People keep talking about corned beef, I’m not surprised it’s not sold out. DBF saw some marked down $7 or so not too long ago at our neighborhood grocery store, regular prices were ~$23. He bought several, then went back and bought some more for his Dad. The 1st time he cooked it, I was like a little kid, pushing my food around on my plate. YUK! I normally eat whatever he cooks without complaint, even if it’s just “ok”, but I can’t do the corned beef.

I didn't love it the first time I had it, and now I look forward to St Patty's day every year. I still don't like the boiled cabbage.

Stopped at Walmart to get some canvases so Gwen can work on her art while she's home.
Took a gander in the grocery section. It looked like a war had been fought in the frozen pizza section.
Time to buy stock in whichever company makes Red Baron.

I have to bust my butt this week if I'm off next week.
I'm still panicking. I don't want people to get sick but at the same time can't forsee how we'll be better off shut down for 18 months.
We may stem corona but can you imagine the social upheaval? You think people are pissed off about the 1% now.
It was mass famine that tipped the scales to the French Revolution. 1 million+ jobs lost and small businesses going bankrupt while the 1% rise this out in comfort may just well tip our scales.
I've had 36 years on Earth already. I'm worried about my kids.

I'm old and have been The National Bank of Mom for years. My savings are almost depleted. I will still have my SS and pension, but that's not enough to help DD or DS much.
Never in a million years expected to be poverty stricken in my eld. I'm scared.
It won't help right now and won't stop CV19, but it will help to vote blue no matter who.
Meanwhile, Moscow Mitch sits on his duff arguing about how much (or how little in his case) help can be spared from the rich to help the huddled masses yearning to be free of him and his ilk.

I did go over to my neighbor’s today. He answered the door (which made me glad I thought to step back from the door) and I told him I was just checking on them and trying to see if they need anything. He said his oncologist has instructed him to stay home because he is high risk (which I figured), so he and his wife are just being hermits. He said they’re good on groceries and household items. So I told him if they need anything, to let me know, and I’ll be happy to do whatever I can to help. And I meant it. He seemed to really appreciate that. I hope they’ll remember my offer if they do need some help at some point. You are a good person. I’m sure they feel better just knowing they can call you. I would

My neighbors daughter placed a pick up order from Walmart for this afternoon. All I needed was a loaf of bread and 1qt of milk. Neighbor didn't need much more.
Once I get this new shelving organized, I hope not to be in this situation ever again. My pantry was always enough of a mess that I seldom knew what I had and what was needed. Times that are 'changing.

Sorry, Tennesseer corned beef with anything, anything at all, does not make a good sandwich. Ew. Blonde Granny how do y'all manage to get WM grocery pick up so fast? DD was going to order online for pickup last Thursday but nixed it because the soonest pickup would have been yesterday. No kidding.

I need milk. I didn't get any when I grocery shopped over the weekend because I'd just started a new one and I'd dumped over 1/2 of the previous half gallon. My coworkers are out and about and agreed that IF they stop at a store for lunch, she'll pick me up a 1/2 gallon of 2% milk for me.
I loathe corned beef too. My daughter loves it though. DH is supposed to cook it tonight since he's working from home. I'll do something else for me and boxed mac a cheese for son as I promised him that I'd make it for today.

There were cans of salmon on the shelf. I would at least stock up on that before tuna. I like tuna, but when there is an entire grocery store of other options I can't say it would be near the top of the list. Both my parents went through the Holodomor. You went through your pantry, then ate your pets, then bought meat which could have been human flesh. You didn't ask. You'd be very grateful for canned tuna. I'd never heard of the Holodomor before. Now I've learned something Welts.
I mean, I did know that something like 30 million people died during Stalin's reign but not details.

Next time that dude who lives in the White House visits Mar-A-Lago, I'd love to take him on a tour of all of the grocery stores in our area. Have him see the near-empty bread aisle, the paper goods section completely sold out, and some other types of items, like the soup aisle, mostly empty. And this morning, I went to the store at opening time, just to see if I could get any of those hard-to-find items. I managed to get one package of toilet paper (notice I only took ONE), but there were only about 8 packages left. The biggest surprise was seeing the frozen food section: a lot of the main entrees were sold out, and there were only a handful of pizzas left. Now remember, I was there first thing this morning. I wonder what's going to be left by the end of the day?

