Are you doing anything? I heard that hand sanitizer was sold out at a lot of stores here. I can't store a lot of food so not much there. I continue to take Air Borne Gummies and other allergy medication but nothing different. I did stay home from golf in the wind since I'm prone to sinus issues. No sense weakening my system needlessly.

Bought pet food in bulk. Figured pet food would be the least of stores' concerns if their stores are having a hard time restocking their shelves.

I'm not prepping at all. I do always have 15 gal of water and enough flour and masa to make bread and tortillas, which in a worst case scenario would keep us alive. I don't have that because I'm prepped. I just kinda always have that stuff.

I went to Walmart today with my trust list in my hand. I think I bought about 10 items that I need, that was it. I'm not in any sort of panic like so many others are. I did buy some extra items for the church food pantry. They likely need things far more than I do.

Around here when snow is predicted everyone buys out bread, milk, tp and beer. Have to come up with a coronavirus shopping list.

I did by extra food. I don't think it will get to a quarantine, but I want to lessen my exposure to the crowds at the market. We have 4 cases in my county now. I have respiratory issues. I'm still waiting it out before I cancel my cruise. I have time. I'm hoping it fizzles out by summer.

quarantine prep? not directly. I'm currently working through my freezer and pantry stocks so I don't have to move them in a month or so. I had a lot of shit stashed, so I'm still good. I would miss fresh veggies, but you do what you have to.
hopefully I don't need to worry about being quarantined, bc I do have the immune system of a lab rat. my employer sent out an HR note this afternoon, suggesting that we WFH as much as is feasible, especially those who take public transportation. well, you don't have to tell me twice!

Keep in mind, I live out in the country in a small town. The Walmart is in the next town over, a town with a population of about 17,000. In rural Georgia.
Walmart is completely out of:
All lysol/other brands of disinfecting wipes All lysol/other brands of spray disinfectant & liquid cleaners (no Mr clean for my mopping!) All forms of hand sanitizer. Purell brand, Walmart brand, off brand, any brand. NONE in any size.
All forms of liquid bleach rubber gloves face masks of all types (including paint masks)
There is no time table for when any of these products will be back in stock.
Running low on/out of waiting for restock: toilet paper paper towels wet wipes/baby wipes rubbing alcohol vinegar
bottled water
Covering my local grocery store in my town & mom's store in her town & apparently the closest Target: Completely out of: All lysol/other brands of disinfecting wipes All lysol/other brands of spray disinfectant & liquid cleaners (no Mr clean for my mopping!) All forms of hand sanitizer. Purell brand, Walmart brand, off brand, any brand. NONE in any size. All forms of liquid bleach again with no time table for restock Running low on bottled water & wet/baby wipes. Waiting for restock.
Sources (for those from the politics group) are people who work at these stores.

The 'nice' thing for home owners if they have to stay home so as to not contract the coronavirus is you don't have to stay inside the house. You can sit outdoors on your property and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and warming spring temps.
And all automobile owners can go for a ride just to get out off the house and away from their property as long as they don't closely intermingle with people if they are concerned.

We started preparing about a month ago, nothing huge, just a little extra each trip. Because I was done with all the staples, like food and cleaning supplies, I stocked up on personal hygiene this week. I didn't want to be stuck in a house with people who are healthy, but stink. So extra laundry soap, shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste...
ETA: We don't have the freezer space to prepare too well.

I’m not worried at all, in fact even our local chain stores have shelves full of everything that’s supposedly in short supply.
If I had to stay home, I have enough food for a year, even though the kids say there’s nothing to eat 🙄 along with plenty of ammo and wild game if we run out. Fresh water is abundant and as long as there’s leaves on the trees, we’ll have plenty of TP...I think this whole things is getting blown way out of proportion by the media.

