Anything like this in the USA? I think it's a great idea, especially during holiday party season. Too drunk to drive home? Nez Rouge (Red Nose) will pick you up, and drive you AND YOUR CAR home. Many people refuse to take a cab, because getting your car back the next day is a pain in the ass, especially if the Christmas party was far away. No charge, but they do accept donations. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Op%C3%A9ration_Nez_rouge

The town where I grew up on new years eve the police would give you a ride home if you called them. You had to give them your keys they gave you a receipt to pick them up and they drove you home. They would post how many calls they had i don't think it was all that many like 30 or so, but that was 30 less drunk drivers on the road.

The service I heard about brings 2 people. One drives the drunk's car home. The other car picks up the driver. The one I heard about sounded like a for profit business. In the city I live in the taxis do free rides home but the car is still left.

I love that they are visible like that. the town where I live now has a very active social media presence. if you have seen the Bangor, ME, FB page, we are up there with them. no, I don't live in Bangor. our PD FB page has a Monday rundown of ways in the police blotters, with witty commentary about what not to do in the presence of Minions. community policing done right.

The police here do that on New Year’s Eve but I think they only take the driver and 1 passenger. The car is left though.

AAA does it here and for more than New Year's Eve.
Probably the biggest holiday for drinking is St. Patrick's Day.
The advertising is that it's free because they would rather people do not drink and drive.
