Why can't the public hear Bolton's testimony. trump claims he did nothing wrong. So let's hear what Bolton has to say about trump doing nothing wrong. Trump’s lawyers, Senate GOP allies work privately to ensure Bolton does not testify publiclyPresident Trump’s legal defense team and Senate GOP allies are quietly gaming out contingency plans should Democrats win enough votes to force witnesses to testify in the impeachment trial, including an effort to keep former national security adviser John Bolton from the spotlight, according to multiple officials familiar with the discussions. While Republicans continue to express confidence that Democrats will fail to persuade four GOP lawmakers to break ranks with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who has opposed calling any witnesses in the trial, they are readying a Plan B just in case — underscoring how uncertain they are about prevailing in a showdown over witnesses and Bolton’s possible testimony. One option being discussed, according to a senior administration official, would be to move Bolton’s testimony to a classified setting because of national security concerns, ensuring that it is not public. I know, a sad statement to make, but it's cheap entertainment watching them run around like a bunch of rats to keep the American public from hearing the truth. All this talk about the "deep state" and draining the swamp. You can't make this shit up!
I do truly hope Mitch McConnell gets his gut full of protecting Trump at all cost. No telling what he will pull next.

Yes it does, however... Your questions aren't about context. "How often" ) Frequency of lying. "To whom" ) Knowledge of persons where lying can happen. "About what" ) Any topic whatsoever. Answer all three of these and it won't change that everyone lies. Since the human psych cannot accept all possibility, lying protects itself. Quote; W hy We Lie
No one likes being deceived, and when public figures are caught in a lie, it can become a major scandal. But while many people pride themselves on scrupulous honesty—and try to distance themselves from individuals who are more comfortable with falsehoods—the truth is that everyone lies, for a variety of reasons. In fact, some experts suggest that a certain amount of deception may be necessary for maintaining a healthy, functioning society.www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/deceptionAhh, but it is. It's just not about the context of your thoughts alone. It's about the context of the thread and those contributing to it. That includes you; however, it's not exclusively devoted to you. Of course everyone lies. That's a given that really doesn't require emphasis since the thread is discussing lies told within the political sphere and by politicians speaking to the entire country about important (and, often, polarizing) matters. That's very different than telling your friend her too tight pants don't make her butt look big. My only point. (bolded, your post) and the reference post. ymam.proboards.com/post/3081863/threadHappy to see you agree with it. Of course you are free to add any additional premise regarding this, that you believe in. (rest of your post) You'll get no argument from me because... Everyone lies.

He already has been impeached. Do you really not even understand the terms here? No wonder you cannot make a cogent argument.

There is some confusion on the right about that. Will that poster now claim Clinton was not impeached?

You do know that he is never going to be impeached?? Right? No, but we know he'll never be convicted and removed. That's because of ass lickers like McConnell who care more about being reelected than they do about doing the job that they were elected to do.

McConnell wanted the hearings to go into the overnight hours so Americans would not be awake to watch them. I believe that terrific idea has now been shot down.

Ah, that tricky definition of impeached. It only means charged. It does not mean removed. Always a tough one to remember.

Satire from The Borowitz ReportSusan Collins Takes Hours to Decide on Lunch Before Ordering Exactly What Mitch McConnell Is HavingBy Andy Borowitz WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—On the first day of the impeachment trial in the United States Senate, Senator Susan Collins, a Republican of Maine, spent hours trying to decide what she would have for lunch before ultimately ordering exactly what Senator Mitch McConnell was having. Clutching the Senate takeout menu in her hands, Collins told reporters mid-morning that the decision of what to have for lunch was a matter of serious consideration and that she wanted to review all of the available options before selecting one. “I’m deeply troubled and concerned about getting this order right,” Collins said. “There are many valid choices on this menu and I don’t want to give any of them short shrift.” Around 11 a.m., rumors swirled that Collins was leaning toward ordering a quinoa salad, a choice that would have set her apart from the rest of her Republican colleagues in the upper chamber. He already has been impeached. Do you really not even understand the terms here? No wonder you cannot make a cogent argument. if it helps to think of it this way, impeachment is similar to indictment. you can be indicted, brought to trial and acquitted. and yes, that is the most likely outcome, because the jury is completely tainted, and there is no remedy for that. I hope that they will all be tried for perjury afterwards, but that is hoping against hope.
mostly, I hope that we wisen up in 2020 and never again elect someone this incompetent and morally rudderless.

I am not convinced that this outcome is absolutely certain. there are limits to what a person will stand. and I think Trump is getting dangerously close to stepping past that into oblivion.

I wish I had any hope that he'd be removed, but I just don't. And there's also the fact that I'm no keener on Pence.

President Trump certainly seems like the type who will continue to test limits to see how far he can go. When he is not removed from office this time, I have no doubt he will continue to push. If he is reelected, I can't imagine that there will not be another opportunity to pass a new set of legitimate Articles of Impeachment.

Actually the "real" decision on impeachment has already been made by the US House of Representatives, doing their Constitutional duty. The US Senate is now making the "real" decision on removal. The American people will make the "real" decision on how they like the job their Representatives did, some on how their Senators did, and likely on whether they wish to have President Trump continue in office. This is how our Constitutional Representative Democracy is designed to function.

Yes, driven by the hatred of Trump, What Trump did probably has been done a thousand time by other Presidents, asking them to look in to something. If this had been anything except a kangaroo court proceeding this would have never happened. If it was not for an occasional new story about it, most are not concerned to even talk about it.
But like in a real hearing, if found innocent,,, means innocent of all charges!! except in the minds of some Democrats,, that we will hear about for the next Century,
I can hear it now, Headline: Stock Market blew thru 40,000 today,, but Trump was impeached, by the House, we will never hear that he was found innocent by the Senate!!
