Not sure if any of you saw it but the first media I saw calling it for Warnock was drudge, lol. He tweeted congrats and took a dig at leoffler as a phony ann coulter?

Reckon Mitch has ordered new business cards yet? Heck, I'd pay for 'em. Maybe you should post your prototype designs here...y’know, so we can check for typos and such

An Old Lindsey Graham Tweet About Trump Comes Back To Haunt Them Both.An old tweet by Sen. Graham has been a staunch Trump ally in recent years, but that wasn’t the case during the campaign for the 2016 Republican nomination when he tweeted: Artcle and reader responses here: An Old Lindsey Graham Tweet About Trump Comes Back To Haunt Them Both

Quick question for anyone:
CNN has the vote totals on the bottom of the screen listing the two candidates and total votes. Regarding the Loeffler/Warnock election results it states 'Senate Special Runoff' versus what it has for the Ossoff/Perdue election which reads 'Senate Runoff'.
Now the Ossoff/Perdue winner is to a six-year term. What is the length of term then for Warnock/Loeffler winner?
What is the difference between 'Senate Special Runoff' versus 'Senate Runoff'?

I think it is military and overseas. it won't be enough to change the results, imo. Ossoff is going to win, and by more than 0.5%. so no runoff.
stick a fork in his ass. McConnell is done.
This AM, it’s just two counties, Forsyth (Atlanta) and Chatham (Savannah) who haven’t counted all their mail in votes. Given that both are solidly blue counties, and the mail in votes skew solidly blue, this will hopefully be enough to push Ossoff into a win. I think it was about 20,000 in Forsyth and about 7000 votes in Chatham. Forsyth said they would wait to count all of them, then announce the final total probably sometime this afternoon. I am getting a much higher number of outstanding ballots, statewide. something more like 70k.
I am still forecasting Ossoff wins by 50k. however, the vote counting has gone from really quick to a CRAWL. I am hoping that this race is called before the EC is certified by congress, however.

We did it! We did it! We did it! Voters in Georgia helped elect a Democrat President. We helped flip the Senate. We stepped up & did our part to help save the country.
THANK YOU to Stacey Abrams for all her hard work & years of determination to fight for Georgia's disenfranchised voters. THANK YOU to all the women & men on the ground who knocked on doors & did the leg work to get voters to the polls. THANK YOU to the voters who showed up in overwhelming numbers to vote. THANK YOU to all the millennials who listened & showed up. A special thank you to all the young men we know & my kiddo who all took it seriously and voted!!!!!! I know they are still not happy with the choices, but they put it all aside & voted.
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

Ossoff/Perdue is a regular 6 year term, but a runoff election. Warnock will only fill the seat until the next cycle, which is either 2 or 4 years. I am not sure which, honestly- but I would bet that he would win re-election.

He was last elected in 2016, so this Senate Special Runoff will fill the last two years of that term so Warnock will be up for re-election in 2022. Warnock was the stronger of the two Democratic candidates so I think it is good he ran for that seat as I think he will be more easily re-elected then Ossoff would have been in 2 years.

I’ve been wondering what is next in Stacey’s list? Will she run again? Or continue with advocacy?

I do believe the normal process (and we have had several here in MN when Humphrey and Mondale were selected as VP's, Paul Wellstone dying in a plane crash, Tina Smith replacing Al Franken when he resigned) is that someone is appointed to fill the position until the next national election. So Loeffler was appointed in 2019 and then came up for election this year

Lol yea. And target closes at 10pm so none of their cashiers should be turning in money after 10pm unless they're stealing money. 🙄

postmortem:
on early election night, I predicted Warnock would win, and Ossoff was too close to call. as the votes came in, I was convinced that Ossoff would win, and would win by more than 0.5%
at 11PM, before I went to bed, I said that Ossoff would win by 50k and that Warnock would win by twice that.
Ossoff won by 55k, and Warnock by 93k. so Ossoff outperformed down the stretch, and Warnock underperformed. not sure why.
