I'm already nuts from the social isolation, this will likely finish me off.
Hubs says stay in as he is off to the house and where ever. He says I don't go anywhere, then I get $400 of Lowes receipts. I told him, he is exposing himself and us everytime he goes out to those places.
You cannot believe the people that were out and about today. I think they will have to lock Indiana down to stop it.
We now have 2 cases in the county north, 1 bordering on the east. I'm sure there are some here. And when they find it probably everyone will have been exposed.

And we are all going to have moments of feeling isolated but I will take that over illness and death.
And to keep this ym - want me to go look up how much a ventilator bill costs? It was some portion of the $122k bill for my husband's 13 day hospital stay.

Here is the thing though it takes the entire 14 day window for you to know if you are sick. Once you show symptoms it's too late to go back in time and avoid all of the people you saw. I'm not sure that even matters. There are people that never show symptoms, so just because they don't in 14 days doesn't mean they don't have it.

One meme I saw said don't take precautions so that you don't become infected. Take precautions as if you already are.

I'm kind of getting cabin fever already. It has rained here for 3 days in a row. I feel like walking outside is the only way I can make it through this. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear, thank goodness. I am already "over" this social distancing thing but know I have to hang in there since this is just the beginning. I did find some indoor exercise routines on you tube. That seems to help for the days I can't walk outside. I cleaned the whole kitchen and made hangers for my oven mitts out of old tights of Gwen's. I was standing there looking at them going "Crap it's only been a couple weeks and already I am losing it". Now I got into my head I want to make my own hamburger buns. Did I mention I am so not a baker? May have to talk to my work about doing a swing shift. We just can't expect my mom to do daily child care for possibly months on end. DH has already talked to his work and it is acceptable for him to take days off right now. I have a deal worked out for this week but don't know if it extends indefintely. Me working from 6-2 or 5 am to 1 pm would get the work that needs done done but give my mom time during the day to breathe. I did mention that to my boss but said let's get through till the 13th when school is alleged to open. IF they do not open (which so far fingers crossed) then I will have to look into the other options. My boss is trying to do our best to work with us and make us feel safe (anyone can take swing shift if they choose to limit exposure that way). What a mess. I wish people would stop telling me I am frustrated because I am being "inconvienced". It's not that at all I am already quite the introvert/home body so that part doesn't bother me at all. It's the complete upheaval and uncertainty. It's that on the one hand I have my company as a whole telling me tough shit and even going so far to ask if we will do our jobs without PPE (the answer was HELL NO) and then on the other being told I must want old people to die because I don't board myself up in my house (not this thread, more Facebook which I am going to take time off from).

I understand the feeling of being isolated.
DH and I took the trailer to a local county park where we met friends. We socialize outside around a campfire 6’ apart. It’s not the same as sharing a meal together, but it’s something.
I’m calling friends and family more often.
It’s a new way of life, but it’s not forever.

Have you thought about using Chewy to ship the cat food to you? Free shipping for orders over $49. I buy in bulk and it is easier for me receiving it at my front door than going from store-to- store stocking up. Especially now. I'm so glad you said this...it reminded me that they sent me a coupon a couple of weeks ago. I threw it in my coupon folder and forgot about it. I have never used them before but will give it a try. I use them for Chooch's food, as well. Never had a problem.

Depending on the day you order from them, it is usually two-day service. Right now due to wyat's going on, it might be three day. I'm happy with the service. When one shipment came up short of one 24-can box of cat food, they shipped it to me no charge and no questions. It is closer to a week now.

Daughter did the campfire with friends six feet apart thing a few days ago. Not ideal but helped break the edge for her. Will try to do something similar every week as possible. They are also setting up servers and online games which is helping somewhat. She’s at least been able to motivate to function better and classes start up online for her next week.

