mooch and M are coming up tonight. I'm making mooch's mom's meatloaf for him (and he will take whatever's left with him) with green beans and mashed potatoes. I need to figure out something to do with BSCB that goes well with mashed potatoes and doesn't have garlic or onion. the chicken is for M and me. Who wants to eat food with onions or garlic? Blasphemy!

Going simple again as I wait for Google drive to process a video. Making brown rice to go with Trader Joe's Mandarin Chicken which I do in the oven. Will probably put the broccoli in the rice towards the end, to have my veggies as well.

Wednesday night grilled burgers since it was nice weather. Maybe $4. There's a burger left for my lunch Thursday.
I realized while making the patties that I didn't replace the Lawry's seasoned salt.
Thursday night beef stroganoff since it will be gross and rainy. This will also use up the rest of the mushrooms in the fridge. Estimated costs $11.
Friday night cheese tortellini and garlic bread. This will be quick and easy and Lent friendly.

I got up early and stuck a whole pork loin roast in the crockpot for dinner tonight. I am roasting some cabbage, asparagus and carrots to go with. Freezer leftovers for future needs is coming up.

Not sure what dinner will be but thinking I need to make my $10 purchase today to get cabbage at .29/lb. Still need to do my tuna patties but I have a feeling that won't happen until Saturday. Had my .25 veggie patty for lunch with some tater tots and snap peas. (Praeger veggie patties were on major discount one week, $1 for 4, usually around $4 for the box.)

Happy Pi Day everyone! ~Last night DH grilled half and half burgers, and I made green beans and air fried parmesan and pork rind breaded eggplant fries. The eggplant fries are SO good! $13 with several leftover burger patties. ~Tonight: Baja shrimp tacos on top of romaine leaves with cherry tomatoes, olives, zucchini, yellow squash and air fried breaded shrimp on the side. $12-ish for 2 servings. ~Tues: Air fryer chicken legs, side veggie. (I buy the 4.5-pound drumstick family pack and divide them into freezer bags.) $4.00 ~Wed: Doctored up Cauliflower crust pizza $7.48~Thurs: Leftovers from the freezer. It's time once again to make room. I'm thinking the lasagna from last month? $0 ~Fri: Take out from? ~Sat: A belated St. Patrick's Day birthday party with a Meat In Day theme. We'll have smoked pork belly, corned beef, and a pot of ground beef and sausage chili. I'll bake Irish soda bread, cupcakes, and cornbread, and make fudge using white chocolate chips dyed green. Friends will bring salads, etc. ~Sun: Leftovers We ended up double dating at a new local Latin-American place last night. I had the carne asada, DH had the carne asada tacos, and there may have been an adult beverage or two involved. $45 ETA: Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!

chicken piccata, again. lol... I still have another portion, but I don't think I can do that for breakfast after just having it for dinner tonight. guess it's getting pitched when I take out the trash before I head to the airport in the morning.

Over the weekend here is the meal plan --
Doing ground turkey and veggies for spaghetti. Most to freeze and a meal or two. I have soba noodles in the fridge so am going to do a large stirfry and add extra to it. I have red cabbage, mushrooms and asparagus for extra variety.
The pork roast was really delish and half is now frozen for future needs. So leftovers for dinner tonight. Than probably a sandwich or two will finish it off.

I capped off a weekend of eating and drinking like a college kid, with making a box of Kraft dinner. I was hoping to not shop til I got back from the quick cruise next Monday, but I'll need stuff for the pups. I'm going to make a quick run tomorrow and grab all of the vegetables for myself for the 3 days before I check out again. I'm really hoping that all of the walking I did this weekend will minimize the damage I did to my metabolism, but the good news is that there will be even more walking on the cruise, too. and, way less frat boy diet bc the food on the ship is just inedible.

I'm back from shopping, and I think I've got the next couple days mapped out. Mon - turkey Milanese with roasted broccoli crowns. (this will make two portions, so one lunch is covered) Tues - chicken Caesar salad, the chicken getting stolen from the shredded BSCB I will IP tonight for the pups Wed - whatever fresh stuff has to get used up before leaving the next morning. could be a quesadilla, omelet, salad. who knows yet?

The roast was bigger than expected and I finally finished it last night. Tonight is spaghetti for sure. Stir fry is still for later this week.

I scratched the salad tonight, in favor of a baked potato. pups had the door open all day with the sunny day, and I'm actually still chilled after having a hot meal. I roasted some broccoli on the drip pan under the potato, reheated some shredded BSCB from the pup stash, and made a quick mild cheddar sauce to pour over the top.
cost? minimal. the potato's been kicking around a bit, broccoli was $1, and I don't even know where the cheddar block came from. someone must have left it in my fridge. lol...

Beef enchiladas, rice and beans. It's all leftovers except the rice. Just need to assemble the enchiladas and heat.

Last night DH wanted to grill. He has developed a weird obsession with a small Weber grill that I won at work. He even ordered a carrying case for it - the man who never spends $. What started as a pack of hot dogs turned into 4 burgers, because you can't waste a good fire. hot dogs - $3 ground beef - $5 Hot dog and hamburger rolls = $4 = $12 for 6 lopsided servings

Have no idea for dinner at the moment. Will finally make another batch of tuna burgers for lunch. Need to think of something with veggies for tonight and do some grocery shopping.

