"What ever happened to the Democrats, We will work together for the betterment of our citizens??" ========================I believe, in answer to your question , when Dems decided that to work together unraveled was in 2010 started very early into his, Obamas first term , by a comment by Mitch McConnel, very powerful member of GOP ,minority Senate leader, about his working to make sure Obama would be a one term President. Not sure but give a lot of credence to that time period.{2010} -------------------- "WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell came under sharp attack from the White House and Democrats Tuesday for saying that his top priority in the next Congress is to ensure that President Barack Obama serves only one term. The Kentucky Republican made the statement during an interview with National Journal. But it's a variation on a line he has been using as he has stumped the country on behalf of Republican candidates in advance of the Nov. 2 midterm election. ident," "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term pres he said in the interview. With a Republican takeover of at least the House looking likely next week, McConnell's comment was seized upon by Democratic critics as a reflection of the GOP's determination to pursue a strategy of conflict rather than conciliation with the White House over the next two years."
Hopefully that answers your question on cooperation between the two major parties...Seems the first shots WERE fired by the GOP ===================================== www.tevitroy.org/8245/mcconnell-under-fire

Maybe this is why? Maybe the dems want more answers?
Last I heard, the budget wasn't doing anything to put a big dent in the deficit...I'm too lazy to look that up right now.

Betterment of citizens? Increase of spending on the wall, NASA, Space Force, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Nuclear Security, and Department of Homeland Security. Decrease of spending on nonmilitary domestic spending, EPA, State Department, Center of Disease Control, and HUD. Maintain the tax cuts for the wealthy.
How is his budget better for the citizens?

Maybe it's for stupidity? I haven't see this year's tax forms, but for the last 14 years or so, we've had to provide our kids' SS numbers on our taxes...So I'm not even sure where this is coming from..

Not sure about Shumer, and if possible, not from day one..Possible as the Donald unraveled...but definitely my feelings... I think for me it started the day or two after the first inaugeration when he got his undes all up tite over the size of his crowd over Obamas and he sent his press guy out there to carry on the lie.. {thats when he had a real press guy/gal} That's when I muttered to myself.."hoo boy, we in for it now"

I'm not sure if there are Republicans actually mad about the Democrat reaction. But when I first read the budget highlights, it certainly came off as a big "F U" to the Democrats who had just impeached him. Like he wasn't even going to try to submit something realistic.

I was kind of thinking the same thing Haitian... just let it pass. See if they actually do it. Let the people see the outcomes if they do.

Be careful what you wish for. Many of trump's supporters are just as if not more cruel than he is.

I do love how the GOP doesn't care about deficients when they want to throw money into tax cuts for the rich or new (but unnecessary) military purchases, but it's all they whine about when we start talking about food for poor people, air quality or health insurance coverage for everyone.

The flyover trumpets are too dumb to realize what’s going on. One of them told me “Oh, he’d never do that” when I told her he’d do his best to cut the benefits her parents rely on. She is as smug as she is stupid.

As usual your just ....it seems the reaction back home is kind of split...some fine with Romneys decision agreeing and understanding , others ready to tar and feather the man... Remember, Utah was the least in love with the Donald of all the States who supported him...believe a 45% approval rating...Anyway, he won't be up for reelection till 2024 I believe...we'll see how it plays out and he claims he supported the Donald 80% of the time...Personally I think he will be fine and will have a long Senatorial career.....if he wants it...Long after the Donald is out of office...possible deposited on the dung hill of failed US Presidents. Just saying. ============================== www.foxnews.com/politics/utahns-laud-decry-mitt-romneys-vote-to-convict-trump============================== Here is another article demonstrating, in Utah at least, the feeling on Romney as their Senator. While some disagree with his vote, it seems just as many understand it and are not holding it against him...As I said else where, if he wants it, I believe he will be representing Utah in the Senate for a very long time...in fact with none of the baggage so many of the supporters of the Donald, "no matter what transgressions of his" will be carrying around their necks..thus playing the role of elder statesman, looked to for compromising ala McCain , Kennedy. Something the country so badly needs, IMHO... ------------------------------------------- "Barely eight years ago, Romney was the Republican nominee for president and putative leader of the party. Today, the way many Republicans accept and even encourage the attacks on him from Trump, who last week accused him of using “religion as a crutch” to justify the impeachment vote, vividly illustrates the turn the party has taken. Utah Republicans never quite fell for Trump as hard as the rest of their party did. The state’s political sensibilities, heavily influenced by its Mormon culture, are more agree to disagree than salt the earth..." ==================================== www.yahoo.com/news/mitt-romney-judas-many-republicans-194110686.html

How do you turn a discussion of Trumps budget into a discussion of the Dems? So what do you think of his proposed budget?

never once, in (8) years, did the GOP EVER consider Obama's budget. they mocked his budgets- laughed at them- and called them "non-starters". I am not saying there is no justification for that. what I am saying is that this ruse of pretending that it has been any different in the recent past is just ear candy for the deplorables. nothing more or less.
