With all the political gatherings, H. asked the question of. What happens if the 2 presidential race hopefuls and President Trump succumb to covid19? A great big ruh roh.
We can get someone good?

I have to say after trump’s speech last night and Biden’s speech today, I have to say that Biden is looking very good to me (and I did not vote for him in the primary)

Stuck at Home? These 12 Famous Museums Offer Virtual Tours You Can Take on Your Couch (Video)Going into a self-quarantine can have many complex issues and complications beyond having enough food and supplies for two weeks. In terms of entertainment, it also probably means you’re in for a lot of boredom, a lot of Netflix, and a lot of browsing the internet. But there is a way to get a little culture and education while you’re confined to your home. According to Fast Company, Google Arts & Culture teamed up with over 500 museums and galleries around the world to bring anyone and everyone virtual tours and online exhibits of some of the most famous museums around the world.. Now, you get “go to the museum” and never have to leave your couch. Google Arts & Culture’s collection includes the British Museum in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Guggenheim in New York City, and literally hundreds of more places where you can gain knowledge about art, history, and science. This collection is especially good for students who are looking for ways to stay on top of their studies while schools are closed. Stuck at Home? Time to revisit them and take a tour through a few of the others - though I suspect that few virtual tours can match the beauty of the real thing especially if you are looking at a small laptop screen

We're as ready as we can be. I am still working at the office (so far) but the idea is becoming more of a reality that we may have to work from home. I already freelance from home, so I am fine with that. We have food, water, paper goods, pet food, medicines and a spare fridge/freezer. DH cannot go many places due to his age and health and the associated risk factors.

I have needed toilet paper for weeks! Not stockpiling. Just every day use. The stores have been out, of every kind. My daughter finally gave me a pkg. When I went to Walmart, night before last, they had 2 uniformed policemen at the end of the aisle... and there was no toilet paper! One officer told me that shit got real, real fast. Whatever that means.
I'm just trying to get by (and be aware.)

We walk to the grocery store most nights and buy what we need to make dinner. Their pasta aisle was pretty weak a couple nights ago. But, we weren't getting pasta, so far, so good. I guess with just flour and water and a pasta cutter I can make my own. But only if things get desperate.

I don't think we will get an honest diagnosis of trump, but he sure would not be missed.

I had been thinking if I couldn’t find bleach would my chlorinating granules for the spa have worked? That might be an avenue...

Cleans and gets you drunk!

With International passenger air routes way down the cost and time it takes to airship goods has increased, wonder how much that will ultimately impact an already stressed out supply chain.

They were totally stocked. It didn't even look like anyone had gone down that aisle, whereas all the other aisles had some shortages. I guess people are really taking this seriously!

I always like to stay stocked. I keep 2 cases of TP back at all times and think I have 2 of paper towels, have to look. But when I heard all the sh** coming down the road and trump saying it was a dem hoax and fox news I knew we were in trouble from the other countries. So I ordered a case of 60 rolls. And I also ordered Kleenex, so we are good for awhile, but TP is so skimpy on the rolls anymore you go through a lot. We are being more careful and using smaller quantities of TP, I would hate to run out.
I went through Burger Chef today to get a soda. The gal had gloves on, pushed a box out for the money, I told her keep the change. She put the soda on a tray so I did not touch her hands. I asked for napkins. I put hand sanitizer on my hands and wiped down the cup all over, so best I could do.
Today a renter came by with cash, I wrote a receipt, gave it to her. Used sanitizer, then took the money and put it in the laundry room and washed it good in hot water with soap. Then lay it out to dry. Figure money is dirtier then anything.

We made an additional trip to the grocer. Ordinarily we would just get what we needed to replenish. This time we did buy more. The thing is, we were at the store 2 days ago. No baby wipes. No eggs. They did have milk. Bread was nearly gone. Our resort is supposed to be closed to outsiders. Across the narrow street, 1 pickup and 1 car that made it hard to back into our carport. And kids. I really feel it's just a matter of time before all of us get it.

So, today our executives have been talking about the "stigma" of having Covid. They want to make sure there is no stigma on our people who are being tested for whatever reason. I did not know there was a stigma. I don't hold them personally responsible for catching Covid. I don't want to lick their face like I'm a dog. I don't want them in the office, but I don't think less of them as a person if they test positive.
Is there a stigma attached to getting the virus?

Although I will say that if certain people that have been calling this whole thing a (pick one) hoax, conspiracy, a media frenzy, blown out of proportion, just a flu, no big deal, etc. - if those people get it and recover, I will think that they probably got it from ignoring advice to hunker down and wash your hands.

I heard about the below (across our country) last month. Support your Chinese restaurants. I am. Stigma adds to coronavirus anxiety for Asian-Americans in MinnesotaSome Asian-Americans fear loss of business, change travel plans A Chinese language school is facing a loss of attendance. Asian-American markets are worried about keeping jasmine rice in stock. Some Chinese restaurants are anticipating a drop in business as the novel coronavirus that emerged in Wuhan, China, arrives in Minnesota. “Definitely we need to prepare for that,” said Gaoxiang Yang, owner of the Legendary Spice restaurant serving Sichuan cuisine on the University of Minnesota campus. Asian-Americans in Minnesota are feeling the repercussions of the fear surrounding the coronavirus, and grappling with how to respond. Most of the local effects so far have been limited to worries by those who have family back in China or how to get supplies for shops and restaurants. But Chinatowns in major coastal centers have seen reduced traffic and some people of East Asian descent have reported discrimination, including two Hmong men who say they were turned away at an Indiana hotel over suspicions that they were from China and could be carrying the virus. Yang is aware that business could be affected if the coronavirus spreads in Minnesota, based on what he hears from friends who own Chinese restaurants in New York and Los Angeles that are seeing large declines in customers. His establishment is doing fine for now, but he’s already stocked six months of dry goods in case there’s any issue with suppliers in big coastal cities more affected by the virus. I haven't seen anyone here calling it a hoax, even the staunchest conservatives. But then, we don't have an ignorant toddler in charge.
