Baby's passport has arrived. Movers coming mid-week. They leave on Thursday.
I want to meet baby. They want me to meet baby. My quarantine doesn't end until Thursday, so we are doing an outside, socially distance great aunt meets great nephew on Monday.

TheOtherMe -- Yeah on both the negative test and on the upcoming visit with baby! startsmart -- So happy that you have moved in and wishing that you can get the appliances you will need asap. I had several medical appointments last week and have two upcoming medical items this coming week. One of these had been postponed several times so I just want to get it over with. The other is for my annual blood work. I will make an early morning appointment for that one as I have to fast. Other than that it will be the routine of daily upkeep, craft work, reading and napping. Plan to get a walk in a few times next week as well. I am averaging at least two visits a week and usually walk about three miles each time. Take care all!

Got a good day of painting in. All three peaks got the first coat of trim paint today. I also got the first coat of trim around 1 of the patio doors and the garage door. If I can pull of a second coat on the 3 peaks tomorrow I can say that I am done with the extension ladder. I would still have work to do on the 8 ft ladder but if I didn't have to haul around the 23' extension ladder that would be wonderful. I am so tired that it may not happen tomorrow.

The weirdest thing just happened. I was cleaning the lamps in the dining room. I removed the bowls, and DH put them in the sink to rinse. All of the tinting melted off one of the bowls. Now they don’t match.

DD and I are planning on ripping the kitchen apart, adding shelves and hooks, etc. and reorganizing everything. Super excited!! We’ve made a start this weekend. Emptied and scrubbed 2 drawers and two shelves and reallocated contents. Also cleaned and reorged Freezer. Still refining supplies to order list.

I washed some vases in the d/w and the color came off them. They were dark red for Xmas so quite a surprise.
I have so much to declutter, I don't even know where to start. I buy to much of everything.

I've had votive cups where the tint has come off. It was almost as if the tint was a thin type of plastic. I did it, I got all three peaks painted again today. I am now done with the extension ladder. There will still be some work to do on the 8ft ladder but the extension ladder is done, done, done. My feet, legs, and lower back are so tired tonight.

Well, I powered through the remaining 19 tasks on that deep cleaning list. I have a full day of work today, so it's a regular daily chores day.
I'll probably send the mutated lamp with DD when she heads back to college this fall. I'll put the other lamp in the napping room. I'll buy new lamps for the dining area.

Chloe that's so impressive! i have so little energy these days. good solution for the lamps. it took us 4-5h but we did all the administrative tasks on the list except for DH's Quickbooks. DH's bank became "incompatible" with QB a few months ago. it should be fixed by late July, so i'll catch up on QB then. it feels good to finally have a productive day.

I went to Lowes to buy a shoe organizer for DD's closet. Came home with that, and www.lowes.com/pd/neatfreak-13-39-in-x-13-39-in-Plastic-Drawer-Organizer/1001059736www.lowes.com/pd/neatfreak-6-29-in-x-13-38-in-Plastic-Drawer-Organizer/1001397990Then I went back and bought some more. I had two small drawers with nylons in them. I wear nylons 2x an year at most. I forced myself to purge it down to one. I also purged my unmentionables - but I could get rid of more. I am not finished with my sock drawers. It is a work in progress. I am also working on my tax return. I will not file yet, will go on extension - but am trying to get my number in place to pay in what I think I owe. I want to have it reviewed by a CPA. I am also working on a closet in the basement (and DD's closet). DD moved home with enough shoes to fill the closet I had when I was growing up. She had a shoe organizer meant to go on the back of the door under her bed, so I put it together and put a lot of her shoes on it. She has small feet, and some shoes don't want to stay on that one, so I also bought one of these - www.lowes.com/pd/ClosetMaid-18-Pair-White-Metal-Shoe-Rack/1001097516DH says it will not fit on the wall (he thinks it will interfere with getting in and out of closet). He is wrong and I am right. I designed all the closets in the house. If I can't get him to put it up, I will steal his drill and do it myself. I also dumped a whole laundry basket of Men's white socks in the garbage. I realized most were in pretty poor shape anyways. I have another basket of miscellaneous stuff to go through, and I have folding chairs in that room - I am going to move to the garage...but I really don't have room for them there either. I also think I will purge some more of DD's fleece jackets etc. that are hanging in that room (hopefully I can get DD to look at them for me), and I wanted to send my niece's prom dress back to her, but I have not done it yet. I am planning to get rid of probably a quarter of what is in my storage closet, it is hard for me, but I know I really don't need most of it. I try to do it when DH is not home, because he has an even harder time getting rid of stuff than I do. He always says I will take it to my office. On the positive side of that, with Bikes so hard to find...he brought a nearly brand new 10 speed bike home that was stored in the garage at our rental property (was my kids). He replaced the inner tubes. We are trying to find inner tubes and tires for a bike DD pulled out of the garbage but the tires are 24 X1.95 can't find that size, I thought I found them on Amazon, but realized that while I searched for that size, I returned 24 X 1.75. The tires on that bike are really bald, but DH is just going to replace the tubes and go with what it is. He fould a bike dealer that had one whitewall tire the right size, but he wants two.

