My mom had Alzheimer's disease. Mom's restlessness was driving my dad crazy. He could not get any rest. To protect dad's own declining health, we had to move mom into a mental health facility located in a building separate from a senior's nursing home. All on the same property.
Dad could finally get some rest. But dad also missed mom. He wanted to be with mom. The nursing home had an opening in a semi-private room. Dad said he would take it. Plus he could use the skilled nursing available there.
Dad was now able to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with mom. Plus spend a little other time outside of meals with her too.
