I will start.
most of my assets are out of the market. so that is not a big one for me. five of my six businesses are virtual, so ditto there.
my one problem is business #6. we just got a shelter in place order for 6 bay area counties. our county is probably not far behind. that means that employees will not be able to get to work, as we are "non-essential". that is going to start creating hardship in maybe 5-6 weeks. so, I don't know how that will go for us.
I am in good health, but the wife has respiratory problems and is at risk in terms of age. so I have that worry. then, finally, there is my son, who is in LA, and trying to get home. don't know how that is going to work.
how is everyone else doing?
ETA: anyone who has a change in status, PLEASE post it here, OK? we want to know. this is a COMMUNITY.

DH has COPD, so I'm mostly worried about him. Our basic income is from SSDI and his pension. If we tighten the belts a little bit, we can get by without needing to take our annual IRA distribution. We're still planning on doing a kitchen remodel for now, but that is subject to change. It's less about the money and more about having strangers coming in and out of our house. Parents are both immune system suppressed, so I worry about them as well. Both have several doctor appointments over the next couple of weeks, so Sis is going to have them wear masks. She couldn't find any to buy, but the hospital gave her some (maybe 15?) to bring home to use. Mom just got out of the hospital last week. She had pneumonia and a collapsed lung.
The closest case to us is about an hour away. There are none in our county yet. I expect the county will shut down when a case shows up.

Doing fine here. DH & I are both in high risk groups so we are staying home. DH's brother who lives in town is bringing us any needed items so far.
DH has a VA appt. later this week...we will go to it & use masks to stay safe & I'll do a bit of shopping while we are in a larger town.

Our county has 3 confirmed cases and 76 waiting for results. I dialed back our stock/bond ratio quite a while back, so the retirement accounts are down, but about 10% down. Part is in a CD, so we can take RMDs from that without having to sell stocks.
But the fun stuff is not going to happen; at least for a while.
We are self quarantining, as much as we can. I'm calling friends and family to stay in touch.
Today, Jay Inslee said at this point, we should all assume we've been exposed. I suppose the 2 week self quarantine is to find out who gets sick and get them isolated before they infect more people.
It does require wrapping my head around a new way of living.
Got really angry at a cousin today on FB for saying that "people in government would use this to make trump look bad". I told her that his own words and actions make him look bad.

As I have said elsewhere, I am in one of those 6 counties DJ mentions in his opening post. I started working from home today and it has been a very busy day. I am waiting for input from our legal department and then I will be busy for a number of additional hours. I have taken stock of my food situation and should be ok for at least a month, maybe longer (thanks to living in EQ country). The only thing I will run out of is bread. But while I am not a bread baker, I make very good muffins and am sure I can eat those instead. Unless I am already sick, I am quite sure I will be just fine

I looked at my retirement account a few days ago, after promising I wouldn’t. I shouldn’t have looked. I won’t do that again anytime soon. DBF was smarter than me, he didn’t look.
I have about 10 more years before I’m eligible for retirement and he has longer than that. Most of my money is in stocks, all of his is, plus some more money outside of his retirement account.
Neither of our jobs will be shutting down and neither of us can work from home. He’s not a peon like I am, but he still can’t work from home. As longer as neither of us get sick for an extended period of time, we aren’t really worried about losing income. We can survive on 1 income, even the lesser one, which is mine, if we had to. I am so grateful for that, because I know many individuals and families are worried about their income being at stake, on top of everything else.
Personally, I’d much prefer it if I could just hunker down at home for a while, and would be just fine with it. He, on the other hand, would probably start to go nuts after just a couple of days of not leaving the house at all.
I’m concerned for several reasons, for one, I already have enough issues with my sinuses that cause me to feel not so good more than I like (not that anyone ever wants to feel bad!), and I do NOT need anything new to deal with. Also, my Mom is 69yo with several health issues, one being COPD, and although we don’t live together, I do have to help her with some stuff and it scares me that I could be contagious with the coronavirus without knowing it and potentially cause her to get it. Actually, the thought is kind of terrifying because she’s at such high risk.
DBF has school aged kids that are out of school for at least the next couple of weeks. Idk yet how much time they’ll be spending at our house, but I’m sure they’ll be here at some point.
That’s where I am right now. We have household supplies and food (will have more food when I pick up my online grocery order tomorrow), DBF and I still have to report to work every day. So far neither of us and none of our family and friends are sick.
If anything changes, I will report back to this thread.
I am hoping and praying that all of us in this little community get through this with nothing more than maybe some inconvenience. Take care everyone, and stay safe!

