I don’t agree DJ. They were not forthcoming with information initially, and punished medical people for speaking out. Yes, they eventually mustered an effective response, but like us, they wasted valuable time. In there defense, they really were dealing with an unknown with no warning. We don’t have that excuse

my guess: it will end up killing far more Americans than Chinese, even though their population is 5x greater.

I thought we were talking about the initial response, where there was denial, lies and punishments for anyone who told a story that didn't align with the official government story.

Once China realized they weren't going to be able to sweep this under the rug, they brought out the big guns. But at first, they were as feckless as Trump.
