DS came over with 2 pizzas which were "undeliverable" due to no such address. UberEats says to dispose of such food. Bechamel sauce, buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil and spinach, from a gourmet pizza shop. Delicious!

I had 2 oz beef filet cooked on the griddle and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. I think I will order another purchase from QVC, those 2 oz are just a perfect size for me and they only take a couple of minutes to cook.

Waffles, whole wheat. Deal with it crew, or fix your own dinner.

I made a small tray of nachos with the turkey chili. added fresh red onion, jalapeno, and salsa in the hopes of masking the sugar in the chili. didn't totally work.
I probably won't finish the rest of the chili, so that's a loss. but I'm sorry, bell pepper and added sugar is not a good chili. IMHO, which is worth exactly what y'all paid for it. π

Last night was baked chicken and stove top dressing. Tonight will be leftovers with a large salad to round out the meal.

dinner last night was takeout, I was exhausted and didn't want to cook. $18 for a pasta dish that wasn't all that great. oh well, won't repeat that.
tonight will likely be leftover pork fried rice. there's still a lot left and it should get pitched in the next day or so.

I wouldn't give it to them with all the onion and garlic I put in. it's fine, whatever doesn't get eaten can get pitched. this wasn't the best batch, anyway, between reacquainting myself with electric cooking and only having about 1" deep fry pan. I think my huge fry pan ended up in the POD, because I couldn't find it in any of the kitchen boxes I have with me.Β
tonight, I'm going to do up Instant Pot risotto again. it's really hot today, we're hiding out in the cool basement as much as possible. the thought of turning on the stove, just no. lol.. I've got mushrooms, pancetta, and I'll grill some asparagus to stir in at the end.Β

Home canned spaghetti sauce, added fresh mushrooms, and angel hair pasta, one of DD's favorites.
I nibbled on dried apricots, ordered a new bag.

Saturday night ribeyes on the grill. DH bought them awhile ago. I'm drawing a blank on sides besides salad.
Sunday night cookout. We contributed a hot potato side dish and a lemon raspberry cake.
Monday night I got ribs and put them in the instant pot. Corn on the side and DH also finished the potato salad left from Sunday. Slab of ribs was $10 and the corn my dad froze for me last summer.
Tuesday night black bean beef tacos. I'm estimating $6.
Wednesday I didn't have a plan so we did take out. I wasn't sure how DH would feel after his dentist appointment today. Not cheap but it was delicious and included a 32 ounce blackberry margarita for me and a big tip. The server who ran my food out was super nice.

putting this out there now, since I'm thinking of it. depending on consensus, this will be lunch, so opinions are absolutely requested!
this past weekend, I opened a package of bacon I brought with me from the old house. I thought the sell by date was the 31st, but it was the 26th. on Saturday I opened the package, cut the block in half, and cooked one half of the package to consume the past few days.
today is now the 27th. I opened the ziploc where I stashed the other half of the package. it looked and smelled OK earlier tonight, and the ziploc had only been opened to sniff contents tonight. as long as that doesn't change in the next 12h, am I good in making a pan of linguine carbonara?

I'm with your DH, but chickpeas make me gag. if you took them out of that recipe, I'd be all over it!
a recommendation for the next time you want to use up some prosciutto, wrap some asparagus spears with it and broil. a little olive oil and some fresh cracked black pepper, and broil til the prosciutto is crispy. it's excellent as a side, under dippy eggs, whatever. π

Made a big salad for supper. Leaf lettuce, tomato, Lebanese baby cukes, Vidalia onion, feta cheese, hemp seeds, Parmesan cheese and chicken breast. Quick dressing of olive oil, lemon, anchovy paste, dijon and a touch of Pomegranate syrup for a hint of sweetness. Lovely.

Last night I made a roasted gnocchi recipe. It has butternut squash, onion, mushrooms, sausage and I added broccoli. I thought it had something else the first time I made it. A little more sauce or something. Maybe I drizzled maple syrup over it. I don't know, but I used the same written recipe (which doesn't mean I made the same thing.π)

lunch was my cooking for the day - I baked some salmon to throw in a Caesar salad. unseasoned for the pups, crusted in Cajun seasoning for me. 2/3lb filet was $6ish. everything else in the salad was on hand.
dinner will be the rest of the risotto from the other night. kitchen is closed. lol...

Leftover steak from last night on Cesear's salad, I may have to make some garlic bread from my sourdough bread to go along with it. That's what is on the menu tonight.

Chicken teriyaki with carrots, broccoli, peppers and sugar snap peas. Served over rice. This assumes I can get my oven clean enough to not smoke and set off the smoke detector. I spilled banana bread and it's caked on badly.

Tiny grelot potatoes swimming in butter, parsley and smoked paprika. Italian sausages for DS and a nice piece of rainbow trout for me.

DH got his revenge. He made lemon pepper ahi steaks that weren't cooked well (no sear, cold inside), Chinese 5 spice rice, and cayenne pepper green beans. He had seconds.

A cheeseburger for DD and hubs, plus salad and some fried potatoes in avocado oil and an avocado.
I didn't want a hamburger. Had half a wrap for lunch so wasn't very hungry.

I spilled banana bread and it's caked on badly. if you don't already have it, get a can of Easy Off. I burned some cheesecake onto the bottom of my oven a few years ago, and it still took a couple passes with that to get everything clean. I'd guess banana bread would be a similar problem with the caramelized sugars.
