Do you have to die first?
I would have given someone mone the minute baby 2 was born. Take it. I don't need it.
On the weird side, was her first period when she was 33? What a time to learn to deal with that shit!

I'm at an age where no one would want my uterus anyway.

I'd give mine away in a heartbeat.
However, it's had 2 csections and it's full of fibroids, so they probably would reject it.

I have an appointment next Monday where I'm going to offer up my uterus. I'm hoping they'll take it from me, but I won't hold my breath.

I'm at an age where no one would want my uterus anyway. Mine too. But 15 years ago, it was in its prime!

I suppose there could be a donation from a living donor, like with a kidney or part of a liver.

Hmmm, donate at death?? It would be so much better to donate it after you are done having children. I had mine removed when I was 41 because I had problems. BEST DAY EVER! I don't wish the problems on anyone, but the end result was the best.

Too late. Mine was removed in 1974. I don’t miss it except I wanted more children.

damn. If I could have donated the stupid thing in my 20's (when it might have been good for something) I would have in a heartbeat I was one of those women who knew they didn't want children/weren't gonna have one (no matter what).
It totally betrayed me at 52 and was removed - when it wasn't good for much of anything. Get to ride the hormonal roller coaster to "menopause" cause I still have my ovaries. Wish I could have been freed from it sooner...

From the article:
Looks like a lot of women were like "here, have mine!"
I would think as the process of transplanting uteruses (uteri?) gets better perhaps there will be more live donor donations.
I would think it might be a more likely body part for donation versus a kidney as a woman doesn't really need a uterus for 'everyday life' to happen. There's just that weird "women can't choose to have themselves sterilized - even when they say they want it we (men/God) all know they really don't want it." that needs to be overcome.

We probably won't be "allowed" to remove a healthy uterus - at least without our husband's permission.

Lord knows that we're too dim and feeble to make the decision for ourselves.

It isn't that it needed explaining. It's just that it's nice to have an opinion or something added. I've been laughing at some of the comments for sure!

Too late! Extracted by a robot in 2011. Same here, except for the date (August of 2000) and the method (removed by human doctor), along with 26 fibroids. Afterwards, he told me it looked like a scene from Aliens. Glad I slept through it.

Mine is up for grabs after death, it might be too old to do anything for anyone...

Mine is really old but if some wants it after I’m gone, have at it! You might feel differently if yours was accessorized with painful, possibly precancerous fibroids and causing constant discomfort (when it wasn't inflicting actual pain). And then there's the whole endometriosis thing, which women who have it tell me is agonizing. But sure, everything would probably have been fine if we just loved it more.
