I bought TP today. I feel like selling it at a profit. People were leaving with multiple packages. I just got one. I also got wipes for grandbaby W since his mom couldn't find any. They're sold out since there's no more TP at the stores.

For goodness sake, people, use a xylospongium. If it was good enough for ancient Romans and their latrines it's good enough for us today.

As an Iowan I just realized farmers here have an untapped market. There will be lots of corn cobs available come summer.

Same issue here. My brother in Baltimore witnessed a knife fight between two women over a pack of TP. Sheesh. A fight to the death over Doritos is one thing. But TP?

I have very little storage space, and I've had a package of toilet paper in the back seat for weeks. It's not like it will freeze. Now I'm afraid someone will steal my car.

End of the World Costco was out last week, but they have enough now. I think they are still limiting sales to 2 packs/customer (that's 24 rolls per pack). Other stores have it, but are placing limits. It's not the end of the world... Yes , I know that , however , many are acting like it is 😊

I’m kind of embarrassed to say that I’m one of the people that bought more toilet paper than usual a few days ago. But it was at DBF’s request, as I explained in a post on another thread somewhere on the board.
I do buy extra of whatever when I come across a good deal on it. I stay ahead of what we need because I don’t like running out of stuff since that seems to happen at inconvenient times, and I don’t like to shop period, but especially not unplanned runs to the store because I’m out of something I need RIGHT NOW. I also prefer not to pay full price for anything if I can avoid it.
So we have enough laundry detergent and cleaning supplies to last months probably, because I’ve been able to catch quite a few deals on those items over the past several months. It just so happens that I haven’t come across good deals on the toilet paper we prefer, so I didn’t have a good stash of that, even though I always stay ahead of the need so we don’t ever have a situation where there’s no toilet paper in the house, even if I have to pay full price to make sure there’s always some extra.
DBF didn’t want me to buy something like a year’s supply, he wanted 3 packages of the 12 mega rolls we always buy, and I got them, even though it pained me a little to pay full price for them. Those packages are in addition to the unopened 12 pack he bought last week because we were getting “low”, plus the 3-4 extra rolls that are always in each of our 3 bathrooms.
I don’t think we bought an insane amount, but it was still more than I’d normally buy unless it was a really good deal. And I kind of feel bad about contributing to the mess that has caused people that actually really need some TP now, to be unable to find any to buy.

IDK.....Kinda ironic that people who can’t find toilet paper are complaining about those that bought some?
Obviously buying tp > not buying....
I’ll be trying to get some tomorrow 😇

Just about home now after extended happy hour. Now I’ll bunker down and no more socializing...
Had 12 minute wait for bus so stopped into Walgreens. Picked up some mouthwash and wandered to the toilet paper aisle..,
Nothing!!!

I went into Xfinity store yesterday and noticed that they had little bottles of sanitizers on each of the tables. I almost asked the young guy if they were super glued/bolted down but I refrained

Our little town, along with several other towns in the area has had the TP shelves stripped bare. We were down to one roll in a family of four. While it was bothering me that we couldn’t find any, I did figure out several back up plans, all of which were feasible.
I decided to make a quest out of it, got up early assuming the stores restocked overnight, the shelves were still empty. However, I still needed some watch batteries, and on my way through the electronics section, found a whole pallet of TP. They just aren’t wasting the time to put it on the shelves, I bought a six pack and felt a strange sense of relief. I’m going to get a drink, it’s only 9 am, but it’s Saturday so why not?

Hubby thought I was joking when I told him there were toilet paper wars going on. We went to Sam's Club Monday and they had a few left, so I bought 2.
Went to Target yesterday and people were mad because there wasn't any. Some were saying they had none at home. I don't know if they were just being dramatic or not. Do people really let themselves run out? Not me. I keep things on hand, mostly because I stock up when there's a sale.
They had kleenexes, baby wipes and paper towels, still. I picked those up, too. The paper towels were on sale with a free $5 gift card so now I have enough paper towels to last about a year.

DH did our usual weekly shopping at the cheaper grocery store near his office last night. No bread. No water. No chicken. No ground beef. No skim milk. No yogurt.
I wonder how much is an actual shortage and how much is the store staff can’t stock the shelves fast enough to keep up with the demand?
Around here, stores are stocked during the day rather than overnight. That’s hard to do when you have Armageddon-like hordes clogging the aisles.

Target was restocking everything but TP and disinfecting wipes yesterday afternoon. They don't normally do that.

We have tons of paper towels. We use more than we should, and my DH likes to stock up when he sees a good sale. We've got 2 huge packs in the basement, bought weeks before all this stuff happened.
I'm a little worried about running low on food, to tell you the truth. If there is a lockdown, we might be eating tacos and poptarts every day for a while. (The kids were on a poptart kick for a long time, then abruptly stopped.)

I got sucked into the hype and found myself taking inventory from the hall closet today. We have about 50 rolls of TP, so I think we're good. Also 10 rolls of paper towels (and we hardly ever use them so this is about 6 months worth). I also found a 2 liter bottle of hand sanitizer, a couple soap refill bottles and 2 containers of disinfecting wipes that I didn't know I had, so I was pretty happy about those. What I should do is go grocery shopping though. We have tons of meat. I have a big chest freezer packed with beef, chicken and some fish, but we don't have much in the way of shelf stable stuff. I thought about getting some bread and buns to freeze too even though I can never seem to avoid freezer burn on bread when I do that.

She was poopooing me ( ) and my stock up concerns earlier this month/week but seeing immediate effects at work (bartender) she had an epiphany and decided to stocked us up with TP and pasta on a few after work runs. #ThankyouDD!

That's just one Sam's Club sized pack of toilet paper + about 5 rolls and one not quite full pack of paper towels. I always buy that stuff in bulk.

I buy a Costco sized pack for me and usually give half or less to my boyfriend since it lasts me forever. Yesterday I counted and have two rolls left and today found one more in the guest bath. Amazon has some but more than double the price. Walmart has some in some locations but in store only and do they still have 2 packs in stock when you get there?
So to conserve TP I am going on vacation, 6 days at ISOs house then 4 days camping in the 5th wheel at the beach so in 10 days will still have 3 rolls and stores have time to restock.
My favorite 24 hour grocery store is closing midnight to 5AM for cleaning and restocking so maybe I will venture out at 5AM to shop for TP and get a 4 pack.

If it's something really gross, like Sushi missing the litter box and pooping on the floor, then I use a paper towel. However, for cleaning everyday spills, those cloths do the job.

Toilet paper appears to be stocked out online everywhere.
Bathroom tissue however is not if you don’t mind ordering the larger rolls used in office buildings that won’t fit on your normal home Teepee holder.
Beggars can’t be choosers.

OMG We were at Winco (bargain grocery) 3 days ago and only TP was very low. Just stopped by for lunch meat and the store was decimated! No fresh produce, frozen food, cheese, meat etc. They are going to be closed from midnight until 5am to restock. Our cashier says there will be along line at 5am.
I assume this is because our state just cancelled events and closed the school.
We stocked up 2 weeks ago, but want fresh produce. DH is going to another grocery right now to check on things. Our original plan was to shop later tonight when there were less people in the store. I sincerely hope this works itself out and shelves will be stocked in a week or two. And hope we can still get out to the store then. This is the one of the weirdest things I have seen in this town. ETA: This is a town with only 3 cases so far.
