surprised. Prisons will be a hotbed for the virus.

That is going to run rampant thru the prison system. He's at Wende, but just a few days ago they found an employee at the Erie County holding center tested positive, and they are isolating several inmates there who were exposed to the employee. It sounds like Weinstein already had it, and brought it here from NYC.
Fabulous - the staff will bring it home to their families and their communities. Ugh, hadn't even thought about the fact it could jump from NYC to us that way. I know quite a few friends and neighbors with prison jobs.

I did a quick google search. NBC is headlining that inmates at the same prison as Weinstein have it. Others say Weistein has contracted Covid-19.
Covid-19 is already in our state prisons. A corrections worker tested positive. The gov is now not allowing any more folks to be moved from county jails to prison. Which is now making county folks unhappy.
We have a hair less than 400 confirmed cases as of this evening.
I'd just go ahead and make the assumption that it won't run rampant in our prisons, but it is running rampant.

can prisoners even keep 6' away?
Seems an impossible task to keep it from spreading there. Very sad for the majority of prisons.
Wienstein, not so much I'm afraid.

wow - so easy to find prisoners. Just google the name and it tells you where they are. No clue about covid at this place though - nothing mentioned. The place where we know someone.

A client is a corrections officer. My assistant called her to clarify some information, and she has been told to expect a 14 day lockdown at her prison.

Yeah, corrections facilities are always big employers in rural areas. So what does a 14 day lockdown mean for the staff? I'm thinking about another school parent I know (mom of a classmate of DS5) - pretty sure she's a single parent with at least 3 kids in the MS/HS. Is she locked in the prison, leaving her kids alone, or does she go home and bring it back to her family? I can think of at least 4 people I know who work in corrections; one is my next door neighbor.
