Can you call your doctor's office, countrygirl2, to see what they suggest? I know it's the weekend, but my doctor always had someone answering the phone after hours. Something new at church today. Apparently, the "higher ups" have banned the shaking of hands, until the virus, or the fear of it, settles down. DS did the "live long and prosper" sign with one of his older friends at church (they both got a kick out of that). If you have a church that has the "community" communion cup, that might be getting banned, too. Don't want to be sharing germs. I’ve asked that they start using something with a higher alcohol content in the common cup to help keep it in check. I’m recommending 151 rum, with a little Koolaide for color.

Things are getting serious now with the TP shortage.
The resort we stay at in FL Keys just posted they are charging $15 a roll, or you can buy by the pice or bring your own.

Coronavirus: Italy extends strict quarantine measures nationwide
Italy is extending its strict coronavirus quarantine measures, which include a ban on public gatherings, to the entire country. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said that people would only be permitted to travel for work or family emergencies. He said the measures, which come into effect on Tuesday, were to defend the most fragile members of society. Italy's coronavirus death toll jumped on Monday by 97 to 463. It is the worst-hit country after China In a televised address on Monday, Mr Conte said that the best thing for the citizens of Italy was to stay at home. He added that all sporting events - including football matches - were being suspended nationwide. The restrictions are similar to those earlier applied to the worst affected Lombardy region, and 14 other provinces. Coronavirus: Italy extends strict quarantine measures nationwide

Their original explanation that they had so many confirmed cases due to aggressive testing doesn't explain a high death rate. I was really hoping their first story to be true.

www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mike-pence-says-he-doesnt-know-if-trump-has-been-tested-for-coronavirus/ar-BB10XLXw?ocid=sf2Mike Pence says he doesn't know if Trump has been tested for coronavirus By Maegan Vazquez and Betsy Klein, CNN 2 hrs ago CDC says risk of dying from coronavirus is low, but 'many will become sick' Vice President Mike Pence said Monday that he does not know whether President Donald Trump had been tested for the novel coronavirus, even though Trump has been in close physical contact with members of Congress who recently opted to self-quarantine due to their proximity to someone with the virus. "I really don't know the answer to the question, but we'll refer that question and we will get you an answer from the White House physician very quickly," Pence, who leads the administration's coronavirus task force, said during a White House press briefing Monday evening. Trump, who was also at the briefing, was asked whether he's been tested but didn't answer, leaving the briefing room before answering any questions. Pence also said that he has not been screened for the coronavirus, later adding that there has been "no recommendation" that he be tested. Two Republican members of Congress, Georgia Rep. Doug Collins and Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, recently announced they would self-quarantine after being informed that they were in close proximity to someone at a major conservative conference last month, who has since been diagnosed with the coronavirus. Collins shook hands with Trump during a visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday. And Gaetz rode in the presidential limousine before riding on Air Force One with the President on Monday. It was aboard that flight that Gaetz "was informed today by CPAC while he was mid-flight on Air Force One that he had come in contact with the infected attendee," according to his office. "Once he landed, he then was immediately tested," for the coronavirus. Pence was pressed by CNN's Kaitlan Collins during Monday's briefing on the President's interactions with members of Congress who are in self-quarantine. "I just simply don't know what the White House physician has recommended to the President," Pence said, adding, "we'll let you know tonight" whether he has been or will be tested for the virus. The directive of the White House physician, Pence said, "is to see to the health and well-being of the President of the United States and we'll get you a very direct answer on that." 6 congresspersons now are under self imposed quarantine and of course they have been tested. Just the plebians out here are not.

Maybe that was why he looked so dull at the conference. How do you rant and rave that its a hoax and that the dems and media are just blabbing about something that isn't very serious. Well what can I say, he is evil, I think he has lived his whole life with no thought for anyone but him. How many people and companies do you think he has ruined. I remember him firing McCabe after a lifetime of service 1 day before he retired. Who would do that? Whatever happens to him he deserves it. And the evil people that have supported his evil policies. Maybe this will be some payback for what he has done to the babies in cages and to the people that assisted him. It would be so ironic.

I did a little bit of stocking up today, just in case, Diet Pepsi and Kitty litter. I thought I was the only one!! Found it on sale at two different stores here!! I took a chance and stopped by both since practically within less than walking distance between the two. I am just thankful I am not having to stockpile drugs (medications) that are made in China

My neighbor is not one who plans ahead, so she didn't go to our local WMT until late afternoon yesterday. She said the place had been stripped bare. I drove past it also and the parking lot about 7 PM looked like it was Black Friday and all the stuff inside the store was free. It was FULL.
I'm glad I only have to think about what I need and not a family. As long as I have some bread, crackers and peanut better I'm going to be fine. Well, maybe I could use a few more cartons of ice cream....and maybe some Krispy Kreme donuts....I have enough K-cups for at least 6 months.

I'm beginning to think we missed the memo in my city. The few stores I've been to lately are not stripped of anything. Or maybe they are just real fast in restocking.
I did buy TP when I did my diet Pepsi run but that was because I was down to 4 rolls and I have a thing about getting low on TP. Just bought my usual biggest, cheapest buy.
But we could have stores in some parts of the county being stripped since we have a grocery store on just about every corner that doesn't have a drug store or filling station. Heck we have probably 10 or 11 WM super centers and/or WM Neighborhood stores alone. Doesn't even begin to count all the other grocery stores here.
Like Blonde Granny, I am glad/fortunate that I only have to deal with me and not a family. But would share if someone ran out of something I have. Not standing in doorway with gun guarding my stash that I really don't have
To top it all off is that we are a port city so you would think people would be freaking out Guess we only freak when the big H word is mentioned.