I prep, always have, from growing up in the country. When we lived in Texas, had less then we ever did because stores and everything were close. Though I always had probably a week or two of food and supplies.
Here I suppose partly from being rural and maybe nothing to do I have stocks of everything. 25 pounds of sugar, 20 of popcorn, 25 pounds of steel cut oats, 50 pounds of wheat, and probably 20 pounds or more of flour in the freezers. Cases of TP and paper towels. Home canned goods and store bought. Yesterday I added powdered milk, I told hubs will probably go bad but I have it. I only use it in an emergency, but need milk to cook. We have a local farm that sells eggs to the grocery, so in a downturn could go directly to them to buy. I really don't want powdered eggs. I could likely buy a couple of hens and rooster from them or someone here if its extended. Also added some fresh yeast and need to check my baking powder supply. That way I can bake or cook things. We have eaten at least 84 jars of home canned food as I put the jars back in the empty boxes and there is that many. Now I'm taking more down to put on the shelves. But we must have 100 more jars of home canned foods, I suppose. I keep jars of the flavorings, Better then Bouillon, have chicken, beef, ham, and turkey plus vegetable. This stuff is fantastic as substitutes for meat, use them a lot.
I have all kinds of meds, bandages, blood clotting sprays, and a couple of the big pads. The military type blood pads are expensive, think about $25 each, so only 2 of them. Mainly if hubs would get cut working or me taking Plavix we could slow down the bleeding till an ambulance got to us. Honestly 10 to 15 minutes and they get here. But sometimes comes from the power plant and it will close in the next 3 years.
I still have meat, enough for a couple of weeks, again we were going to go stock up and again I don't feel good today. I have a sore throat and sneezing, nose running some, no fever, so hoping its just a cold. Not going to panic over this, if I get sicker and get a fever and start coughing then will be starting to worry. I will also call my doc or minor ER and tell them before I go in. But not to that point of course.
We have a wood stove for backup if we ever needed it, hubs has the stove pipes, its never been installed, belonged to his dad. He may put it in his garage. Not in this case of course, but it could be put in the basement or house, we have acres of wood out here so no shortage of firewood if needed.
I finally got around to getting a 100 rounds of 12 gauge shells, which we could use for small game. I wanted to get 00 buckshot yesterday and the clerk at Walmart said everytime they get a shipment some guy comes in and buys it all. I know a gun dealer where I can likely get some but I bet I pay dearly for it. I'm going to check elsewhere, need it to take down a deer, of which we have a lot.
In all honesty this thing sounds like the apocalypse books I like to read that I pretty much consider fantasy. But its very eerie that this scenario fits right in to what is happening now. Mainly to have a totally incompetent president puts us at so much risk. The only missing component is some foreign government taking advantage and having a terrorist attack throwing the government even more into chaos. We sure are at our most vulnerable right now, but that is still kind of far out I think, and hope.
Now of course don't think any of this will be needed in this scenario, don't think it will devolve into this but with trump in charge anything is possible.
I would advise to have some ready cash on hand. We saw that as a big problem in the hurricanes where noone would take cards. Hubs did say people could get sick and close some of the banks or some disruption could happen, so I have taken care of that too. We have about 70 gallons of fuel also and honestly don't know much we don't have.
Yes, I know folks think this is extreme and it probably is, but I like to be ready for anything. Just wish we had supplies of antibiotics and do not. Nothing I can do about that. Also no back up supply of all our meds. But we could survive without them, maybe not feel good for awhile, but would survive.
If you have read, the west coast container facilities are over 50% down. And it will take at least a month for new shipments to get here from China and they aren't even ramping back up yet, so if this continues with just in time inventories we will have shortages. And sadly we get everything from China, should not be that way. Yep, your overstocked person out here in the hinterlands!

