And also Mike Pence. Do you think that Pence will be POTUS from 2024-2032?

Trump has been performing well lately Yes, his performances have improved lately. Perhaps he should get back into doing reality shows after he leaves the White House. I don't think that Pence will be President (ever).

I'm pretty sure after this Pence is going to crawl under a rock and remain there for the rest of his days. First the HIV epidemic in his state and now this. His political career is over.

Satire from The Borowitz Report Fox to Address Coronavirus Crisis with Three-Part Series on Hunter BidenBy Andy Borowitz NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—Determined to address the “No. 1 concern of the American people during the coronavirus crisis,” Fox News Channel announced on Thursday that it would air a three-part prime-time series on Hunter Biden. The series, to be co-hosted by Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Rudy Giuliani, will attempt to soothe the anxieties of Fox viewers who have suddenly been plunged into uncertainty about the activities of Joe Biden’s son. “People are trapped inside their homes, they’re worried, they’re scared, and they don’t know where to turn for accurate information about Hunter Biden,” Hannity said. “We’re here to fill that need.” Giuliani said that the three-part series was necessary because “the deep state” had limited Americans’ access to essential Hunter Biden facts during the pandemic crisis. “If you go on the C.D.C. Web site, you won’t find a single mention of Hunter Biden, Burisma, or CrowdStrike,” Giuliani said. “It’s a disgrace.” In the first episode of the series, the Fox hosts will attempt to answer what Carlson called “the most important question on our viewers’ minds: Did Hunter Biden cause the coronavirus?” Complete article here: Fox to Address Coronavirus Crisis with Three-Part Series on Hunter Biden

Doing well if you are comparing him to his past anemic performance.
Shitty however compared to Obama, W, Clinton, HW, Carter.
I’m just including the ones in my lifetime. I knock Reagan for his pathetic response to the AIDS crisis.

Trump has been performing well lately
Performing well? How so? I see him still slamming the New York Times and the Washington Post, whining that they're fake news and against him, while they report facts. I see him still lying. I see him still bragging about how well he's doing, while the Covid-19 infections just keep going up and up and up. I see him absolving himself of responsibility while telling the states to source their own masks and ventilators. Healthcare workers are forced to use the same masks for days at a time. I see him bragging that he knew this was coming before the WHO deemed this a pandemic, and then turning around and saying the US was blind-sided by this virus, I see him touting the benefits of unproven anti-parasite medications, while Covid-19 is a virus. I still see him standing shoulder to shoulder with people while the experts say they should stand at least three feet apart.
By what metric is he doing well?

I can't imagine Pence would be elected. He doesn't have the fire that Trump has. The evangelicals would be supportive, but I can't see him appealing to the angry masses. He is too white bread, soaked in milk.
Plus, we haven't had a history of transferring the title of President to Vice President. Bush got elected after being Reagan's deuce, but didn't get a second term. Ford inherited it, but didn't get elected. Johnson and Truman were re-elected, that is the closest model we have to success. But neither got elected as President initially. We can debate Al Gore, but it doesn't matter. He was never president.
I think VP is a sort of dead end job. And if things go wrong with Covid, Trump will throw Pence under the bus. I just don't see him as being charming enough to be a serious contender for POTUS. He is so robotic and cold.

Trump’s latest coronavirus press briefing was a disastrous failure in leadership We need clear guidance during a national crisis. Trump is failing. In times of national crisis, the country is supposed to rely on the president to provide clear messages to guide them through new problems. But as America continues to deal with the coronavirus outbreak, President Donald Trump is failing. That was very clear at Thursday’s daily coronavirus press briefing, as Trump went on long, boastful rants, talked about unrelated topics, and joked about kicking journalists out of daily press briefings. At times, it was unclear what Trump was talking about at all. While discussing some of the federal government’s work to establish new treatments for Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, he started to boast about passing “right to try,” an unrelated law that attempts to let terminally sick people use experimental treatments. www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2020/3/19/21186855/coronavirus-trump-press-briefing-national-crisis-messagingSo, deadeyedick...please explain to the class how Trump is "performing well".

yes, exactly what we need, another old white guy. Do you think that the colour of one’s skin matters? whether or not I think it does, in real world application, it does. My FIL referred to anyone who liked Obama as a n****r lover, so apparently it mattered to him. I doubt he's the only one. and since 44/45 presidents were older white dude, maybe it's time for someone different?

