Finally made it to Kansas and will drive to town tomorrow for the walk thru and then paperwork. I wanted to stay closer but a storm blew in and it got dark and rainy fast. The trailer I’m hauling doesn’t have daytime running lights so I can’t drive at night. The dogs and I are in our hotel and resting for the evening.

TheOtherMe- Sending you good healthy vibes that you are safe from the exposure. You have done so well self isolating, it would be so cruel for you to get it that way. And I am sorry this means you won't get to see the baby. I am still steadily selling on my fb group, which is nice. I would love to get these totes out of my dining room. I have also been working my way through the travel toiletries I talked about here not too long ago. I think I've managed to use up 4 bottles so far. And I am halfway through a bar of soap, which I hate using. But it works okay for shaving cream lol. Now for an update OPPOSITE of decluttering- we are ACQUIRING a new puppy on Wednesday. I have been the NO gal for years on getting a dog, because I know it will end up on my plate of responsibilities. But the boys (and H, surprisingly mostly H) have been begging. I caved and put several stipulations on the acceptance, so fingers crossed my kids hold up their end of the deal. We have to drive to Iowa to get her, but she is absolutely adorable. She's a 9 week old Poochon (Bichon friese/poodle mix). Everything I have read about them is great. Hypoallergenic, doesn't shed, super smart, easy to train, great with kids. That's a whole lot of checkmarks checked on my list of qualities in a dog. I am going to come back and add a photo of her sweet face to this post.

Did the final walk-through today. Signing the closing papers in 18 hours. Pretty soon there will be a whole lot of unpacking going on.

Sigh. I'm adding one project and one potential organizational nightmare.
We're getting a new fifth wheel trailer. I need to clean out the current one. Then, I'll have to set up the new one.
Also, we've decided to take out a HELOC. We're going to redo the backyard walking path and area surrounding the fire pit. We're also going to build a room inside of our garage to create an exercise room.
I meant to deep clean my bathroom today, but I was lazy instead.

oh nikiz she's absolutely adorable!!! i hope you can meet Baby soon TheO. good luck for tomorrow. ends of stitches removed today. the nurse said i shouldn't wear a bandage and brace at home anymore, but that i should wear them when E is around. ds1/ddil/E leave tomorrow late afternoon for 6 days, so I'm leaving everything on till then. I asked my nurse friend E. she agreed, and said the brace is a crutch at this point, and if I wear it too long, I won't get full mobility back. hopefully 36h more won't matter. i'm terrified of taking them off, but i will once they leave tomorrow.

I am going to be down the rabbit hole of cleaning stuff this month! The house needs a good scrubbing but considering they cleaned it out with no water or electricity on, I can see why so much was missed.
The closing was fine, SUPER short paperwork when there’s no lender involved. I got the keys, got the utilities turned on, got an insurance quote, got my PO Box and made a hair appointment all in about 2 hours!
The trailer is slowly getting unpacked but it’s parked on the west side of the house and it’s nearly 100 outside (at 7pm!) so I’m waiting until the sun goes down to move in the rest of the bins and awkwardly bulky furniture. The dogs are settling in, I will be glad when they’re back on a normal schedule again.

I am official once more, the house numbers are now on the house. The low voltage guys are coming tomorrow to fix my phone jack so that will be one more thing off my list.

Aiming for a short(er) to do list for my first week at home. Today I emptied and returned the trailer and only needed to borrow my neighbor for one piece of furniture I couldn't lift alone. Then I picked up some cleaning supplies, another fan, a mini fridge and a new toilet for the master bath. The one that's in there is the kind you find in a pre-school for children. Every time I use it I count that toward my squats for the day.
Now I'm trying to order my appliances and these companies are so difficult. I do not want to haul thousands of lbs of appliances myself because not only is it time consuming but there's no way I can unload and install them myself! I will pay you to deliver and still companies are like, 'nah, we don't want your money.' SO infuriating.
My goal this afternoon (which is nearly gone) is to scrub the bathroom.
To dos: - Scrub bathtub - Scrub sink / cabinet - Mop the floor - Remove shelf above toilet - Fix bathroom window - Hang shower curtain and liner - Add no slip mat and shower mat - Move drywall to garage - Stock bathroom

I have managed to back up the computer today.
The boxes have arrived where I am going to store the photos I have been scanning. That is next on the agenda after a nice warm shower.

