"Trump has always been convinced that he is surrounded by people who cannot be trusted. But in the 10 days since he was acquitted by the Senate, he has grown more vocal about it and turned paranoia into policy, purging his White House of more career officials, bringing back loyalists and tightening the circle around him to a smaller and more faithful coterie of confidants." ====================== "As with so many aspects of his personality, the seeds of Trump’s reaction may lie in his biography. Michael D’Antonio, the author of “The Truth About Trump,” recalled that the future president was raised by a father who taught him that all of life is a battle for power and that he should be a “killer.” Trump, D’Antonio said, came to see others as useful for his own purposes or obstacles to be crushed. ======================================= "In the last week and a half, Trump has pushed out two witnesses who testified in the House inquiry, stripped a nomination from an official he blamed for being insufficiently loyal and assailed prosecutors, a judge and even the jury forewoman in the case of his friend Roger Stone. His national security adviser has just finished transferring more than 50 career professionals out of the White House and back to their home agencies. The president has brought back two of his earliest and most trusted aides, Hope Hicks and Johnny McEntee, as he retreats into a cocoon of his original 2016 campaign team. And more personnel moves are likely in the days to come." ================================== Suggest the man is definitely skirting with Paranoia and suspicions against any one who raises concerns about him...Scary s**t , especially for another four years with no constraints against his actions...unless control of two legislative houses are in Dems hands and even then, the power of the executive so strong...as I said, very scary s**t facing the nation. I have to ask his supporters here..is this really what u want ? ======================================= www.yahoo.com/news/presidency-increasingly-guided-suspicion-distrust-171954101.html

Sheesh. Paranoid much? If he's paranoid, maybe it's because he's doing things as president that he's NOT supposed to be doing. You can't make up this level of stupid. The worst part is, his minions seem to be perfectly o.k. with it all.

Just more proof that Hillary was right when she said "he lacks the temperament to be President". (Not that anyone needed more proof)

He's one of those people who say trust when they mean control.

""I have to ask his supporters here..is this really what u want ?""" He is what I wanted when I voted for him - and he is what I want for four more years. No more 'do nothing' political lifers (think Pelosi & Shumer), we need a strong leader who actually knows how to accomplish things.
""Google: 'Paranoia' means that a person has become inordinately suspicious of others motives and behaviors, interpreting them as hostile when in actuality, there is no hostile intent."" Considering that Trump has had to do the entire work of the government for three years single-handedly and against the Pelosi & Shumer head-winds - I would say that you can remove the word inordinately from the definition.

The fact that you believe this blows my mind.

The first two years of his reign he had a GOP senate and House. He could have gotten plenty of things done about healthcare, infrastructure, and every other thing he claimed he would fix within 200 days. Instead, he put all his effort into a tax grab for wealthy people and big business. And he spent a lot of time golfing at his resorts. If he worked at any Fortune 500 company in the country he'd be fired.

Trump has never worked for anyone other than his dad. He ran his company with a slender staff (about 24) of family members and loyal toadies like Cohen. He kept a shredder on his desk to destroy anything he wrote down, and made sure he had a lawyer in the office or on the phone when he had business conversations, so he would claim lawyer client privilege in future lawsuits. He was the very definition of paranoid and untrusting. He has changed nothing in his transition from being the kind of his company to the king of America.

... And those of us who don't want such a person in the White House have to hope that, again, a minority of voters don't fall just right to have the Electoral College keep him in office for another 4 years.

You forgot to mention running trillion dollar deficits. He certainly knew how to accomplish that one! Oh and BTW, do you consider Mitch McConnell a "do nothing" political lifer? I believe it you look back on President Obama's term, you will find the exact same "hostile intent".

It might require more than 'hope', Trump has an impressive list of accomplishments, in spite of being hated by Dems. He may not need the "luck of the draw" that the EC gave him 4 years ago, he may win straight out. With the Dems running 2 elderly white guys, in a Party that preaches diversity, against Trump? lol, gonna take more than hope.

FWIW, the Democratic Party isn't running "2 elderly white guys, ..., against Trump. There are numerous candidates who have self selected to run for the Democratic nomination to challenge Trump in the future.

Just a reminder that Trump is 73, so he's past retirement age. It's not like he's a spring chicken running against candidates that are much, much older.
I'd still like to be a mouse in the corner to find out if he's got dementia, or some other neurological disorder. He definitely doesn't act "normal".

If you go back and watch a video of him around the Trump casino Atlantic City shit storm, his language and body language is significantly different from now. I don't know if he changed due to being a B level celebrity from the Apprentice or if it's dementia, but he's absolutely more rambling, less coherent, more mushy mouthed than he was.

I too think there is something wrong with him. When people get old the brain changes. I know for myself I am not what I was.
But I think being president has gone to his head, he is unleashing everything, with absolutely no inhibitions. I think he envisions himself as absolute ruler like kim, putin, other dictators and he cannot stand that his every wish and order is not instantly obeyed and is questioned. I think its driving the man insane and he is going to get worse and worse. He was basically a dictator in his own company and look how well that worked for him. He bankrupted them and if not for the oligarths through putin he would be broke.
He is going to continue purging people and pulling all power unto himself. If he isn't stopped I don't know what will happen.
I think before the election he may find some reason to declare marshall law so no elections. Or with he and mcconnells blessing it will be so subverted won't even work right. They are purging voters like crazy all over but people like Stacey Abrams are working like crazy signing up more faster then they can purge. That is likely our only salvation. He is in 4 more years, this country will be a shadow of its former self, with people like barr subverting the rule of law till it will be trumps law only. I can see him as evil, cruel, and gets enough military to put a stranglehold on the whole country. I truly fear that. We have one last chance to rid ourselves of him.

You think our economy will boom? He is not going to let GE sell engines, he is pulling back sales of things with technology that might be used. Several companies were going to develop here and now are concerned so decided Switzerland was better. China is having all their industries look at components we export to find other sources because they are afraid as unstable as he is, he could stop them from getting needed items by tariffs or just plain stopping export. You think these things are going to grow our economy? He has subverted the corp of engineers hiring of contractors, he is destroying anything that tried to keep our processes to avoid corruption as much as possible. Sure we had corruption but not to the level we have under him. Phil you ought to read more, he is dangerous and amoral. Has something deep-seated that is wrong with him. By the time he is through with the farm industry we will be lucky if we can feed ourselves. Keeping immigrants out is how we feed ourselves, we are going to end up a shadow of what we were. And they get in SS, medicare, Medicaid, will be cut so bad, what back to county poor farms? Maybe you don't need it but we do and everyone I know does. That will throw us into a depression. Yes, that man needs out and even the judicial system knows it, they are calling an emergency meeting.