Sure, Trump's performing well... but it's kind of meaningless in the big picture.
Unless you are the kind of person who 'forgives/forgets' when your sweetie brings you flowers and says they are sorry and they will NEVER do it again after cheating on you (for the 4th or 5th time). And you KNOW they really love you (because of the flowers and the promise) and you're sure they won't cheat on you again.
Sorry, that was the best example I could come up with for being manipulated by someone who you really want to be better than they actually are.

I watched most of his press conference today. And, I have to disagree on him "performing well". He actually was telling the reporters that they were "doing a lot of stuff that we don't even know about". Really? This is America. So, when did the Oval Office decide it was o.k. to keep from the American people what is being done to fight this virus? It's not like telling us what is being done is going to tip off the enemy. This is one big mess, and if they lose control of the virus, Pence isn't going to have to worry about whether to run for president. He'll be toast.

I still see him standing shoulder to shoulder with people while the experts say they should stand at least three feet apart. By what metric is he doing well? He lied to the American people for over 6 weeks about the severity of this. Basically called it a "nothing burger", hoax by the Democrats and fake media, and that it would go away. I saw a repeat of the show The Talk today. Filmed 1/29/20. When America first flew back 200 people from China. Everyone in the audience agreed the US should take measures to contain it. For weeks Trump blew it off as opposed to trying to become educated, listen the MEDICAL professionals, tell everyone what a great job he was doing. Well the stock market has been in free fall. He's doing such a "great job". Tell that to all of the workers who have been laid off as restaurants, bars, shopping centers, movie theaters, zoos, museums, non essentials businesses have closed their doors. Friends of mine came over yesterday so I could help them on my computer file for unemployment. The are married and both work in the service industry, and live day to day via tips. Now they have NO income. They are devastated! And there is no end in sight. If Cheeto would have listened sooner and tried to nip this in the bud sooner, maybe it would not be this bad.

President Donald Trump shrugged off responsibility for providing more medical equipment and gear to strapped hospitals combating coronavirus, saying Thursday there are "millions" of masks available to workers but that it was up to individual states to ensure they are well stocked amid the pandemic. His comments contrasted sharply to pleas from health care workers who are running out of surgical masks and fear there won't be enough ventilators to treat patients who contract the disease. And it came as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began advising nurses they could begin using bandanas or scarves as makeshift masks when treating patients with coronavirus -- guidance Trump said he was unfamiliar with and that came as a surprise to the White House when it was reported early Thursday. Increasingly defensive in the face of questions about his administration's response, Trump said his administration was scaling up its purchase of masks but that states would need to sort out who gets them. He said "nobody in their wildest dreams" would have anticipated the need for more ventilators, which hospitals worry may run short as more patients require them. www.cnn.com/2020/03/19/politics/trump-masks-ventilators/index.htmlRiiight...Trump is 'performing well."

5 mixed messages that have marred the Trump administration’s coronavirus responseThe federal government's response to the novel coronavirus outbreakrepresents a critical test for President Donald Trump and his administration, but some analysts say it's one that has already been marred by a series of mixed messages from the president himself. During a White House briefing with the coronavirus task force on Tuesday, Trump insisted that he "always viewed [the outbreak] as very serious." "I've felt it was a pandemic before it was called a pandemic," he said. "All you had to do was look at other countries." Critics, meanwhile, point to several occasions in which Trump either downplayed the threat of the virus or overstated the government's capacity to mitigate the crisis, leaving some Americans confused at a critical time.