I'm staying home but already I'm getting stir-crazy. Arrived home from my trip just after midnight Thursday, so went grocery shopping Thursday and haven't been out since. So, really, I've been cooped up only 2 days and I still hate it. I'm determined to keep my grocery shopping to once per week. I've read that home improvement stores such as Home Depot are loaded with people ambling up and down the aisles. Crazy.
I wish it would warm up some- there are things I could do in the yard or the garden and I might go out for a walk.

My husband was one of those guilty of going to a home improvement store. Our kitchen is currently torn out, and we needed more primer. We also don't have lighting, which we are shopping for online, or a counter for the cabinets currently in our garage. I don't know what we're going to do about the counter situation, but I gotta tell you, being stuck at home and cooking everything at home during this sucks donkey balls. Bright side--I'm losing weight despite barely exercising last week.

I keep reading conflicting things about immunity and re-infection, but whatever is determined will have to come from other countries that are actually collecting data.

They are relatively inexpensive and even if it’s not used permanently you can lay it over the cupboards for the interim. They are infinitely useful later if you don’t want to use it in the kitchen permanently.

I'm going to the house and work tomorrow afternoon, there's nobody there. I was out, don't talk to people, don't have people in. Hubs brought a pizza home for dinner, I was not happy. I thought we agreed no food like that as I can see sick people preparing it. I would not let DD have a drink from fast food or food today. But we needed out. I go crazy isolated way out here anyway. After working tomorrow, going to have to finish, MIL's stuff. They will not have the landline installed in time so have to go to the grocery and have it faxed. I may just overnight mail it. But then a trip to the post office. You cannot email or anything online to the Indiana Medicaid offices, they are stuck in the dark ages. After I finish that, going to start going to the basement and walking on the treadmill, has been pouring outside here the last few days, 29 tonight. It's just miserable. I'm miserable. It's starting to get to me. I was home 3 days out of 5. 1 day in small town, today in and out. Yes, I know, but I'm still taking more precautions then 99% of these people. And I don't know how many days was here the week before, cancelled all our appointments, cancelled my massages, damn I miss those. Probably those more then anything. 25th is my birthday no dinner out, sigh. No cake unless I bake it. In case I forget, happy birthday.

I have not been anywhere since last Wednesday. That was a doctor appointment and grocery pick up. I did not go in to the store.
I honestly do not know how long my mental health will hold up. The isolation and knowing that I am not supposed to go out is extremely difficult for me.
I will continue to do it until this is over--except I think we are all kidding ourselves if we think a month and the world will return to normal.
I get Lucy's food on auto ship from Chewy. I did receive an email from them that they plan to take care of their auto ship customers first and the one off orders when they can. I appreciate them sticking with their long time customers.
I stocked up on some foods with long lasting shelf life. I did not buy mountains of anything and I won't.
I plan to grocery shop no more than once a week and will tie that to the same day as my therapy appointment.
Medical clinic is putting more restrictions on who can enter the building every day so I don't even know if that will happen and they are not yet set up for telemedicine. I do not know what will happen to me if I can't see my therapist.
I do have to call about my sump pump tomorrow, but that is a necessity in my house.
I am realizing I will not see my new great nephew when he is born. He will be moving to Canada supposedly by June 1 so I have no idea when I will see him.
I am totally isolated, with just a cat. This is no way to live but it's a sacrifice I must make for the good of society.
I don't want to catch it so I'm staying home. So far we have two confirmed cases in the county but I know that is way to low.
Testing can't be done on many people because there are no f***ing tests because of the way the federal government has handled this.
This isn't easy for anyone and it's going to get worse before it gets better. I have no sympathy for people that catch this who are just running around. None whatsoever.
I wish this state would go on lock down. Too many people are still doing too many stupid things.

I made my husband drive 2 1/2 hours to the city with the truck and bought like 8 at $75 each. We used only 1 in the kitchen but have 1 in the art room, one is a desk in son’s room, we cut up two for smaller things sold/gave 2 away and I think have 1 whole one left in the basement.

