MADISON - A Republican state senator is asking Gov. Tony Evers to ease a ban on gatherings of 10 people or more aimed at containing the coronavirus, saying the restrictions prevent residents from going to church and exercising their religious rights.
Sen. David Craig, of Big Bend, penned the letter to Evers Tuesday, the same day the governor directed Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm to close malls, bars and restaurants and limit gatherings to no more than 10 people. The order effectively shutters churches, theaters, fitness centers and numerous other places
Funny, I wasn't aware that the government had stopped people from praying, or watching services on FB, youtube, or other streaming platforms.

Oh hell, open up those churches, let them infect each other just stay away from me. Go for it, thin the masses.

I didn't see if the governor closed praying at home. Let the minister and the senator set up a Facetime religious service for all.

We now have our own FDR. Government response updates: Trump calls himself 'wartime president'President Donald Trump on Wednesday started his latest briefing to the nation on how the government is responding to the coronavirus crisis by saying, "I would like to begin by announcing some important developments in our war against the Chinese virus," again casting the effort in military terms and referring to the disease with a term that has sparked backlash. Trump called himself "in a sense, a wartime president." Government response updates: Trump calls himself 'wartime president'FDR wasn't an asshole. Well for someone who thought fending off STDs was the equivalent of serving in Vietnam I can see how he thinks he’s fighting a war against an Asian assassin. . Donald Trump...Pandemic Ninja. Streaming soon on Netflix.

Paula White, Trump's spiritual adviser, wants people to send her $91. That's right.....people who are out of work during this crisis should send her money to plant the seed against pestilence. Bitch. Paula White, the evangelical pastor and spiritual adviser to President Donald Trump, says her ministry is like a hospital and is asking people to send her money for it. Except it’s not a real hospital. “We are a hospital to the sick,” White said over piano music during an online coronavirus prayer session, quickly adding that it’s for “not necessarily the physically sick.” www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/paula-white-coronavirus-hospital_n_5e71a3b2c5b63c3b6486dc1a?ri18n=true

Ahhhh....it’s now “the Chinese Virus”. Well, yes. The "Chinese Virus" is the pandemic. That corona thing was just BS. I assume that's how his logic goes so he can still be correct. Of course it is the Chinese virus, never doubt it. And fortunately we have some people who are looking out for us. We are going to make those commies pay for their coverup news.yahoo.com/hawley-calls-full-international-investigation-152222575.htmlsorry I still can't do the quote thingy...

as Trump LOVES to point out, it wasn't like this virus started in Seattle. it started in China. there is no travel restriction from central Africa, as far as I know. so, if someone comes from Nigeria who is asymptomatic, how would we stop him from flying to Kansas?
we all know the answer. the reason I ask the question is that this virus doesn't care about travel restrictions. it is coming. the only question is how we deal with it.

The Catholic Archbishop of Newark (NJ) has suspended Masses until further notice. The residents will just take PATH into the city and attend services at St. Patrick's cathedral. Nice cathedral in Newark by the way (Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart). Impressive inside. I lived down the street from it.

It's just that I have not heard either way.

In Maine all public gatherings of over 10 people are verboten as of yesterday. Including churches.

the US is now 4th in active cases. it is just barely behind Germany and Spain.
I would be very surprised if we were not ONLY trailing Italy in a couple of days.