What a whirlwind! Niece2's virtual graduation ceremony was Friday. Family was in town and my sister and niece1 and another mom coordinated a park party for niece2 and three fellow graduates. While in town, I dropped off a donation at Goodwill, and used my TJ Maxx gift card from Christmas. I bought 2 organizers for the bottom freezer drawer, and one for the cooking utensil drawer. I didn't notice until I peeled the price stickers they were on clearance. Yay! As I was rinsing the drawer liner for the latter I remembered I should have taken a before picture, LOL. And I didn't take a picture of the freezer drawer, but it does look 1,000 times better, and we can actually see what we have on hand. We sure have a lot of ice packs and cooler cubes!
The cooking utensil drawer. I could purge a few things, but am not ready to start another donation box. And, yes, that is a crocheted (knitted?) chicken pot cover. There is a black bear utensil holder next to the stove with rubber spatulas, wooden spoons, whisks, etc. The silverware drawer I organized a few weeks ago. And yes, those are penguin and Marvin the Martian straws, LOL:

Baby is the cutest thing ever. They are busy packing. They let me hold him and had me watch him for about an hour. So I got some great one on one time with him. The first time I held him, he fell asleep. They keep him on a strict schedule and sleeping was not on the schedule for that time but they let him sleep. Both the moving van and a realtor are coming tomorrow. I got to see baby's passport. He doesn't look like the sleeping 2 week old in the photo.

Well, I got 50% of the appliances ordered today. I went to a neighboring town to look at a furniture shop which... didn't exist but while cruising down Main Street found a business that was open. They have a truck arriving to restock this week so I got the fridge/freezer and stove on order. They'll even deliver (free!) and install for me. While it's more than the appliances I had found on sale, it's not totally unreasonable.
The local hardware store has appliances too but they were a) 60% more than the ones on sale and 2) a no-name brand I had never heard of before.
I also got lucky and purchased a twin mattress and box spring today. There's a furniture store going out of business so I got a good deal and brought them home in my truck. My queen mattress is in the POD and I'm getting very tired of the blow up mattress.
The bathroom and kitchen cleaning is coming along and I even organized the mess of my clothes in the master bedroom closet (which is such a weird space, let me tell you!) so I could see how much longer I can go before I need to do laundry in the bathtub.
I also took down the plastic from the windows on the first floor on the inside but need to go out with the ladder and remove the plastic that's tacked up from the outside. There are a lot of nails and staples to remove so I can assess how bad the window frames are and which ones I need to repair vs replace. More of the furniture is set up in the living room and it's feeling very homey.
Tomorrow I am planning to get my truck registered in the state (if I can get the insurance company to send me proof of insurance) and then purchase the curtains and curtain rods for the first floor windows. The house isn't exactly isolated and I would rather not get peeped on while getting out of the shower.
I'm also going to purchase the electrical components for the first floor (light switches, outlets and overhead lights) so when I finally remember to call the electrician I'll have everything already. It's not too bad, considering, probably $50 for all the switches, outlets and covers.

I got the gutter along the back of the house cleaned, green crud scrubbed off, and new gutter guard installed. I just have a short section of gutter along one side of the house, maybe 16 ft long, and the gutter that is along the deck cover left to do.

Alas, I would have IF my insurance company's website actually worked and allowed me to view and access my policies. After 3 days of trying I called this morning and made them email it to me. Took 3 tries because they didn't look at the email on file I got one step closer to finishing the truck registration, I had to pay $20 for a VIN inspection which feels very much like a waste of time and money. I understand in California you need a SMOG so you're not driving a polluting vehicle but here they just have some very, very old lady fill in a form (on a typewriter!) and then come look at your VIN. I'll drop by in the morning and get that finished up. I got some of the things I needed today but wow am I annoyed at how expensive curtains can be. I would like the first floor curtains to coordinate or match and there's no way I'm paying $40-80 per panel when I need 14 panels. Nope. Last night I slept like CRAP because the dog had to go out at 3am and then decided to play hide and seek. One side of my property is fenced but there's a dense bunch of trees he can get under. I ended up having to run around the house to catch him in the front yard. Then, I couldn't fall back asleep. The neighbor's light shines right into the window (I moved to sleeping in a bedroom rather than the living room) so tonight I am using the air mattress standing on its end to cover up the window so I have some darkness. While I wasn't super productive today I'm gonna chalk that up to 4 hours of sleep and go to bed earlier tonight.

Debthaven - the new house is in Kansas! I’ll be 36 this year and it’s all still very surreal to me 😃 of course the house does need work which I am VERY excited to do but I have a lot of dreams and plans. I am super behind on this thread so you might answer it later, but do you want to share where (or PM)? Several of us are in the KC area on both sides of the state line (I’m on the Kansas side). We’ve talked about a meetup before - another person in the area might be the kick in the pants we need to make it happen once we can all safely socialize again.

I feel like I haven't touched my planner since the pandemic started. I haven't even made a to do list, which is just crazy for me (the list queen). I am sitting down today to start getting things back in order around here. As it stands, the kids will go back to school on August 10th, so some routine needs re-established. I just printed out my blank monthly meal plan calendar (also haven't used since March) and I am putting together my to do list. My planner is probably so happy to be held and wrote on again!