We may have lost 1/4 a million or more on paper. (Not looking) But only if we were to sell now. We are retired and staying home (age 65), but stocked up a week ago. So life is pretty pleasant. This morning I figured out a home exercise routine to replace the gym. Mostly worried about DD who just closed on a new house that was a big financial stretch. I'm a little worried about her job as a Physical Therapist. She only saw 3 patients today. And not sure what will happen with trying to sell her current house. DS is in Seattle but assures us he is fine, his job is fine and he's not interacting much at all. Somewhat worried about MIL who is a retirement facility in a county with 3 cases. But not much we can do about that.
If all we lose in this is money, I will be grateful. ETA: WE have 8 cases of wine and a ton of booze, so that helps.

Work gave direction today that everyone that can do their job from home is to do so, it will be interesting managing a large team with long term work from home. On that note Supply Chains are a complete crap shoot right now, like nothing I have ever witnessed in my 19 year career. We are pulling things out of our asses to keep business continuity.
I pulled out of the market for the first time in my life in September because I thought the market was ridiculously overheated so now have to decide when to get back in.
I have a plenty of supplies and food so could stay hunkered down quite a while. I quit drinking going on almost two months and have an elliptical and Bowflex in my basement so never felt better.
I am concerned about several elderly family members catching this, they are hundreds of miles away so not much I can do to help but keep in contact to help them fight the boredom.
Glad to see those on here that are most at risk are taking this so serious, I wish you all the best.

Down a quarter-million on paper. Not worried about it because I don't really need to take much out, although I did use up most of my cash buying myself a large income tax bill through a Roth conversion. I am annoyed because I had mentioned a couple times about going to cash a couple of months ago. Wish I had now.
Travel plans just changed. I am flying out about two weeks earlier to beat any potential travel restrictions for the Seattle area. Will also likely cancel vacation plans in California for May. Everything being closed down here does not really affect me much, but I still prefer to get away to warmer weather, plus the GF is still there. Just hope I'll be able to fly back in six weeks!

ISO is apparently an idiot. He has bronchitis, COPD got inhalers and can't breath but not worried, conspiracy theory, the government caused this. I of course want to know which government since we don't have a world government. I ask was it the Chinese or maybe Italian or Iranian, or French? He isn't sure but mad they are shutting things down and laughing at people shopping wearing mask, because they bought into the hoax. He went to the bar, I told him they won't be open the governor shut down restaurants, bars and gatherings. So he goes and they did last call a 6PM when the ban isn't until midnight.
He is prepared to die, cashed in his coins today so I won't need to do it after he dies, carried in cat food and litter and tells me if he dies I need to carry it in, then later assured himself I will keep his cats.
We are old and have issues and I am scared but don't want to complain because the idiots will think I am being silly. I am pretty careful but going clam digging in the 5th wheel, then more food shopping and home to hid in my house.

I heard the liquor stores might get shut down, so I bought 2 bottles of bourbon- one drinker and one sipper. I need to go to a special place to get this Digestif I like (Italian). I am not sure when I can do that. I will check their hours before I go to bed.
spent the afternoon writing a CV19 policy for Company #6. it turned out to be a fairly pleasant exercise, due to a very helpful overview at the CDC.
meeting with staff tomorrow at 10AM. we might be in lockdown by Wednesday morning.
the economic damage is going to be pretty horrendous for some places. but not so much ours. we have a 19 week backlog at work. I just worry about our customers. some might pull out due to the (possible) delay.
company #5 is also in serious distress. we were in the middle of a move from Manhattan to Brooklyn. CV19 is really slowing that down. obviously.
I am sorry to hear about the big stock losses for a couple of you. but it makes me feel better about how sheltered my assets are.

I'm more or less okay. I can do my job from anywhere with an internet connection, really. other than a brief stop in the office one day last week, I've been WFH since 3/6. my boss just ok'd me expensing a printer/scanner so I don't need the occasional "run" to the office for that purpose - that "run" is a 2h round trip, or I can pay $.50 a page to print at Staples across town. as far as stock up, I'm a little unsettled b/c I'm usually well stocked from sales. since I'm in the process of selling my house, I've been working through the stashes and things aren't quite where my comfort level would want it, if I had to self-isolate for a month. I'm sure I'd be fine, and realize this is irrational. the house sale, though - I'm hearing horror stories of people walking away from contracts and deals, and I'm signing my P&S later this morning when I get to a printer. I am counting myself very lucky in that avenue. tomorrow, I'm supposed to be going to check out a short term rental, where I intend to catch my breath and reevaluate the RE market. unless that homeowner gets called for mandatory OT in the hospital where he works, that is still a go. as of yet, I haven't figured out where I'm going after I close on 4/29. that's another mild anxiety for now, but I'll be okay there too. even if it means overpaying for one of those "luxury apartment" complexes for a short term, I will not be homeless. it just won't be frugal. virtual hugs to all that need 'em.