I bought some extra food, mostly because IF either kiddo's college campus gets shut down and they are sent home, I will need to feed them. I have absolutely no doubt that they will resort to eating DH and me if there aren't sufficient other protein choices in the house. I also sent them some shelf-stable foods (microwaveable rices, canned chicken and salmon, applesauce, etc.) in case they are quarantined in place. With their food allergies, they can't eat the foods usually served in shelters or through mass feeding programs run through groups like the Red Cross. As for the virus itself, if we only knew the cooties we come in contact with each day we'd all be in the fetal position in hermetically-sealed rooms. Seriously. I mean, why is washing your hands frequently and not touching your face not already common practice (and I'm not even a germophobe -- I work with the public in a "dirty" industry)?? Both kids are on Spring Break next weekend. ODS needs to stay in Maryland for lacrosse games. YDS is planning to come home, and then DH, YDS, and I were planning to head to Maryland for some of the games. Not sure yet how this will all play out...will YDS stay at school, will he come home but we won't travel to Maryland, will we say "F it" and go to Maryland anyway because Eat Well/Stay Fit/Die Anyway? I fear being quarantined in a crappy hotel room out of state for a long period more than the virus. Stay tuned...

uhhh, I still have stuff in my trunk to unload, yes, I know way overkill. I didn't unload it yesterday. At least we will not be hungry for some time. I also back into the garage to unload so people don't see it. I told hubs don't show anyone what I have tucked away, really foolish to do so.
I need to go through periodically and donate foods before it goes stale dated.

New CDC guidance says older adults should 'stay at home as much as possible' due to coronavirusAmid a coronavirus outbreak in the United States, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is encouraging older people and people with severe chronic medical conditions to "stay at home as much as possible." This advice is on a CDC websitethat was posted Thursday, according to a CDC spokeswoman. Early data suggests older people are twice as likely to have serious illness from the novel coronavirus, according to the CDC. A Trump administration official tells CNN that the US Department of Health and Human Services "is in the process of doing targeted outreach to the elderly community and those that have serious underlying health conditions." The CDC guidance comes as two top infectious disease experts with ties to the federal government have advised people over 60 and those with underlying health problems to strongly consider avoiding activities that involve large crowds, such as traveling by airplane, going to movie theaters or concerts, attending family events, shopping at crowded malls, and going to religious services. DH's grandma used to describe herself as "old & obstinate". That describes me pretty well. I'm too stubborn to let some stupid virus get me, at least not without a good fight... If I thought I was sick, I'd stay home, or if people were dropping like flies, I'd stay home (there are a LOT of seniors around here).

So far I've only stockpiled TP, dog food and yarn. Why not food? Because I'm secretly hoping for an opportunity to eat my way through my pantry and freezer. I'm too embarrassed to stock up on beer and too guilty to stock up on jigsaw puzzles. We have house paint, tarps, brushes, rollers and tape. If we're asked not to go to work, we really should paint the house.
As you may have surmised, I'm not really prepping for quarantine as much as a prolonged period of restricted movement outside of the house. A lot of my cavalier attitude regarding food stockpiling is due to working in a grocery store and believing that even in the event of general "stay home" order, I'd probably be called in to stock shelves at least a few hours a week and that this would somehow give me an opportunity to purchase food.
I live a town adjacent to a large public university that has become somewhat addicted to the tuition of international students. I'm not exactly what I should be most afraid of -- a local case or the local economy crashing when many, many students, not all of them international students, fail to return to campus after spring break or next semester.
I'm really quite paralyzed. I should be prepping but the fear of the almost inevitable recession has me paralyzed. I don't know if I should be hoarding TP or newspapers.

I wish, but I don't have the kind of job that can be done on my couch in my jammies. We are about to hit the busiest months of our fiscal year. If people don't come out shopping, we're in trouble -- we sell tons of perishable merchandise.

We live in an earthquake zone, so we try to be prepared for any sort of natural disaster. That includes enough water and non perishable food for about 2 weeks. If told to stay home, we could do so without much inconvenience.

All set here. I still have stuff stockpiled from Hurricane Frederick back in 79. My first experience with direct hit hurricane so I overdid it a bit.

Fresh foods this time of year would not be available. To early for a garden and produce, that would really bother me no matter how much I have put back.
I do have home canned apples and peaches, frozen strawberries, blueberries, and peaches, so we have some and even frozen eggs.

Stopped by Kroger mid-afternoon for some non-coronavirus quarantine prepping shopping. What I noticed was toilet paper and Lysol cleaner and deodorizer spray flying out the store doors.
