LOL...Now I don't know about you, but I've always adhered to the rule of don't tee off the person or company you need to get you somewhere. Unless you don't mind walking. I flew back from Calif last night after visiting the grand kids. As I was boarding there was a young 25ish woman being rather aggressive in tone with the gate agent. I was in group B on boarding. The plane was booked full. I did hear the agent say to her "You are in group D". I didn't hear the complete argument or the outcome but it was heated. I went and boarded the plane and got my seat. About 10 min later, I see this woman get on board and get into a seat. About 2 min later the flight attendant and another man confronted her and took her off the plane. She did not want to go willingly. Shortly after this, I asked the flight attendant about it and she said the woman became abusive at the gate and then bolted down the gangway to the plane. My seat mate and I wondered if she got another flight or got red tagged from this airline forever.

People can be jerks. Airports are a good place to find jerks in action. She was probably place on the next flight out of there. First warning.

I think it was during boarding for my flight to Orlando last fall. There were two people angry with the gate attendant. I don't know what the fuss was over. They went down the jetway and one guy threw his cup of soup all over the wall. This got back to the gate attendant. He went down the jetway closing the door behind him. He came back with the two guys who were denied boarding. People are stupid.

Alcohol probably played a part in both examples.

Being rude to a gate agent is the epitome of being stupid.

Saw a drunk in 1st class taken off the plane several years ago. He did not go willingly. Kept screaming that he was a million mile flyer and he could not be thrown off the plane.
Next thing that happened, was police came on board and took him off. He was still complaining but he was not on our flight.
Don't know what he had done aside from being drunk. He was being a jerk to other passengers in the boarding area so it could have been from something there.

Deplaning someone is not as easy as say throwing them out of a car, business or even a boat.

The airline DD works for has very strict rules about not allowing people who are visibly intoxicated to board a plane. The wait is 6 hours before you are allowed to be re-booked.

People are dycks. I work with the general public on the weekends and I see people flip the script on the regular. Especially with site to store orders. A week or two ago this girl came in saying her MIL had bought her a pair of shoes. She was so glad we had them because she had looked all over for them. She was really nice. I asked for her ID because I had to verify who picked the order up. I informed her that MIL didn't add anymore else to be able to pick up the order, so she'll have to come get them. She did a complete 180 and started yelling loud about how it was such a stupid policy. Sorry, your last names and addresses are different. How do I know that you're related. And even if they were the same, you're not listed on the order. Why are you screaming at me?

And even if they were the same, you're not listed on the order. Why are you screaming at me? I order the treats my dogs like from Walmart all the time, and DH picks them up. I usually list him, but occasionally I forget - DH is usually allowed to still pick up b/c we have same last name and addy,.
I do order for DD sometimes, and I try to be careful about listing her as pick up person. At Kohl's not a problem b/c she is listed on our CC as authorized user, but at Target she is not. I don't think she has ever had an issue - DH has had a few issues at Wally world, but he never had them refuse to allow him to PU order. I keep telling myself that picking up in store is less convenient so I should stop doing it. My order last weekend - I thought it was in stock when I chose pick up in person, then after I placed the order, it said it would be available Today. GRR. I would have just had it shipped and it would have been at my house with less hassle in the same amount of time.

DD asked me why I asked her and I told her we were discussing here - her response:
The airline/employees are subject to fines if we allow an intoxicated passenger to board. Depends on how intoxicated. If they make a scene and the flight crew has an altercation w the passenger they may have to divert for an emergency landing which costs money and potential misconnects for others.
We have a protocol to ask them if they've been drinking. If they don't make a scene/slur/smell of alcohol then we can't do much. If they make a scene we deny boarding and usually inform sheriffs.
Pretty sure the 6 hour rule is an FAA rule not (her airline).