It’s been interesting, we have been working from home since yesterday. At our send off on Friday, my boss was sure to remind us that they still expect a full 8 hours of work out of us, anything less and we should use our PTO.
Fast forward to today, two days in and he mentions that he hopes were all keeping busy, but he’s not feeling it, so just do the best we can and enjoy spending time with our families. I figure by the end of the week he’ll be telling us to just “do whatever we feel like”, and he’s the VP..
Other than that things are fine, not worried about the markets because everyone is down.

I came back from vacation on Feb 16th and have been sick since Feb 18th. I went to the urgent care twice because of my horrible cough, but they did not even test me for the flu since I had no body pain, chills or fever. I am on my second dose of predinasone & strong inhalers, as there seems to be a lingering infection in my lung - according to the pulmonologist I saw last week. I still start to cough if i talk too much, so I have been trying to speak less - which is a nice excuse to avoid conference calls.
I can work from home and have been doing that completely from last Thursday. I have more work than I can actually do, so no issues.
My DH works with shipping companies, so they are evaluating what can be done as all their customers are cancelling the cruises. But this is a good time for the cruise ships to go to drydock and do a lot of repairs, fixes, cleaning etc. so he is hoping that they will be able to support that and hopefully he will still have his job when this is over.
We have lost a lot of money in our 401Ks, but it is what it is. We are stocked up for around 3 weeks, but we live in EQ country, so normal to have a bunch of stuff.
My son is away at college and he said he is not coming home as his state does not have many cases so far, unlike here at home.
Hope everyone here gets through this time healthy and safe.

My office is just me and my assistant. We are still open for business but it is REALLY quiet.
Courts are shut down until 5/1 at the earliest. I have some big payments coming from some estate cases that are being adjourned, and I am probably going to run into some cash flow problems. I have savings to back it up, so I'll be fine in the long run.
ETA: Her son works PT doing minor typing and filing. He just got back from a cruise. He's not allowed in the office for 2 weeks.

DH and I are absolutely NOT looking at our 401K's. We have 10 years to recover and it is what it is. Bakery is closed down for the next three weeks at least. I'm filing for unemployment for the first time in my life. I lost almost two months of work when I fractured my leg in November so I don't have as much in the EF as I'd like. We'll still be fine if I don't get it, but a bigger financial cushion is always welcome. I'm a food hoarder by nature and we're really overstocked at this point. Plus plenty of alcohol. Both my girls and their boyfriends are eating dinner here on a regular basis, which is new...we still won't run out of food for at least a month if not longer. Plus I have keys and alarm code to the bakery (and permission) and there's plenty of nonperishable food to be had there if it comes down to it. The younger generation is about to learn a new skill. Washing your hands with a bar of soap. The only thing we are low on is liquid hand soap. Stay safe and healthy all.

Grandma has been in the hospital, going on 4 days. Not CV-19, anxiety and poor diet. She has high blood pressure and they haven't been able to get it down for some tests. I'm a bit more stressed about her increased risk of exposure. She's been in and out of hospitals regularly for 30 years and always managed but this is new.
I've postponed the kids joint birthday party. DS is turning 4 on Friday and DD will be 2 on Monday. A bit sad for them as I was planning a big party this year, but they will be none the wiser. We'll bake cupcakes together and they each get a book, a shared Octopod toy, and DH and I might bust out our Lego and My Little Pony collections. DH also suggested getting a telescope and doing a campout in the back yard.
Finance wise I'm stressed, but we should be able to weather the storm. I'm going to defer 50% of my pay indefinitely (travel industry), and hopefully find some new skills to increase my earning power while work is slow.
Our accounts have taken a hit. I'm torn on whether or not to keep investing. I think I'll just hold off on my IRA and market account and keep going with DH's 401k and the kids' 529s. If things turn around personally and the market is still down next year I can hopefully still max the IRA.
Food wise we are pretty well stocked, but now that we aren't eating out the freezer is emptying quicker than I'd anticipated. Will either have to switch to canned veggies or brave the stores again. We typically consume 2-3 gallons of milk but its been sold out the last two times we tried to get more. We have a gallon and a half, and a bag of powdered if we get desperate, but so far we are rationing pretty well, and I'm actually happy that DS is consuming less.
DH is working from home now so that helps minimize stress.

I'm doing fine. What finances I have in the markets will do what they do. I'm not involving myself with that and don't have financial worries. I'm mostly staying in and isolated. I'm available to help out at the free clinic should it become necessary but we've only got one confirmed case of COVID19 in our county to date. Still have my fitted N95 mask from the hospital, lots of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. The cat and I are good for food for at least a month so we're just hangin' out.
Best wishes to all. Take care of yourselves, follow the suggested protocols, and try not to let anxiety drag you down. These are tough times but ... well, we've had those before, haven't we? As long as we remain alert, aware, and willing to do what's necessary we'll get through.

