Emotional Pet or not....to me, this is just to much..... I am not that familier with emotional support animals...who need them...how important they are to the well being of those who have them, but I think some commonsense needs to be used when picking such a animal..from the little I saw of the pig in that picture..this was not one of those miniature porkers that some have as house pets...this seemed like a real porker... -------------------------------------------- www.courant.com/breaking-news/hc-pig-on-plane-at-bradley-1130-20141129-story.html

Good thing the misbehavior started before they got in the air.

1. Many airlines are limiting what type of animals can be used as "emotional support" 2. Even a real service animal can be refused if it misbehaves.

Genuine service animals are incredibly well trained. That makes the scam "support" animals so easy to spot. People have abused this for a long time and it really hurts travellers with actual service animals.
I'm glad to see airlines finally establishing some boundaries. I cannot imagine how I'd react if a woman tried to sit next to me with a pig.

I knew this had to be an old article when I saw US Airways in the first paragraph.
Since then, and as lynerself and and GG have mentioned, airlines are now going to limit support animals to just dogs and cats (if they have not already set it as a rule).
The United Airlines passenger who tried to bring her peacock onto her flight as an emotional support animal was the last straw (or feather).

Last night I saw a network news story showing a woman on a plane with a miniature horse as a "Service animal". Really. How stupid.

Probably better behaved than some of the humans. 🙄 The article from where I got the picture stated the horse behaved well. Stood and laid down during the flight where it was supposed to with nary a peep.
