UK now on lockdown, so thankful that DS1 and co made it there before that happened.
DH did the tops of the all cabinets, yikes they were greasy. I haven't done any more in the kitchen, and probably won't till the weekend.
They're getting stricter here as of tomorrow. All exercise (ie walks) must be done ALONE (for adults, obviously not for kids). So much for my walks with DH. We're hoping to still be able to walk together in that private park across the street, but we'll see. They'll be prolonging the quarantine later in the week.
Didn't manage to do anything but my Zoom classes today.
This week - mark 2 MSc reports - mark 2 Job 2 final presentations - enter Job 2 marks
Mini Project: Kitchen - 4 6 top cabinets (DH will do the top shelves)
Some days are better than others.
ETA: I took Shitepile off this week's list because I'm feeling low. I left what I absolutely need to do before I get a ton of marking next week.

Congrats startsmart What a relief! debthaven I totally get the feeling low. I'm about as low as I ever get right now. The thought of this continuing for months is driving me crazy. I only did what I had to do today. Trash and recycling to the curb. I do take care of Lucy's food and box daily. I finally put dad's soda cans in the recycling. Nobody is taking them back and giving people the nickel they are worth and I'm tired of them being in my garage. So 36 cans. The end of an era for me since I don't drink soda. Goodwill is closed so no place to take donations.

I'm so glad to have you too my friends. <3 TheO I don't think this will last for months (plural), but I do think it will last for weeks or a month. We had planned to go to the UK for Easter weekend, obviously that's out. France is about 7-10 days behind Italy, and I think the US (as a whole) is about 7-10 days behind France. The UK is 7-10 days behind the US (as a whole). The French Education Minister has been talking about kids going back to school at the end of Easter vacation for all zones (vacation is staggered here, by zone, for tourism reasons) by May 4. That may not include universities, but at least it gives us a vague idea of when the government thinks that things might get "back to normal". So yes, that would mean half of March and all of April in lockdown, but at least it's not MONTHS (plural). But it's hard going nonetheless, trust me, I know. The other thing I forgot to mention is, fines are being tripled or quadrupled here. And four fines in a month = 6 months in jail.

As I mentioned my friend D is sick with Covid 19. I texted her DH, I wanted to do something for her. He said, just call her! Well duh, like I haven't. I was hoping she has a kindle so I could send her an Amazon GF to help her pass the time. She doesn't have one and doesn't want one. I would have sent her a physical book but Amazon has stopped all "non-essential" deliveries here so we both agreed there was no point. She lives 45 min from me so there is nothing useful I can do for her.

I am officially moved OUT and back to the Bay Area for a few more days. I feel really bad that I had to leave some furniture behind (4 nice indoor chairs + 2 outdoor chairs) because Goodwill is shut down still and I did NOT want to leave them on the curb marked "free." It's supposed to rain tomorrow and I don't need furniture sitting out there getting moldy and looking trashy. I did provide the buyers with a binder full of details plus a Word doc copy which has links to all the appliances, owner's manual info, lighting sources, window sizes, paint colors - everything I could think of. They also have 2 bonus air filters, spare paint, extra flooring and a roll of toilet paper The house looked SO bare. My only regret was that I didn't get the lawn mowed. I asked the landscaper on Friday if he could come before Monday at noon and he said yes, then I confirmed today that the latest he could arrive was 3pm. I finally left town at 3:15 and texted him not to bother. He immediately says "I'm on my way." No. Do not come. I am not paying you. It wasn't that bad but I thought it would be nice for the new owners to have the lawn done and I've been trying to help out smaller businesses due to all this COVID-19 mess but if you can't show up in the time I requested and don't communicate until after the deadline (which was already extended!) then you're not getting paid. Super frustrating.

