Yup. Lots of low-wage jobs so that families can have two or three for each adult in order to keep a roof over their heads and feed and cloth their kids.

Trump on the other hand has been trying to bring High paying manufacturing job back to the U.S.A.

Except he has failed on that front as just discussed the other day.

So you expect everyone to start at least at the middle management level. Bless your heart. Celebrate people actually getting jobs. Most of the people looking to be hired are either over 50 or under 25. Over 50 probably needs a lot of retraining. Under 25 probably needs simple English copmprehension and math skills.

Well, let's see, isn't this the time of year that many seasonal/holiday jobs come open...you know, for the Christmas rush & then the January returns?
I would expect job numbers to be up.
VB...you assume a lot with your concept of who is looking & being hired...and you know what ass-u-me does!

“Shovel ready jobs” as they were called, were in building infrastructure- roads, bridges etc- which means they were prevailing wages jobs=high pay! If you wanna bash someone at least make sure what you are saying is accurate. Otherwise you sound like Trump!😂

You can't blame Obama for whatever happens to the economy now. Trump owns it, for better, or for worse. And, as kadee79 mentioned, I'm expecting a slump after the holidays. Fewer jobs, and less spending.

If you want a job you have a job, if you are any good you will have people wanting to hire that pay more! If you are exceptional you have a high paying job!! Some complain about half of the Country is in a low paying job,,, which is where they probably should be! A lot worth next to nothing people out there, Ask ANY employer.

While I can't disagree that there are some employees who don't pull their weight, there are also a lot of folks who are "worthy" who are unemployed, or underemployed, and working 2 or 3 jobs to try & keep their heads above water. Don't lump everyone in the same category. Unfortunately, in my new community, unless you're willing to work for $9 an hour, there isn't much out there, unless you are, for example, in the medical field. I've met a number of folks here who have started their own businesses, just out of frustration of the low wages here. But of course, you need money to start a business, too.

what we want is for wages to keep up with productivity. they did, for 150 years up until 1973.
now you are getting mad at us for complaining that it has not done so since then?
that's just wrong. people are right to be pissed. the benefits of increased productivity have accrued to the top 10%, but not to the bottom 90%.
the last time this happened was in the 30's.
we will see if we are all so complacent now as to let them get away with it or not.

For some reason I can’t post the link to Business Insider about the trucking companies. Trucking industry has been in a constant decline in 2019 and experts say that that is a sign of upcoming recession. One of the giants of trucking, Caledon is preparing for court filing of bankruptcy

One of the giants of trucking, Caledon is preparing for court filing of bankruptcy Quite frankly I never heard of them, Went to cnbc and typed in caledon and all I got were similar names in mining operations. Typed in caledon/tucking and came up with it. Seems involved heavily with Canada, Mexico, and US trucking routes due to NAFTA. Also, the stock is on the over the counter pink slip, not exactly where the big guys trade..... And again, trucking companies are only as good as their latest contracts with companies. Look at Amazon. Since they started their own truck company they took something like 25% of the business of the national company carrier that they previously used. The trucks and the mileage routes did not disappear, they only moved to a new trucking source. Same can be said for brick and mortar companies, as their sales decline Amazon's mileage picks up exponentially. The big guys get bigger, the other guys are led to slaughter. Not saying this is right, but it is what it is. otp.investis.com/clients/us/celadon/usn/usnews-story.aspx?cid=671&newsid=62790

Have you looked at the state of the railroad lately? Would be really good to invest in that instead of some of the research for the DOD.

BNSE, seem to be fine, the rail yard where they unload the shipping containers, Packed solid,, they are building a huge expansion to the existing one here!! Close to my warehouse, I go by it all the time!

That would not have anything to do with Trump being opposed, sued at every turn would it?? We claim there are no high paying jobs,,, Trump and everyone that opposed everything Trump does,,
Has created a huge market for lawyers to sue each other ,,, using taxpayers money!!

Let me remind you that the GOP spent 8 years opposing everything that Obama was trying to do, yet we avoided a financial and auto industry collapse.
Trump is his own worst enemy. He doesn't need any help at failure.

Now when a company is on the "pink sheets" you have to consider how healthy this company is. Major companies are not on the pink slip.
