... Avoiding people from China in the beginning was not xenophobic anymore than making people travelling to any of the impacted countries self-quarantine for 14 days. However, physically or verbally attacking the Chinese is disgusting and beyond wrong. If we were able to accurately identify people as having come from China, then you would have a point. But instead of avoiding people who came from China, people are avoiding people who have a facial appearance that makes people think they came from there. We are in the middle of a pandemic. I'm avoiding anyone that I think puts me at risk. That includes millennials and Gen Z (they aren't taking this seriously). Prior to the shutdown of bars/restaurants/gyms in my state, I told my daughter that if she continued to go out and ignore the "social distancing" that she could pack her stuff up and move in with her father until this blows over. I don't actually care if I'm being reasonable or not. |

There are numerous reports of people avoiding Chinese take out because of the supposed connection to the C-19 virus. This is both misconceived and economically harmful. Don't get me wrong. I hope the President succeeds in his new found urgency to combat this pandemic, now that he recognizes the economic fall out. However I will certainly NOT let him off the hook for his hateful rhetoric, which has not abated. he's still putting the economy over people. which is what he will continue doing.
there may be a lot that we can't predict about Trump, but we can predict this.

Basing it solely on facial features is what I was addressing. |

2/454 is pretty far above 20/1000000 what is that in reference to? I may be wrong...but...2/454 is the House members...20/1000000 is the general population? So a higher percentage in our House of Representatives compared to the general population? |