Today was a day off because I was having the electrical panel in my house replaced. No electricity = no internet, so no work from home. That's okay I took it kind of easy today, which I needed. I did get started going through the great wall of fabric and throwing away some of the little pieces I had been saving because you never know that might work in a block somewhere. I also refolded the fabric and straightened it out because I tend to pull out a drawer and paw through it. I got less half of the drawers done, and for every 10 scraps I counted 1 item out the door. My total out the door for fabric was 33. There is a 95% chance the DD, DSIL and the kids will be moving. DSIL is in talks to take a job at another farm. I think about the only thing left is to tell his Dad he's leaving the farm. This will put them about 20 minutes closer to me. The owner of this farm wants them to live on the farm. I don't know why but that is what he wants. They will be provided a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath home rent free, it includes water, electricity and internet. They would just need to pay for cable TV if they want it. The farmer wants DSIL so badly that he is going to go in and refurbish the home, new paint, carpet etc and the kids get to pick out the colors. He is also going to fence the yard to keep the dog and kids in.
This farmer has also said that if they want to lease some land and do some farming of there own on the side he will allow them to use his equipment. For now they are going to keep there house and rent it out. DD said it is just too good of a job to pass up. DSIL will be making more money, he will get regular paychecks. Working for Dad sometimes his paycheck was held up. Best of all they aren't moving to Montana. They were seriously discussing moving there and I'm so glad they aren't.

Decorating and organizing will take me some time in the attic. The furniture we want to purchase is at IKEA, so until they reopen we will make due. I looked into ordering the tv stand for delivery. The item is $139 and shipping is $132. No thanks to that, I can wait. Here are some before and after pics for you! (I’m not sure why the after pictures uploaded so blurry, I’ll have to mess with the files and see if I can get them to upload clearer) Before: After: Before: After: After: (we added this dormer) another in the knee wall storage cubby, like the photo before this, is to the right of this dormer as well Before: Ceiling Basically After: we added a faux beam and attached sconces to optimize lighting i.postimg.cc/MpRhnhN7/0-C5-CEAD3-A5-EC-4947-9165-0-C44-D975-B7-DC.jpg[/img]After: my kids wasted no time making it theirs 😂

That looks amazing, nikiz628 ! How wonderful for the kids. I'm glad for you, startsmart , that the coronavirus hasn't stymied the sale of your house. Congratulations on your sale and soldiering on through that tremendous amount of work. debthaven, we're strongly encouraged to stay home but going out together as a family, for a walk or to the grocery store, is not a problem. Today they shut down all non-essential businesses altogether, unless all work can be done at home. My DS was in town last weekend and I'm very glad I was able to see him. New York City is shut down now in a big way. The streets are empty, especially for NY. Here in the D.C. area they've cancelled the Cherry Blossom Festival even though it is an outdoors thing among all other events and closed the Mall. Maryland, DC and Virginia sort of group together with public activities and disasters. We're all mirroring each other in restrictions for the coronavirus, too.

Nikiz your playroom looks wonderful! I am sure it is nice to have the kids toys out of sight in your main living area.
How much did the dormers cost you? Did your DH do it himself, or did you hire someone?
My son and another relative have talked about doing that.

I tackled the guest room closet yesterday; it holds seasonal decorations, toy box for GGKs, etc. The sorting is harder there, I'm not sure I'm going to be using all those Christmas decorations again but I hate to get rid of them. Still thinking on some of this.

Sharon , 20 minutes closer is great! LOL about the children moving in so quickly, nikiz628 ! Glad you are allowed to walk to the store, finnime . Great job, vetswife! Closets are one of my weaknesses. It's amazing how much they hold. Our governor asked that work forces be reduced by 50%, or shifts be staggered when possible to reduce exposure. A news article yesterday indicates some doctors want him to order a statewide shelter in place. Apparently at least 3 counties have done so on their own. He's concerned about the economy if it shuts down completely. Further, a clinical professor said, “In general, across Colorado, we don’t have a huge issue with density,” she said. “So I don’t think there's a reason for a statewide shelter-in-place order right now." This is true. Personally, I can see both sides. Our communities aren't as dense as Denver or Boulder, for instance.
Meanwhile, I had to stop myself from touching the top slider of my coffee mug after buying fuel this AM. I waited until I washed my hands after arriving at the office building.

With your respiratory issues, Iggy, I'd definitely err on the side of caution. Can you work from home? The government "health committee" met yesterday. Tonight they announced that they are recommending a 6-week quarantine. It's not sure the government will follow their recommendations, but that was what they are recommending.

I can, and will, when required to do so. I haven't had any walk-ins, and the doors are locked, so no exposure in here. (knock wood) The county to the southeast of us ordered stay in place last night through at least April 17th.

