My $ are on the US Marshalls, local cops...possible National Guard....US troops are forbidden to get involved in action in the States..by law...However, if in a emergency...and I don't believe will be needed..President does have great powers and Congress can always pass new laws.. Those guys with long weapons over their shoulder...they would be wiped if they tried to cause problems..especially after the first few are put down..their families also involved as collateral damage.. Granted some might have had military training , but were trained as a team with supports, medical, logistics and for most, no longer 18/19/20 year olds..and hiking and playing in the woods on occasional weekends with like minded types just aint going to cut it...not even close. bring out the tanks, and let's see those pea shooting cowboys deal with that kind of muscle. National Guard but just as effective...might have M-48's, M-60's...possible Abrams....but APC's and mucho automatic weapons up the gazoo but most important..logistics...communications , training as units and leadership...As said...bad guys wiped ..48 hours tops...

Who is he going to pardon?? large numbers ?? more than Clinton or Obama?? I'll list three categories of people: 1. Those who have worked for him or his campaign that have been convicted and sentenced. 2. Those who have been contributors to his campaign and want relief from convictions 3. Republican elected officials who have been convicted. Those who will not receive pardons: People with brown skin. Your funny.

djAdvocate , I'll bet there are far more of his fans with assault rifles slung over their shoulders than there are fans with walkers. In my mind's eye, I see him on the news whining "How could you do this to me after all I've done for you?" I hope you realize there are a lot of democrats in flyover country that own assault rifles too.

It is wonderful to see all the threads here where the appropiate response is now just another liberal thread here on the boards.

I know the guy is a dick, but it seems like a dumb thing to worry about comparatively. Why not spend that energy winning the election? If you are so worried about Trump, go to a purple state - campaign blue, register new voters, etc.

We are thinking of doing it to Florida. Indiana will remain Red for awhile yet, so we could do it. Too many easterners moving there and bringing democratic votes with them even though they moved away to get away from the same damn economic things the democrats forged in their home state

There are definitely states that aren't in the bag for either party. The difference in a few states was about 50,000 votes. If 10,000 people go and convert or add 5 voters each to the other side, the state could turn.

I gues it leaves it up to some pretty involved Retirees to do it Texas does have a problem with people actually working and moving to Texas. The democrats moving out of NY and California who are still working, are turning the state blue.

As our economy continues to evolve from manufacturing through service and into technical, people will continue to move around. If large cities spur on businesses to keep their economy humming along, people will be attracted to the area. If the jobs are attracting young, highly educated people, and appeal because the cost of living is lower than where they are currently living, then the demographics of your state are changing. Just as the demographics of our society are changing, states will evolve.

It is wonderful to see all the threads here where the appropiate response is now just another liberal thread here on the boards. Nothing to be ashamed about ...this board does definitely lean to the left...always had. At one time it was quite contentious..battle royals all the time..I admit I was a participant at times but over time because of moderator interventions..time outs...even some posters being exiled and others just leaving on their own not to come back... {possible not comfortable with discussions against their beliefs} many who leaned right left...thus leaving what we have now.... I believe if we had a different kind of Republican President there would be a more even distribution of negative / positive discussions here...but the Donald being who he is...and personally I believe the Donald is Narcistic, …. he brings his problems out there and in here on himself...has himself to blame. His supporters claim that his over the top tweets and speech is just "Donald being Donald"...I say that argument went south a long time ago...

djAdvocate , I'll bet there are far more of his fans with assault rifles slung over their shoulders than there are fans with walkers. In my mind's eye, I see him on the news whining "How could you do this to me after all I've done for you?" well, let's analyze that, shall we?
there are 5-10M assault weapons in the US. let's be extremely generous and say that there is only one owner for the max amount. that would be 10M Americans that own them.
there are 25.5M Americans with disabilities, and 58% of them use some sort of walking aid. and yes, I threw in canes there, so forgive me, but I think we are talking about the same group, here. that is roughly 15M.
of the gun owners, you are probably correct in thinking that close to 100% of them are Trump voters. of those that need walking assistance, are over 2/3 Trump supporters?
I would concede that this one is too close to call.
I personally know a lot of people that I am 100% sure are legal gun owners. Many of them also have licenses to carry. I’ll leave out the gun owners that I think have guns and got their weapons through means I don’t inquire about. Of all of the people I can think of off the top of my head that fall into either of those groups, I can’t think of a single one that is a Trump supporter. I live near a city that has a real problem with gun violence. I don’t think the people committing those crimes are Trump supporters. It would be a grave mistake for Trump supporters to assume they are the only ones exercising their right to bear arms. Many law abiding citizens on the other side of the tracks are doing the same, for various reasons.

I'm not going to get into a detailed discussion here..not sure how "highly trained" those folks are.. If tankers and artillery folks, don't believe their supply of Armor or tube pieces are much..and if u are thinking, regarding destroying tanks ala "Finding Pvt Ryan", "Sticky Bomb"...give us all a break.... U don't have to tell me about our casualties in Nam..been there, done that...the blood thing too...but that was a fight against organized resistance. Cong in the South and regular troops from the North and I stick with my feeling...many of these long gun aficionados are long in the tooth vs young reg military types.., as it should be. I stay with my 48 hour time line.