Not yet. It's only been 26 hours. Can you tell I am counting? The woman who did the swab said probably 36 to 48 hours. That would be tomorrow or Saturday.
I'm thinking my nephew will want me to do another one next week if I am negative. The woman at test site said I'm not out of the woods for 14 days after exposure and that is next Thursday. After I get the results I will talk to him and see what they want.
They sent me a text saying baby wants me to visit.

does that mean that you've finished the painting sharon?! congrats!!! No. I still have all the trim work on the house, plus the railing on the front deck needs to be sanded and painted, the back deck needs the underside of the deck cover painted and the railing also needs to be sanded and painted. The front door also needs painting.
On the inside I still need a second coat on both bathroom window frames, finish painting the new baseboards, the molding around both patio doors needs painting. I'm pretty sure there is other stuff that needs paint but I will worry about it once my list is smaller.

sharon i wish you could hire that handyman for a day or two to help you out. especially since you spend so much time taking care of your mom, as well as your grandkids. i'm sure even one day would be a big help.
i found more laundry in the kids' bathroom so i started another load. dh and i agreed that although we miss the kids, it's nice to have the house to ourselves again for 6 days lol. i can't do much but i can do laundry.
we have a ton of paperwork/banking to catch up on before the kids get back on Tues. then we'll have E once a week till the end of July. They're probably moving back to the UK. We're a bit sad but not surprised, but they'll much closer. With covid they decided they'd rather stay closer to home.

Debthaven - my house isn’t within 50-75 miles of the store so they won’t deliver 🙄 the ONE place that would deliver is out of stock on 3 out of 4 appliances I picked out. Currently I have a microwave and a mini fridge and bought groceries for the week.
I got the cleaning rags I ordered online today and also bought a trash can (the city doesn’t provide one) so I can begin taking out all this trash.
Halfway done with the bathroom and mostly done with the kitchen cabinets before I move on to the countertops.

ouch start but at least now I get it. will that place deliver when the appliances come in? did you have a close second choice they'd have in stock? i don't know if this is relevant to you but we buy our major appliances from a local mom and pop store (it's now their two kids' store) because they deliver within 24h and repair within 48h. they are the same price as the big box stores, but they have more limited inventory, and they don't carry entry-level appliances. it has always worked out well for us.

Got a good start on one of my most hated annual chores, gutter cleaning. I have gutter guards so the gutters don't get too bad. It has been several years since I have scrubbed the outside of the gutters with bleach water to get rid of the mildew and green crud. I try to do it every year but usually end up doing just some part of the whole, usually just remove the gutter guard, hose it down and put it back up.
This year I am replacing the gutter guard, it is well over 10 years old so it is time. It comes in 3 foot lengths, so it is easy to handle. Tonight I got across the front of the house done. I removed the old gutter guard, scooped out the sand and dirt that gets through, and then washed the outside of the gutters with bleach water. I got the entire front of the house done. I decided that I wanted to get this done before I paint trim. I may start trim painting this weekend and then catch up the back of the house later. My house faces South so gets hot in the afternoon. The picture below is what I use. The guy who installed the gutters recommended it and I have been happy with it.

I am so relieved debthavenJust talked to my doctor's office. Was told to still self quarantine for 14 days, which is next Thursday. Said not to test again unless I have symptoms. If I have symptoms, to call ASAP. Need to talk to nephew with this news to see when I get to see baby.

He weighs about 18 lbs and is a few lbs overweight right now. I like the name you selected too!