Sis found bleach and latex gloves yesterday. I forgot to ask her if she found masks, but since she didn't say anything about them, she must have. We're going out on our semi-weekly shop today. We'll buy another TP if it's available. I'm down one package from our max supply, so I can store one more pack without any problems. I usually only keep our max supply during the winter months, but I'd hate to need it and not find it. For whatever reason, it's flying off the shelves here. We don't even have a case in our county!

I don't understand the freak out about TP, it isn't actually a "need" to survive.
I understand water, food and medicine.
I know, I know, gross.....gross.....gross.....

Just learned that my local Safeway will start taking orders and bringing the order to your vehicle. They will start day after tomorrow. This is a great idea since we are in a hot spot. I'm going to use it.

I am 65. DH is 66 with a cardio myopathy, but very healthy otherwise (he skis and hikes and works out). We just had the first case in our city. Community acquired as far as they know. We are active in community theater, go to the gym regularly and have other cubs we attend. Tough decision coming up as to if or when we start avoiding these things.

There were 3 3-packs of wipes when I went today. Bought one for me and one for the family where I tutor and left the third for some lucky person. There were plenty of paper towels and toilet paper.

Absolutely no TP at Walmart today. The paper towel side of the aisle looked pretty grim as well.

The article mention cool air flow. It's an airborne illness. I agree with the drive through testing. I recall but don't have a reference where there was drive through flu shots in parking lots. We are using the drive through to pick up prescriptions since my H. one year ago caught the bird flu picking up his scripts. I'm using a paper towel to open the car door then folding that portion in. Also using a barrier of some kind for any doors. I use a wet wipe after handling a menu.
I did buy clorox but more for using in our drains monthly. I also bought the last lysol wipes on the shelf. I bought lysol spray in case I have to disinfect the house. It wouldn't be the first time I sprayed everything after an illness. What I wish I didn't know but figured it out, one government office I worked at was paid to infect the office workers to see what worked against that strain of common cold. The way I knew, is there was the scent of fresh cut grass in an enclosed office. One man who became seriously ill for weeks reported he smelled that the day before he got sick. I noted on my calendar what happened. When I smelled it a year later, I sprayed the air and surfaces as soon as he left. I wouldn't discount corona is being intentionally spread. I was also in Walmart years ago where a woman and her friend who was terribly sick with cough, runny nose and sneeze going up and down every isle. Spraying every item in the place the sneeze/cough spray.

Holy crap! Amazon is a selling containers of Virox wipes for $329.00. Are you freaking kidding me? It's just hydrogen peroxide. My work was throwing out cases of them because they were expired....the staff helped themselves. When I open a new one, I just pour in some fresh H2O2.
(Yes, H202 is effective against Covid19.)

I have enough TP and paper towels. We regularly use nygril gloves when cooking. I also have clear food service gloves. I'm over gloved! H. has plenty of beer. I have enough tea and coffee. H. is watching the DOW. It moved back up. Our moving IRAs to money markets won't happen until market close. We weathered 08 and 09 which was scary since we are retired. Our advisor wouldn't sell us out when we asked. The divis kept coming in so we weren't hurt. I am uneasy all the way around.

I did take DD out today and we went to Sam's, I didn't see shortages of anything. There weren't as many fish in one of the food sections, the fresh ones, don't know. Maybe they stock more on weekends. I have 2 cases of TP with another on the way and 2 cases of paper towels. I have tons of canned goods, grains, etc back. The storage room is like 10 X 10 or 12 X 12 I think, its the electrical room. I have 4 of the commercial shelving racks in that room. The paper goods are stored in the other room, so when I say I have enough, I do. I also have a tall pantry upstairs full, we are indeed stocked, LOL! 2 freezers, bottom of the fridge freezer too and 2 fridges. Added zinc lozenges, 6 bottles of 25 each, we can all use them. We have n95 and n99 respirators too. All is good. And yes in the hospital I wore a mask today.
Cooking oil, detergent, dish washing liquids, you name it. Shampoos, meds, I told hubs we don't need anything else. We still need to take a meat run, but we didn't today don't have time tomorrow. My doc wants me to come in in the morning for a followup. I'm tired tonight, did not fix dinner. DD and I went to Sam's and for her Five Below and her mammogram, that was it.
I helped DD to wash her hair and she has so many places she is digging I need to get her in to the doc too. I went back to using Allergy Free All but this is just something she does at times, I'm not sure what gets her started, I will get it stopped again for awhile. I trimmed her nails. Bought Neosporene to put on them till I get her in. I have had to do that before.
We bought gas there $1.83 a gallon.
We are ready for the zombie apocalypse, LOL!

And now they say trump did not test. So he could be spreading it around to others or maybe will be ok. I think he is thumbing his nose like this to prove that it amounts to nothing. Either that or they have pumped him full of drugs against it is why he looks so dopey. But it does not send a good message. Oh it does to his followers, just a hoax and fake news. Maybe his gamble will pay off. But people are still getting sick.
