debthaven, how kind of you to buy them the table. I completely agree about the benefits of outdoor time. I also think it is healthy to focus on different tasks, (as much as possible), during this time. To "get lost" in whatever project or task at hand, if you will.

Thank you Iggy This has been days in the making because DS1 wanted to ask his LL if it was OK. I said, you do NOT need to ask her! Either she'll keep the table, or one of your UK housemates will take it home, or you'll put it outside with a sign that says "free", or you'll put it in storage or move it if you stay in the UK next year. But you absolutely do NOT need to ask your LL for permission to buy a patio table!!! DS1 finally saw the light LOL. ETA: DH and I just walked to the bottle bank. That's 2000 steps I wouldn't have done otherwise.

Thought I would take a few minutes and check in with all of you. I finally made it to the grocery. It was a needed trip as I last went almost a month ago. Got there when they opened at 7 and then stopped off for gas. Was home by 8. Managed to get everything on my list plus a few other items. Wore my mask and kept away from the other early birds. I may try to get moving early one morning this week and get to the park for a good walk. By the time I finished wiping down all of the stuff today I wasn't in the mood to go back out. Decided to get to laundry instead and waiting on the last load to finish in the dryer. Have been slowly working on several projects both craft wise and house related. Continuing to find items to shred and to donate. They picked up recently so I hope that by the time I fill up a few more boxes the pickups will be restarted. debthaven -- sorry to read about the graduations cancellations. Sad that such a milestone will have no official celebrations. But as long as they have the degree and are healthy that is the main thing. Had a lot of other comments but can't remember what they are. Need to finish that laundry. Feel a nap calling my name.

Same on Knee Deep in Water Chloe I did one of those chores that isn't any fun this afternoon. Lucy had a hairball on the area rug in my bedroom a couple of weeks ago and it left a pretty bad stain. I had bought the stuff that Beth Stern says she uses and the stain is gone! It's 71 degrees so I opened the window in the bedroom to dry the rug quicker. I am amazed at how good the rug looks. It's my uncle's 90th birthday today. He is my mom's baby brother. Of 13 children, only the two of them made it to age 90. Of course, his party had to be canceled. I was happy to see that he and his lady friend are staying in. My cousins went over and decorated his house and put a nice photo of him on FB sitting in his chair on the deck. Both of his living children said they can't wait to actually see him. I also paid for my umbrella policy. The car insurance is an auto charge, but I couldn't set up the umbrella policy online. The guy who does my snow now did not want to do my lawn. I did find someone else so I called the first guy today. He told me there isn't enough money in lawn mowing because he has too much trouble finding labor so has branched on to other things. The rock beds he did for me several years ago definitely need some work so I told him I would call when the money from dad's estate is released this summer. That is outside only work so I'm not nervous about that.

Wow. He must be doing extremely well for himself to be refusing work these days. The cynic in me is wondering how long it takes him to change his mind and beg you to let him do your lawn.
Unrelated, Theo, I have seen several posts recently of adult kids and parents doing drive-bys, ie staying in the car, and either not opening the car window or opening it only if the others stay far enough away.
Like Iggy mentioned (I think), I'm thinking maybe this might be a way for you to see your new grandnephew (on a sunny day of course!).

In our area the teachers have been having neighborhood parades. They drive through the neighborhoods with signs on their cars, we miss you etc. The kids come out to the sidewalks and can wave to their teachers. The teacher parade went down my street today.

When I talked to him back in February, he made it clear he would do my lawn, but he did not want to and asked me to find someone else. Remember my neighbor quit on me in mid-winter. This guy used to mow for the church. I've made a commitment to someone for my lawn. The only way he can screw up is if he doesn't show up. Then I will be searching again. I intend to drive the 3 hours to see baby through the door when baby is about 6 weeks old. It's way to soon to consider that. I see nephew on Twitter at times, so I may ask him if we can Facetime so I can see the baby.

The elementary schools here did the parades. I don't know what the high school did. The middle school did a video. Somehow nephew managed to do his thing while sick with COVID-19. He looked puny to me. They all held up signs. None of the teachers talked. His sign was pathetic. He said the day they decided to do it was the day he was the sickest so they were lucky to get anything.

I admit I'm very happy to be working too (albeit from home). The French President is speaking tomorrow night. It's obvious that he's going to prolong the lockdown.
DH and I went to the pharmacy today to pick up our meds, it was a nice walk.
I have an extremely long day tomorrow but after this week work slows WAY down. I'm on a job mailing list for university English teachers. I keep hoping something will come up, but it's unlikely. Everyone is doing their classes on Zoom.

I have good days and bad days. On the bad days, I have bad hours.
I'm hanging in there and hope I can continue to do so.
I did therapy today by telehealth and then grocery pick up. I got everything I had ordered today.