I'm hoping our governor will order stay in place. Think the chances of that are slim to none.
One of the people in my county who tested positive continued going to work while waiting for his test results, even though he was told not to do that.
I'm sure the community really appreciates him. He identified himself to a television station and was on last night's news. From the comments about his actions on FB, he's best be in hiding now as all of our cases are community spread.
I have not had face to face contact with another human being for 7 days now. Seen just a few people when I get my mail.
My next therapy appointment with be by telehealth with zoom. My therapist said last week they had expedited the approval process and it's happened already. I called today because I'm not having a good day since hearing I'm expendable because of my age. Now will have appointment on Thursday.
Seriously considering seeing if nephew will pick up groceries and bring them to me. I am afraid of catching this. I don't think I would survive it so taking all precautions I can.

I'm very upset at the recommendation of 6 weeks here (so another 5 weeks). Nothing government decision though (yet?) TheO I'm so glad the telehealth appt was approved so quickly! I was on Zoom for 7h today. I just saw the expression "zoom hangover" today.

TheOtherMe , I am glad you have your fur baby, and to hear about your upcoming appointment. And I bet your nephew would really want to help out if asked. Ugh, debthaven, 7 hours is too much for anything. Except sleep, LOL.

I downloaded Zoom and have codes to get in.
I was told the clinic's IT department might call tomorrow.
I was glad to hear that the psychiatric department is closed tomorrow so the therapists can have some much needed time to do some self care.
I have problems myself with absorbing the pain of others. I don't know how some of the anxiety patients are feeling and that they probably have some about this new way of living is not being absorbed by them.
If need be, I would do six weeks of a quarantine if it would help get rid of this horrible virus.
I saw India is making everyone stay in their home.

It's already hard and I'm not under a stay in place order.
I am pretty much treating myself as being under one because my Governor will not order one and my town is too small for one to be ordered. In the city where I grocery shop, the mayor has asked for people to voluntarily stay home.

I am definitely living in an altered universe.
It's been 24 hours and the house is still spotless.
DH is in the kitchen doing tai chi. He NEVER does that.
DD and her boyfriend are cleaning her room. He's staying with us because his family won't even come out of their rooms.
L is staying at her boyfriend's house.
It's CALM. Life is rarely calm around here.

I texted my close friend S who co-runs a non-crucial department at the local hospital. I said, so realistically, how long are we looking at? She said bank on the 6 weeks, and hope for a bit less.
My friend D who is sick is a psychotherapist. She had emailed all her patients offering to do Skype/FT consultations at a reduced rate. But she's been sick in bed for 8 days. I know she does the occasional virtual consultation but she feels so guilty that she isn't there for her patients the way she wants to be.
I just need to get through the next two weeks, then things should calm down. Plus I realize I have to build an entire course this weekend! I kept telling myself, it doesn't start till 2 April, you have plenty of time. But that's next week!!!

Just popped in to say a quick hello! Like most of you I am staying in place. We are now on a statewide stay in place mandate. Local area has been shutdown earlier. We have a large number of positive cases in the local area and no sign of it easing up as of now. I have not left the house in 10 days and have not had close face to face contact with anyone in 8. Saw one of my neighbors earlier today and we greeted each other from about 15 feet away. Keeping in touch with friends and family by phone, text or email. I am also grateful to have this community to visit with.
I have been keeping busy but at times it seems that I am not accomplishing anything. I finally had the motivation to go through several files of old travel/vacation items. Lots of things made it into the trash while doing this. Old maps, tourist info, and other things from old vacations were trashed. I am 100% sure that all of that info is now outdated and if I get the to visit those areas again I am sure that the information would be available in some form to me. This did free up some area in a filing box and I will see if I can eliminate additional things and move whatever is left into another area and totally empty that container.
I got hooked on a puzzle and finally finished it. Somehow I managed to lose a piece so it will be trashed. If it was complete I would have donated it. It was one from the dollar store so not really upset about it. Think I have several other puzzles here for sometime in the future.
I did finish a few small projects including those bracelets I had listed. Think I make one or two more over the goal. Also started a major project but will work on it in pieces as I try to get a few smaller things made. Still have not taken any photos and need to get them done and off my list soon. Since I am staying in place I am not renewing or adding items to the Etsy shop. If I get a sale then I will deal with it. As I usually only average 1 sale a year I am not too concerned. Those that are still active I will leave that way.
I completed the project form my craft class. So glad I was able to bring home everything needed to finish it once I learned that the facility was going to be shut down. Still have not worked on what I could do on the one from my SG class. Will not be able to finish it as I will need help with it but I should be able to get a few things done.
Posting this so I don't lose it.