I'm on my 3rd week of being home. I count from the last Wednesday that I worked at the VA. Yesterday my super neighbor came over, we moved the chairs on the front porch to sit 6' apart, but we both know that neither of us have the virus. End the end, 2 more neighbor ladies were walking by and the 4 of us stood on my driveway sharing our stories.
I am so grateful for wonderful neighbors and that they are not ones that gripe about everything, call people names of those we don't agree with them etc. Life is too short (as we are all learning) to be so angry and bitter. My gratitude is getting easier and easier to have on a daily basis.

This is really a good solution, and we can always use it in the basement, if we were ever to finish it/ put a bar down there, so thanks again. Now I just hope and pray we all stay healthy long enough to get this thing mostly done. The contractor thinks this whole thing is overblown, bitching about it and calling it the Chinese flu. (You can guess where he got that term from.) It makes me worry a ton that he's not taking it seriously, and he's upper -50's, I think, so I worry he'll get really sick, too. I also worry about sending my DH out to get stuff, but we have to balance our household sanity a bit. Having this kitchen torn out is very stressful, and we're looking at living like this for months if we don't proceed now. I've been home since after work on the 17th. I tried days earlier, but I needed more things from the office to be able to work from home (a plug for my laptop). Wfh has been excruciatingly difficult this week, and my older co-workers are still going into the office/not too worried about the virus, so they probably think I should just come in too. My boss is quite understanding, but I have some deadlines to meet.

I'm going to see if I can get my work computer going at home today to test it out. They set up VPN access for me on Friday and I suppose I'd better verify I can actually get it all to work in case they make the call that I'm to work from home. I'm going to fight that until the bitter end though. I won't be able to get anything done at home and I'll have to be on the floor occasionally anyhow. If all the schedulers, configs and account managers are already home my row of cubes is totally empty and I'm not going to come into contact with people anyhow.
I loathe stores so avoid them even without a virus scare...however I'm also really bad at meal planning and food stocking, so I imagine once or twice a week to the grocery and/or gas station. I also plan to continue getting take out once a week to help the local restaurants. A couple of them in town are taking orders online and using Venmo or Paypal for payment. You just pull into the parking lot, text them you're there and they run it out to your car.

I had to go to Walgreens to get my Mom some more extra strength tylenol, she recently had hip replacement surgery, this is truly a need. They had boxes marked on the floor with tape leading up to the check stand and each box had an X in it. The CVS I stopped into on Friday to pick up DF new insulin prescription had the same markings at the pharmacy and check out register. Also there was only 1 chair to sit and wait.

We bought leftover pieces of countertop material and hubs made closet shelving with it. Hard as heck to saw and had to cut off the backs, but what wonderful durable shelving he made in our last house. Never had to be painted, durable and beautiful. I wish we had it here.

I suppose so, but I think I'd prefer more of a real countertop to work on if it's more than a week or two. Some of the quartz samples are available online if you want this. We got our countertops through Pental quartz, and it can help you shop. The online samples are not the same as those in the showroom, but it can help you rule things out. We have Azul Aran, but had chosen something else until I got the samples home. Then I realized they clashed with the floor, so back to the showroom. Had I known this was online, I would saved a lo5 of trips.

I was listening to the police scanner last night. That is my usual evening activity rather than TV. In-n-Out was calling for traffic assist. There were so many people there for drive-thru that the traffic was getting messed up on the main streets. It's a hamburger people, stay home.

We've got a sample board from Menard's, but I'll check that out-- thanks. I suspect it will be too pricey for us, but it's worth a look. Like I said, our big issue is measuring and installation. It's all DIY at Menards, though I think you can order online. We don't want to chance wasting $1000's because we don't know how to measure it right. We also don't want to spend a ton more than the Menard's prices, so we may have to find a cheaper alternative. Or wait for discounts as the market implodes. It sounds horrible, but it's a real possibility.