I ordered groceries online yesterday. I didn't want to pick up until tomorrow when I go to town. That was a good thing because the time I wanted to pick up was the first available time slot. I made some mistakes when I ordered for yesterday. Fixed those and got more things. Not a huge stock up. Almond milk, lactose free ice cream, etc. Necessities of life. Monday I got longer lasting food in case I am stuck here for 14 days.

Supply chain is not down its just that people are stocking up like they are going to be stuck at home for months. DF owns a bread route and he gets to the stores at 4am. He sees the product being put out. Some of our stores even shortened their operating hours to give their employees more time to get the product on the shelves. Then the doors open and people just start loading up their carts.

Dumbass.

Some places get trucks later in the day. I guess it depends on the store. I've seen posts on my city's Facebook page of various stores getting trucks at 11am, 1pm, and so on. I don't think Target has restored their overnight stock crew so their stuff is stocked whenever the associates have time.
I got some snacks and stuff at Walmart yesterday. There were some big holes in aisles and shelves. There was plenty of milk though and this was at 4pm. My closest grocery store had no eggs, no pasta, no chicken and no paper products. Those are just the aisles I went in.
I heard some liquor stores had lines yesterday. I think people panicked after they announced PA was closing their stores.

No surprise here. Poll: Most Americans don't trust Trump on coronavirus informationFew Americans trust President Donald Trump when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new survey, and less than half of respondents believe the federal government is taking sufficient steps to combat the public health crisis. An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll released Tuesday shows that only 37 percent of those polled have either “a good amount” or “a great deal” of trust in the information they hear from the president about the coronavirus, while 60 percent say they do “not very much” or “not at all” trust Trump’s words on the subject. The president’s trust ratings regarding the coronavirus rank lower among those surveyed than other prominent sources of information, including the news media, state and local governments, and public health experts. More Americans than not disapprove of the way he is handling the pandemic, by a margin of 49-44 percent, and his overall job approval rating rests at 43 percent. The poll’s results come after the White House spent weeks downplaying the coronavirus’ threat to the United States, even as public health officials within the administration sounded alarms over its risk to the country and warned of its rapid rates of transmission. Complete article here: Poll: Most Americans don't trust Trump on coronavirus informationTrump has served up an irresponsible and dangerous buffet of misinformation about the threat posed by the coronavirus. One the most alarming examples came at his news conference last week, where he addressed a nation hungry for facts about this deadly virus. There, Trump told one of his biggest lies about the virus -- and I say "lie" because we now know what he was told shortly before he made his remarks. Trump assured Americans at that February 26 news conference that the number of people infected in the United States is "going very substantially down, not up." Trump even bragged about the 15 cases at the time on US soil, claiming that "the 15, within a couple of days, is going to be down to close to zero." www.cnn.com/2020/03/08/opinions/coronavirus-trump-misinformation-twitter-obeidallah/?hpt=ob_blogfooteroldWhy should anyone trust the moron in charge?

How can anyone trust Trump and the Administration when we all watched them do nothing about Puerto Rico? It clearly shows their care for brown or impoverished people. They didn't seem to care they happen to be Americans.
I think the change we see in Trump right now is him having been told he needs people alive to vote for him.

Target has been replenishing their stock. No TP or sanitizer, but some of just about everything else. The produce department looked good.

I'm trying to figure out why Wal-mart was cleaned out of Dawn dish soap. Not all dish soap, there was plenty of Palmolive and other brands. Just the Dawn section was cleared out. Do these people know some secret I don't?

I wonder how many months of food we have back in warehouses? Like I said I got some items the other day that were dated 2023, that is out there, so concerning. This is not the growing season and everything else is just in time, so do we really have a lot of food? I wonder. My garden will be going out, no push back from hubs! Also read an article that said we are not letting Hispanic migrant workers in. Man, we are cutting off our noses to spite our faces. He could end up creating horrible shortages, what a mess.
I noted a lot of people at our local Walmart, did not stop, also a line at McD's. The grocery didn't look very busy, have no idea if they have food or not. I guess people have forgotten how to cook. I saw our local Chinese buffet was closed today. I didn't look at the other restaurants but our nearby town looked VERY dead. It won't take much to kill it off.