I started in this community when it was part of MSN in the late 90s. It was definitely right leaning then. Women demonized for working and using day care. Constant tips on how to avoid taxes. Ample Dave Ramsey quotes and saying God wont love you anymore if you declare bankruptcy. Definitely huge support for Bush, lots of criticism about Bill Clinton. There were some lefty outliers (Chessplayer!) But, it was a pretty right leaning board. I avoided the politics page because it was ruled by Paul and company. Not sure when it changed.

I'm a liberal, gun owning, CCP, and going to stock up on ammo. I expect him to not go if he loses and think the idiots here will be gun toting and possibly come after anything we have. Hope that is wrong, hubs says it is and I don't need to buy ammo, but I am anyway and will tuck it away. A case or two can go in with the veggies, LOL! Need to look at what guns we have, gave son some of them.
I think between gutting the voter rolls, voter suppression, and Russian intervention going to take millions more voters to get him out. No, I do not think he will leave if he loses. I expect Russians troops and planes will be poised to "help" him put down the extremists in this country so he can continue. I expect him to continue pardoning killers and all kinds of people in the military to then be on his side. They will fall over themselves to become his select guard. Brownshirts and SS. And I think it will happen quickly. It will all be in place. So right before the election we may see a lot of troop movements overseas. They likely at the same time will be prepared to hack and disrupt communications and all kinds of electronic everything. I think he is prepared to have a dynasty like all the dictators he admires. Will the repubs then be prepared to defend our country or not? If not we may see a civil war. With Russian troops on his side may get nasty. I think if the Russians get a foothold they may not be happy with him as a leader, he is no leader, but may leave him as a puppet as he is now while they pull the strings.
Now there is a far left, what could happen. He is such a poor leader, I would hope it doesn't last long, but then we could be left with a military leader that would not want to relinquish power. This is an extreme of what could happen.
I think once he is impeached by the house and exonerated by the senate he will go even more extreme and if he gets in again, god help our country. We will not recognize this country when he is done, it will take decades if ever to recover from his "rule". And the national debt is going to be so onerous we may go under from not being able to pay our obligations which could stop SS, medicare, and all social programs. His "rule" has far reaching effects.

Country, suggest take a deep breath...possible put a paper bag over head and breeze deeply..NONE of what u are afraid of happening is going to happen. None..Nada..none of it, not one. Don't stock up on Ammo... {if you or any of your family were shot, who is going to help u...if just one got a scratch, I believe u will cave, unless u have a hidey hole in the boonies..say the Dakotas, Montana, northern Maine..} If , and a big if, he loses and contests the election, it will be settled in the courts. New POTUS will be sworn in , new Cabinet appointed and I believe the old one will desert the old one, especially if threatened with prison under many broken laws... Possible if he stays in White House , staff will stop making his bed, dusting and vacuuming...kitchen will go on strike...Isn't that a more civilized way of dealing with a rebellion...No more rides to school for Baron...possible have to take public transportation...Am thinking his wife and son go back to NYC...Trump Tower..He's left alone in the 20,000 sq ft of living space... New POTUS and family, not wanting to get physical , split country even more, will move into "Blair House" temporarily and his staff and folks will take over one of the gov't office bldgs. as new HQ till the evil one gets the message and moves out to where ever and the court cases against him start up... -------------------------------------- Now howe's that for a possible scenario?

I think he will leave. That's why I haven't read any of this thread until today, and only part of page 2. Depending on the details of the vote, I think the time between election night and noon on Inaguration Day could be interesting. But when push comes to shove, I also think he would leave.

If he doesn't leave, maybe Hillary can suicide him. She apparantly can do that without a single trace of evidence.

I said that was extreme, but don't kid yourself putin hasn't given him all those millions for nothing. They said he was pretty much done after that billion dollar bankruptcy. Until they started pumping money to him, he couldn't borrow a dime anywhere. And they do not give money for nothing, he is giving payback now but I'm sure they expect much much more. I wouldn't be surprised about anything happening. Remember his son said they didn't have to worry they could get all the money they wanted from Russia.
I'm old, if my family is taken out, I have nothing to lose.
None of what is happening should be. If mcconnell and the repubs were doing what congress is supposed to it would not be happening. I think his trips to Russia and many of the repub congressmen must have paid off well for them. And you get Ginsburg out and she will, she is old and not well, the courts will go for him. We are in trouble whether you realize it or not.
I think if they could get his records they likely could get him for money laundering. Remember Wilbur Ross was president of the Bank of Cyprus. That was where the money came through from a Russian oligarth to buy for $90 million a property trump had bought for $30 million and couldn't get rid of. The oligarth then tore it down. There's all kinds of stuff like that. Apartments they have bought noone lives in. They just yell fake news until people believe it.