TheOtherMe I'm so glad you're taking care of yourself. I already had a very long day tomorrow, then an Admin student who has never had time for a class suddenly asked me for a class, this afternoon for tomorrow. I said yes. I've been in a state at the idea of doing 7h on Zoom instead of 6h (plus editing two texts for one of my professor students.) So I just emailed her to ask her if we could please do it next week instead. I feel guilty. I told her if she could only do tomorrow that's fine, we'll maintain it. But seriously, she's had NO time for 2 months, then suddenly she needs a class within 24h?! I do need the hours though.

DH dusted and swiffered in the living room where he painted last weekend. The curtains are back up and he hung an art piece and moved a picture.
I put all the empty cleaning products from bathroom cleaning in the recycle bin. Today was trash day. I also dumped the toilet cleaning brushes. We got new ones. DH has been in this house 5 years, it was time.
Laundry continues with a goal of getting to the tablecloths. After I bake on Friday, the good Easter tablecloth will go on the table. I love it but it's white.
The big wall in the entry way has been prepped and sanded for painting. If this continues through May, I think the half bath and the entry way will get done. We picked the tile months ago. The contractor tried to talk DH out of using tile. He can lay tile, just needs the time. We have a tile saw.
We picked the tile at a local shop so no need to enter the cesspool that is Lowe's/Home Depot. Might as well check all those things off the list that DH has the skill to do but not the time. With no 3 hour commute per day or travel, he has the time.

Last night after work I did a little bit of yard work. Getting out and digging in the dirt is good for mental well being. We learned yesterday that they want us to take at least one PTO day over each of the next 3 pay periods. They are trying to reduce the liability of unpaid PTO since revenue is down from the Corona Virus. I don't think we are in danger of shutting down they are just tweaking the financials for now.
Today is PTO day to work on painting my house. I'm too old and out of shape to paint two days in a row. That all day up and down off the ladder is too much anymore. This way I can paint today, have tomorrow to recoup and then hopefully paint again on either Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. I am having a little ladder trouble. My Dad who has dementia can't understand why I want to borrow two of his ladders. I have a 6 ft step ladder. Dad has lots of ladders as part of his business and borrowing them isn't the issue. I keep trying to tell him I want to borrow the 10 ft ladder that you can walk up on either side. I like that ladder because I don't have to move it so much. I also need an extension ladder to reach the peaks. He brought the 10 ft ladder over. We were looking at the peaks and talking about them and then on his way out he says well let me know if you decide you need the extension ladder.

All of my FIL's ladders are now at my house. Let's just say DH is in no hurry to return any of them. FIL will be 75 in June, his balance is not what it used to be. DH is happy to do anything they may need even if he does complain.

Sharon Be careful. I'm sorry about the ladder confusion Dementia is so cruel. I painted my own house once when I was quite young--mostly by myself. I borrowed ladders. The house had a flat roof, but the section over the living room was peaked. I had to get on the flat roof to paint along the windows at the top of that peak. I got scared coming down and froze. I had to call for my neighbors to come help me down. It was easy getting up there, but then I could not get down. Luckily for me, the neighbors were outside and came to my rescue. That's the last house I painted on the outside. The next house was a two story house and I knew I could not handle the ladders. It also had some strange roof lines. That's the last house I owned that needed paint. This one has vinyl siding.

Well I am heading home and at the airport 3 hours early. They’ve changed my flight so many times I don’t trust the online check-in / which is good because their system didn’t have the proper info and it took 15 min with an agent to figure out. I’m wearing my mask and have a bunch of wet wipes to clean things up.
I could use good juju, I woke up at 2am due to pain and while I think it’s a muscle strain, I won’t be back home for 14 hours. Pain meds have helped but early this morning I was contemplating going to the hospital it was so bad. If I can get through all this travel with pain at 5/10 that would be great.

Hope the pain subsided, even if just a bit, startsmart. wvugurl26's post about not wanting to look back at this as time wasted hit home. It's time to get organized here at the office. A client friend who was laid off a few weeks ago is here helping with the ginormous file stack. I plowed through some to do's late yesterday afternoon. And I'll do the same today.

Hugs startsmart , I hope you can back home soon. Did you make any decisions on your next home? DH decided he wanted to organize an online zoom for his birthday tomorrow. He asked me to share my professional Zoom license (from Job 1). I would have done it for family and close friends. But no, DH wanted to put that link up on FB. I told DH sorry but there's NO WAY I'm putting that Zoom link on FB. So DH just created his own professional Zoom account, and put HIS link up (which I shared on my FB account.) So everybody's happy.

It's my Friday, so Happy Passover and early Easter to everyone! We have a ham from last year's pig purchase which DH will smoke. We'll serve it with potatoes, cornbread, and a green veggie of some sort. We'll dye eggs and decorate them using the unicorn PAAS kit I bought last month. And Saturday night we'll watch the only movie we have with a bunny in it: The Secret Life of Pets 2.