Stay safe and healthy all. Same here also, but I have tons of bar soap. My DH wants to go looking for liquid soap, but I asked him what we did before we had liquid soap and then he kept quiet.

So far doing ok. Expect Donnadub’s 403B and investment accounts to recover a large part of the paper loss. I won’t look but based on percentages about $500k, just as she was thinking of retiring in Sept. at 66. She may keep going as she loves being an oncology RN working 24 hrs. a week. Her call.
The Dubettes have had a good week. Dubettes #1’s boss has been promoted and is trying very hard to get her the position. She has been a registered dietician for 11 months. Doesn’t want the job though as it is management/admin and she prefers the clinical side. Plus the 17 year old cat and 4 nights a week on the road staying in motels.
Dubettes #2 has just been accepted at the U of Wash MSW program which is highly rated. Has just turned down Seattle U’s offer and still waiting on Portland St. The facility she works at is remaining open...inpatient home for damaged kids. They both live in Portland.
I’m nearing the permitting process for in filling a now vacant office/storeroom and long unused community room into 2 studio Apts. The ROI on the expenditure will be 300% based on the increase in the building NOI on the increased rental income. My solar project for fall is still a go. And we’ll paint that property too. All 24 units full. Do have a vacancy coming up in April at the 8 unit and maybe at one of the duplexes in a local military town. Lengthy deployments allow for lease breaking. Will know soon. That would require a lease up and all that entails which puts my social distancing in jeopardy. Own that one with a friend, and we manage ourselves, so may delay that process while we monitor the ‘issue’. I have been laying very low and have already canceled a golf trip to Tucson plus our local tee times.
So we are doing well so far and I don’t mind hanging out and working on the garden. Have a few ‘industrial’ projects there that are underway and it’s sunny this week.

Surviving my first ever work from home day. I put on a clear CLEAN pair of pajamas after showering to "go to work" in. So far it's weird but ok. I'm kind of sad that things have changed in big and small ways - and that some of the changes may not be undone once this is something to reminisce about.
We're watching history unfold folks!
I, too, have some very anxious, stressed out relatives/friends who are finding this all more than they think they can handle. I'm becoming a broken record when I talk to them: It will be ok. Do the best you can do. It will be ok.

I'm still going in to work, even though I can work from home. The CEO hasn't given us the go ahead yet. I'm stocked up on food for a few weeks (and booze), and will head back out this week for a few more things, but then I'm staying home. I'm under 40 and not at risk, but I hate being sick, so why take the chance. My mom is self quarantined and losing her mind, so I'm trying to help her through it the best I can. She's very social and hates being cooped up, but she's 75 so she needs to stay home.
I have not looked at my 401k or roth IRA since this all started. I don't want to know right now. I still have 25+ years until retirement so I have plenty of time, and I don't want to stress myself out anymore than I need to. For the most part I am just trying to be cautious but keep my spirits up. It's fairly easy right now, but I'm 90 mins from the Bay Area and we have 33 cases in our county as of today. It could get a whole lot worse!
Be safe everyone!

So far we are OK. I'm taking time off work and hope I'll still have a job when this is over. We have enough in the freezer to last about a month of both protein and veggies, and stuff in the pantry. We'll go to grocery for fresh stuff as needed, and replenished our paper products before this started so OK there.
We deliver 'meals on wheels' program and will have a different protocol for our people, but don't know what that is yet.
Staying as clean as possible and taking it one day at a time.
We share what we have with anyone in need.

Same here also, but I have tons of bar soap. My DH wants to go looking for liquid soap, but I asked him what we did before we had liquid soap and then he kept quiet. As for liquid soap, I will fill the empty liquid soap container with liquid dish washing soap and a little water to thin it out.

Went to the store today for a couple of items: no need for any of the products being horded. But I did see and buy two bunches of fresh asparagus for $.99 a pound. Spring is here.

DH works from home and DD's school closed for 2 weeks. We would be doing pretty good, except DD caught a nasty cold last week and now we are both sick. It has really knocked me down, but no fever so just a cold.
After we are back to well, I have some projects to do. We have food to last a few weeks, though we are all out of good stacks already and bread.
The stock market is painful. I haven't looked but I can guess how much we are down. In brighter news, the EF is somewhat funded, DD's college fund is in CDs, and our expenses are lowish.

I’m really freaking out right now... I freaked out a couple days ago before I realized that we are finally starting to take this seriously.
a sense of serenity came over me after that. I would be happy to share it if I could.
