My problem has always been their timing. They all seem to occur Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm when I'm working.

People around here pay $35.00 for a yoga class with puppies freely roaming around.

I don't know how much the classes are here, but $19 doesn't sound like a whole lot to me. I'd pay that to take a class once a week. (That's actually on my look into list to add an activity to my weekly. routine.)

I agree it's expensive. I once had a groupon for unlimited classes for 3 months,$90. Sinnce then, I haven't been back. I can't figure out why so much either. There's really no equipment they are supp!ying, other than maybe foam blocks. Some gyms offer classes as part of a membership, or you could watch it on tv.

If the instructor is certified, that represents a LOT of training for both initial and continued certification, just like any profession. Depending on where the class is held, the instructor is either an employee of the facility and they want an amount over salary to cover building, utilities, etc.
I would have no problem with paying that for a class near me, but the daytime classes are "hot" yoga which I can do and the regular yoga is at night and I'm disinclined to be out that late. My $70/mo gym membership does give me access to several "free" classes but they are pretty advanced for my skill level although they are accommodating to newbies and old ladies

My gym has yoga classes included with membership. Maybe check out the local gyms and see if they have the classes included.

The private studios are expensive but I feel like everything is lately. If we have an activity that's less than $15 per person per hour it suddenly feels cheap.

If that's the going rate where you live then I assume the demand at $19 a class is there. Where I live whether it's yoga, barre, orange theory, boot camp, self defense, cycle classes or whatever flavor of the month/year workout is growing a membership will cost you at least $120 a month and in some cases that's not unlimited classes. My wife does barre for about $160 a month for unlimited classes and there's no shortage of people attending the classes she goes to and she goes a lot. The gym I go to offers some yoga classes but they're generally during the week when professionals take a lunch/gym break and they're pretty crowded.

It was fun, and free - so I jumped on that op!

Our local YMCA has numerous classes for yoga and/or pilates. They have yoga in the swimming pool on boards.
I don't know what level you are at. For beginners I recommend Richard Hitleman's 28 days to yoga. It's a step by step, day to day. It ends with 3 different sequences. It's very pleasant to do after waking up.
Youtube has a lot of videos on yoga.
That is a lot of money to spend for the group experience. At our retirement community, yoga is $6 per session. Essentrix stretch is free but at 6:30 a.m. It combines yoga and dynamic stretches to prevent injury. Spendy to get online.

If you're new to it the fiton app is free and has yoga classes. Unless you're naturally flexible the first bit you do with yoga you won't be doing the crazy poses or stretched enough where correct positioning is more necessary.

Here, too. $25 per session. I had actually considered going as baby goats are awesomely adorable, but I’ve done yoga at home with my dogs and cats and it’s always a disaster.

Memberships are huge here too, and most of them require the monthly membership, you can't get punches or a set of classes. It's a great business model, but I swear subscriptions are going to be the end of me.

I have the Barre3 online subscription for $29/month. I do barre at least 3 times a week at home and I also sometimes stream Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. Drop in classes around me range from $18 to $25 for yoga/barre/cycle/etc.

The place I keep considering is $16/class for drop in. They do have class passes good for six months.
The unlimited packages are billed in 3 month chunks and auto renew. I travel too much to get good use from that.
Reality is I will probably sign up for online something. Monday and Thursday nights would work only if I left work on time, no traffic getting home or to studio, and so on. Too much rushing around for me.
I checked the second place in town and their schedule is even worse. Frustrating that they think only those with flexible schedules or no jobs need exercise.

$20-$25 per class is pretty standard for all the classes around here (yoga, pilates, barre, etc.) Every studio has pricing for a set of classes (like 10 classes or 10 in a month or unlimited) but they usually only get you down to about 15/class, maybe 12 at some studios for their best packages. Go into the fancy schmacy part of town $30 per class is highly likely.