We went to Outback Steak House.
Hubs ordered a Blooming Onion, used to love those things but way to greasy for me. DD was hungry and she dived into that thing, also the bread. She ordered a cheeseburger and fries, only ate about half the burger so we brought the rest home.
Hubs had a filet and loaded baked potato, sure looked good. He ate quite a bit of the onion, but a lot of it did not get eaten.
I had grilled shrimp and steamed veggies with a side salad, I looked at the calories and they were massive in even mine. Couldn't do that often.
I really wanted prime rib but we were an hour or so too early. After the doc, we didn't want to drive home and go back to the city again would have been 160 miles total, so we just ate dinner a bit early. Hadn't been there but once since we moved back and that time the food was not good. It sure was today and we all enjoyed it. I will go back one day and have prime rib.

I got back late last night after some flight delays, and my fridge is EMPTY. I won't have time to get out to shop til my lunch hour tomorrow, so tonight's going to be takeout. I just went through the sale flyer, and my grocery list is all about fresh veggies and some lean proteins. a weekend on a cruise means breakfast and late night greasy food are the big meals of the day. I want all of the green things for awhile. question for the gallery - I have an unopened block of mozzarella cheese in the fridge, expiry is still a couple weeks off. I just checked it and noticed some white spots on it through the packaging. do we think that's safe to cut off and use the rest?

I have definitely cut those spots off before chiver. I think the rule is its okay for hard cheeses but not soft ones. I've done it but then that was my last use of that cheese block.
I need to do some grocery shopping as well. We had a great week away, taking advantage of DH's last week of full telework.
Sunday night was Texas Roadhouse take out $45 with tip.
Monday night ended up being chicken wraps made with tortillas, shredded chicken, black beans and cheesy rice/broccoli mix. Estimated costs $5.
Tuesday night I'm making chicken noodle soup. Estimated maybe $10? I pulled a mini baguette from the freezer for dipping.
Wednesday I'm not sure yet. The weather should finally warm up.

yeah, I've done that for hard cheeses, too. I know "soft cheese" means more like brie or the other stinky ones, but mozz isn't all that hard, either. thanks for the sanity check! I had a bunch of meetings added to my day today, so I'm not able to run out for the big shop during my normal lunch break. I did snag a package of Perdue turkey cutlets (~1lb) when I did a quick Walmart run yesterday for some pup stuff. last night, I ended up making turkey piccata with roasted broccoli. there was half a crown still in the veggie drawer from last week. I had some turkey for breakfast, and there's still another portion left for another day. tonight, my friend's food truck is up the street. I'll add a side salad from stuff I swipe from the pup stash, to a pizza from the food truck. cost - $13-17, depending which variety of pizza I choose tonight. I'm already over this whole 'being back to work' thing.

Similar to chiver78 , earlier this week I arrived a day late from vacation due to flight delays and the fridge is sans entree ingredients and fresh produce. I'll put in a produce pickup order for tomorrow after work (I have a meeting this evening) tonight after the meeting. While away, meals focused on shrimp, fish, and fresh veggies. Upon returning home, we had freezer leftovers Tuesday and Wednesday night which included leftover cooked taco meat for nachos, and a container of chili. I did not eat the latter due to stomach issues. Costs below are approximate, as I need to get to work, LOL. Tonight: Take out sushi. DH buys Fri: Air fryer chicken strips and salad. $5 for two servings Sat: Not sure-perhaps something at the neighbor's house? $? Sun: Grill/smoke something, veggie. $? Mon: Frozen leftovers if there are any left, if not, air fried breaded shrimp and the two remaining premade chicken tenders. $0 or $4 Taco Tues: Ground beef tacos, veggies. $6 Wed: Crispy cod and fries. $5 Thurs: Pork something, veggies. $5.50 Fri: Take out from? DH buys Sat: Something in the big city. I'll try to remember to use a gift card. Sun: Grill/smoke something. $?

I managed to get out to do the 'big shop' today over lunch, so I can sit back and plan a few days. tonight: the last of the turkey piccata, roasted broccoli and red potatoes $? veggies have been here awhile, turkey was costed the other day. tomorrow: late lunch at the Italian place, covers dinner, too. $? depends what I get. Saturday: pork chops with colcannon and roasted Brussels sprouts, two meals. $2 for pork, ~$1 for sprouts, ?? for the colcannon Sunday: Italian leftovers with a side salad Monday: Saturday leftovers the pork chops are dated 4/4, which is Monday. I think I'm going to just freeze the other half of the pkg of 4 for another week. no way I eat 2lbs of pork chops between now and Monday. I also picked up ground beef/pork and fresh kale that I'll need to cook for the pups once the current stash of shredded BSCB runs out.

UGH! We went out for Greek last Thursday, Friday I made chili. Sat and Sun we went out for dinner, dim sum in Vancouver with MIL and Thai yesterday before the theater. Tonight I pulled out a package of pork tenderloins and am going to have breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches for dinner tonight. These are a pain in the ass to make, but love them. Pork tenderloins were on sale at the grocery store last week, buy one, get one free so both packages only cost me $12, or $6 each.

I have no clue. I need ideas. It's late so I really need to pick something and order. I'm at my grandma's so not working from my kitchen.
Friday night I ate on the road. Saturday I can't remember at all. I did have a late lunch.
Sunday night I ordered a pizza from a local place. $35 with tip. I sent the leftovers home with my dad.

We had ground elk taco salads and three different types of tortilla chips. Sunday DH smoked ribs for hours, and we had asparagus and air fried French fries on the side. Monday I ended up air frying chicken drumsticks with a parmesan pork rind breading. SO good! Green beans and a side salad went with them. Other than the above, we've stuck to the list, LOL.
